This paper describes the findings of a student project that is aimed at helping to improve the quality of life for visually impaired people with an innovative and affordable solution. The project goal was to implement a cost effective prototype of a light, wearable head mounted device with sensors for aiding the mobility of visually impaired people in Bangladesh. The prototype consists of ultrasonic sensors powered by a rechargeable battery and an Arduino processor to control signals in the presence of obstacles. The sensors and Arduino were implemented on a Virtual Reality Box which was worn by a visually impaired person to detect obstacles along the path. The detection was conveyed with vibrations from a motor to caution the person of nearby obstacles. The prototype was successfully implemented and tested for variable parameters of consequence such as range and optimum response time.

Tongue operated integrated system (TOIS) is a pressure based tongue drive system designed to provide assistance to people with severe spinal damage and hence suffering from paralysis in various parts of the body. It consists of force sensitive resistors which are responsible for sending data to the controller that will help in controlling user's environment with four different modes of operation, namely 'Wheelchair Control Mode', 'Emergency Contact Mode', 'Home Automation Mode' and 'Communication with Caretaker Mode'.

This paper represents a reliable, compact, fast and low cost smart home automation system, based on Arduino (microcontroller) and Android app. bluetooth chip has been used with Arduino, thus eliminating the use of personal computers (PCs). Various devices such as lights, DC Servomotors have been incorporated in the designed system to demonstrate the feasibility, reliability and quick operation of the proposed smart home system. The entire designed system has been tested and it is seen capable of running successfully and perform the desired operations, such as switching functionalities, position control of Servomotor, speed control of D.C motor and light intensity control (Via Voltage Regulation).

Biometric systems with a single identifier often face various challenges such as paucity of secrecy, non-absoluteness of samples and, hoaxing attacks on stored data, etc. Thus, we introduce a multimodal biometric system on JAVA platform, which integrates face recognition, fingerprint verification, and speech recognition for making a personal identification system, thus increasing security and secrecy of user data. The input for Face detection is taken in Java using Haar cascades and Content based image retrieval technique is used for Recognition process. The Speech module is implemented in Android, which when authenticated, proceeds further for finger print recognition using a fingerprint module which has an inbuilt Digital signal processor for high speed and accuracy. Further, this paper is to propose the integration of these Biometric technology with automobile lock applications and controlling the automobile system using Speech input after all the three biometric features of a person are authenticated step-by-step, thus visualizing the future possibilities of Biometric Authentication and its applications in vehicular world.

Asynchronous operation of the live electrooptic imaging technique has been newly proposed and successfully demonstrated, which drastically untightens the severe restrictions regarding synchronization and modulation bandwidth in its conventional master-mode operations. The new operation mode is enabled by generation of an optical LO signal as a frequency-shifted replica of an RF signal to be visualized. Real-time visualizations of free-running MHz-class wide-band FM signals as well as bluetooth waves carrying multi-Mb/s data emitted from an onboard module have been successfully demonstrated. Limiting factors for the bandwidth thus expanded by a factor of more than 106 have been clarified and systematically evaluated.

In this paper,an intelligent trajectory tracking car is designed and an intelligent control system based on Freescale K60 is *** camera Ov7725 is used as the main sensor,and the bluetooth module is used to implement the communication between the front car and the rear car in real *** experimental front car is equipped with bluetooth signal transmitter,which could send its steering and velocity information to the rear one,and then the rear car will use its own camera collecting midline location and distance information of the car in front through camera binaryzation and process received bluetooth signal with corresponding reaction,so as to achieve the purpose of trajectory tracking.

In this research paper we propose embedded system based wireless pole climbing robot for multipurpose applications. This can be a great boon for electrical technicians who has to climb the pole in order to carry our repair works related to power transmission lines, for climbing trees etc., in countries developing nations like India, Bangladesh, Srilanka etc. Initially we pair smart phone with bluetooth module connected to embedded system which is part of the robot. Then using the graphical interface in android app we can give instructions to move up or down or to stop moving. These commands are received by bluetooth module and give corresponding instructions to Arduino of the embedded system board, which, depending on the code in it drives the motor driver accordingly. In this work we explain in detail about the working of wireless control of motors, how the app developed using MIT appinventor, model of the pole climbing robot.

Object tracking robots, if can be controlled smartly through voice, can be of tremendous help for the physically handicapped people. In this paper, we try to implement a voice-controlled object tracking robot. A speech recognition system is used to recognize a set of predefined commands such as forward, backward, left, right and rotation at a particular turning angle. The robot navigates its way as per the voice-command signal, while also tracking the desired object. The voice-command signal processing is carried out in real-time, using an on-time cloud server that converts it to text form. The command signal text is then transferred to the robot via bluetooth network to control its differential drive. The prototype smart robot consists of three sub-systems: speech recognition system, object tracking system and the differential-drive based movement's control system. The accuracy and efficiency of the speech recognition system is examined through a set of experiments. The effect of factors such as noise and distance etc. are examined, with encouraging results. The prototype robot can recognize the voice-commands within a bluetooth range, i.e 10 m. Possible extensions are also discussed that could lead to a wide range of further applications.
