A singular riemannian foliation F on a complete riemannian manifold M is said to admit sections if each regular point of M is contained in a complete totally geodesic immersed submanifold Sigma that meets every leaf of F orthogonally and whose dimension is the codimension of the regular leaves of F. We prove that the algebra of basic forms of M relative to F is isomorphic to the algebra of those differential forms on Sigma that are invariant under the generalized Weyl pseudogroup of Sigma. This extends a result of Michor for polar actions. It follows from this result that the algebra of basic function is finitely generated if the sections are compact. We also prove that the leaves of F coincide with the level sets of a transnormal map ( generalization of isoparametric map) if M is simply connected, the sections are flat and the leaves of F are compact. This result extends previous results due to Carter and West, Terng, and Heintze, Liu and Olmos.

The Sampling-Reconstruction Procedure (SRP) of the Gaussian processes with an arbitrary number of samples is considered when all or some of the samples have jitter. The investigation method is based on the conditional mean rule. The optimal error reconstruction function and the basic functions of each sample are calculated in the time domain for some non trivial examples when the type of covariance function and the discrete distribution law of the jitter are changed. The jitter of each sample is independent and has different discrete distribution law. In order to get all the results we apply the operation of the statistical average to the conditional mean and the conditional variance with regard to the random intervals.

Cleaning the outer walls of high-rise buildings is always dangerous and laborious work in mid-air. An alternative solution is to use walking-climbing robots which overcome the above-mentioned problems. Wall cleaning and maintenance of high-rise buildings is becoming one of the most appropriate fields for robotization due to its current low level of automation and lack of uniform building structure. In this paper, a family of sky cleaner robots for this difficult job which are totally actuated by pneumatic cylinders and sucked to the glass walls with vacuum suckers are presented. Firstly the basic functions for glass wall cleaning robot are summarized systemically. The individual robots' mechanical constructions and unique aspects are introduced in details. In the end a summary of the main special features of the three kinds of cleaning robots are given.

This work presents a new methodology of approximation of functions. The identification is done graphically, stage-by-stage, taking into account the form of the generating functions. The above method is developed in this article within the scope of an efficient tool for modeling physical systems and as a reliable curve-fitting method that can use any basic function. Thus, it represents a non-linear identification procedure. On the one hand, simulated cases that do not represent any physical model are studied, and on the other hand, real cases that model physical systems as rubber behavior law are illustrated. The Ogden hyperelastic and the extended Gent-Thomas models for rubber materials are shown to give an accurate prediction of Treloar's classical data with the help of mechanical parameters evaluated by the stage approach. Critical and comparative analyses of the stage approach are presented with the usual non-linear iterative procedures such as the non-linear least squares.

An interpretation of the Cerebellar Model Articulation Controller (CMAC) network as a member of the General Memory Neural Network (GMNN) architecture is presented. The usefulness of this approach stems from the fact that, within the GMNN formalism, CMAC can be treated as a particular form of a basis function network, where the basis function is inherently dependent on the type of input quantization present in the network mapping. Furthermore, considering the relative regularity of input-space quantization performed by CMAC, we are able to derive an expected (or average) form of the basis function characteristic of this network. Using this basis form, it is possible to create basis-functions models of CMAC mapping, as well as to gain More insight into its performance. The developments are supported by numerical simulations.
