big data ecosystems are complex data-intensive, digital-physical systems. data-intensive ecosystems offer a number of benefits;however, they present challenges as well. One major challenge is related to the privacy and security. A number of privacy and security models, techniques and algorithms have been proposed over a period of time. The limitation is that these solutions are primarily focused on an individual or on an isolated organizational context. There is a need to study and provide complete end-to-end solutions that ensure security and privacy throughout the data lifecycle across the ecosystem beyond the boundary of an individual system or organizational context. The results of current study provide a review of the existing privacy and security challenges and solutions using the systematic literature review (SLR) approach. Based on the SLR approach, 79 applicable articles were selected and analyzed. The information from these articles was extracted to compile a catalogue of security and privacy challenges in big data ecosystems and to highlight their interdependencies. The results were categorized from theoretical viewpoint using adaptive enterprise architecture and practical viewpoint using DAMA framework as guiding lens. The findings of this research will help to identify the research gaps and draw novel research directions in the context of privacy and security in bigdata-intensive ecosystems.

bigdata technology has become increasingly prevalent in facilitating the delivery of government services and public goods in China and beyond. This article seeks to examine how bigdata can be leveraged in poverty governance in rural China, and what the political implications are. This phenomenon of bigdata-driven welfare governance is particularly salient considering the broader context of governmental digital transformation, both within China and globally. This research sheds light on how bigdata usage functions in poverty alleviation, highlighting general motivations and developments in Chinese data-centric welfare governance. More importantly, this article introduces the novel concept of "digital cybernetic capacity" to examine public sector modernization as bigdata transforms the landscape of welfare delivery and governance. By delving into the intersection between technology and social welfare, we explicate how the use of bigdata in social welfare policies can go beyond merely improving information capacity to redefine state capacity. This article argues that such a new governance ecosystem, driven as it is by data technologies, not only provides insights about the transformative resilience of Chinese governance but also opens a new theoretical frontier for research into other countries.

bigdata are becoming a new technology focus both in science and in industry and motivate technology shift to data centric architecture and operational models. There is a vital need to define the basic information/semantic models, architecture components and operational models that together comprise a so-called big data ecosystem. This paper discusses a nature of bigdata that may originate from different scientific, industry and social activity domains and proposes improved bigdata definition that includes the following parts: bigdata properties (also called bigdata 5V: Volume, Velocity, Variety, Value and Veracity), data models and structures, data analytics, infrastructure and security. The paper discusses paradigm change from traditional host or service based to data centric architecture and operational models in bigdata. The bigdata Architecture Framework (BDAF) is proposed to address all aspects of the big data ecosystem and includes the following components: bigdata Infrastructure, bigdata Analytics, data structures and models, bigdata Lifecycle Management, bigdata Security. The paper analyses requirements to and provides suggestions how the mentioned above components can address the main bigdata challenges. The presented work intends to provide a consolidated view of the bigdata phenomena and related challenges to modern technologies, and initiate wide discussion.

The Industry Internet of Things (IIoT) and the Industry Cyber-Physical System (ICPS) for real industry are becoming vitally necessary in the smart manufacturing environment. Very large number of intelligent sensors are being available generating an exploding amount of data. Several issues come with the bigdata in real industry, including the a grand-scale connected network construction with the data security and access protocol issues, data quality with considerable noise when gathered from industrial factories, efficient data storage, smart interconnection with cloud services, and real-time analytics requirements. This paper proposes an integrated CPS based architecture for smart manufacturing and provides the deployment details, addressing all the potential problems in an appropriate way. It has been successfully implemented in a real industry environment, and won the Best Industry Application of IoT at the bigInsights data & AI Innovation Awards.
