Future communication requires more advanced mobile service and has more users, so the spectrum is becoming one of factors restraining the development. To solve this problem, many new coding, modulating and transmitting techniques are being put forward. The space-time coding technique is just one important method, which has been used in the third generation communication systems. The paper focuses on the anti-interference technique to restrain the interference of co-channel users while simply introducing the concept of space-time block coding. The anti-interference technique uses the relationship among signals to remove the interference, which can enhance the capacity of the communication system by introducing co-channel users. Moreover, the paper submits a strategy to eliminate the effect of co-channel interference by decoding signals by stages while using the different performance of various modulation techniques. The system performance can be enhanced using this strategy, which is very important for enlarging the capacity of the system.

Optical communication has developed rapidly in power system communication during the recent two years, which is a good opportunity for digital tele-protection system (DTPS) to develop. This paper describes a new digital tele-protection signaling system DTPS2000 in detail, in which the protection command is transmitted by digital communication technique. A radio architecture is proposed for the wireless monitoring and control of infrastructure equipment. The proposed architecture is useful for machine-to-machine communication using non line-of-sight waves that are multiply reflected by electromagnetic scatters, i.e., with equipments that is much larger than the radio. The proposed radio transmits the signal, which is expanded by orthogonal codes, on different wireless paths using different polarization directions at different times. This communication approach results in good resistance against outer interferences and unexpected interruption, which enables it to achieve highly-reliable wireless communication. We designed a prototype radio in 400MHz band. Simulation results indicate that 100kHz data could be successfully reconstructed through 46MHz coding/decoding and 93MHz modulation/demodulation. The 5x up-conversion is enabled by the band-pass delta-sigma circuit that contains digital parts in a commercial field programmable gate array. The prototype radio exhibited a carrier to noise ratio of more than 30dB.
