The traditional materials are being replaced by nanocomposites due to the remarkable properties of the combination of alloy and ceramic nanoparticles. Due to the enhanced tribological properties of the composites, these are applicable in industrial and automotive applications. The present work investigates the wear behaviour of Al7075 metal matrix composites (MMcs) reinforced with boron carbide ceramic nanoparticles. The MMcs are prepared by stir casting using a vacuum furnace. By varying the weight % of reinforcement, four different compositions were prepared. These composites were age-hardened at 465 °c for 2 hours. The sliding wear tests were performed using an advanced pin-on-disk tribometer to investigate the wear behaviour of composites considering the effects of applied load and sliding speed. The results of the sliding wear test and FESEM and microstructural graphs of as-cast and age-hardened composites were compared and analyzed. The microstructure of the composites became homogeneous and porosity was decreased after heat treatment. The hardness was increased with increasing wt.% of reinforcement. The hardness was observed to increase after aging. The wear rate was dependent on applied load, sliding speed, weight % of reinforcement, and microstructure. The wear resistance of composites was improved after aged hardening.

Manning was an important figure in the early days of what became known as the English School, and was one of the most philosophically explicit articulators of the interpretivist approach that informed that branch of scholarship. He was also a defender of the apartheid system of his native South Africa. A close examination of his work reveals both the promises and the pitfalls of a methodologically interpretive approach to explanation. An interpretive explanation involves developing the capacity in the listener to "go on" appropriately, and this makes criticizing the rules of the game somewhat difficult, but not impossible. A clearer understanding of what an interpretive explanation is may very well help us to avoid the pitfalls illustrated by Manning's advocacy, which I argue is made possible by a category confusion that remains very much with us: a confusion between delineating the rules of a given domain, and actively advocating or defending those principles.

Fuzzy c -varieties (FcV) is a linear fuzzy clustering method, whose clustering criterion is constructed by replacing the fuzzy c -means (FcM) prototypes with linear varieties, and has been utilized for local principal component analysis. In this paper, the FcV iterative algorithm is modified for handling vertically distributed datasets under consideration of privacy preservation. A cryptographiccalculation scheme is realized by utilizing the least square criterion without eigen solutions. The characteristics of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated through numerical experiments.

In the present work, optimized cr 3 c 2 NicrBSi nanostructured and conventional powder coatings are sprayed on to Inconel 718 material by high-velocity oxygen fuel coating process for enhancing the high temperature corrosion resistance. The cyclic hot-corrosion study is carried out on uncoated, conventional coated and nanostructured coated superalloy in the salt environment of Na 2 SO 4 and 60% V 2 O 5 at 900 °c. The weight change measurements are carried out after each cycle to investigate the hot corrosion kinetics of uncoated and coated superalloy using thermo gravimetric technique. The corrosion products of coated specimens are analysed using Scanning electron microscopy and Elemental mapping. cr 3 c 2 NicrBSi nanostructured coating provides dense coating compared to conventional coating. compared to uncoated sample, cr 3 c 2 NicrBSi coating is found to be highly effective in corrosive resistance. The hot corrosion resistance provided by cr 3 c 2 NicrBSi coatings may be associated with the development of oxides of chromium, nickel, silicon and spinels of chromium and nickel.
