The interdigitated transducers sensor based on nanodiamond (ND)/polyaniline (PANI) thin film for ammonia (NH3) sensing is investigated, which is synthesised by in situ chemical oxidative polymerisation. The experimental result reveals that the response of 30ND/PANI thin film sensor is much higher than that of PANI for NH3 gas detection. The ND is homogeneously combined into PANI to form ND/PANI nanocomposite, which may increase the specific surface area and improve the response of ND/PANI sensor. Moreover, the response mechanism of ND/PANI for NH3 gas detection is discussed. The synthesised thin films are characterised by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and SEM.

Antidiabetic drugs of the biguanide and thiazolidine classes ameliorated the detrimental effect of glucose on egg-laying rate, suggesting the possibility that this quick and easy assay system may be applicable to whole-animal screening for novel antidiabetic drugs, at least, of these classes.

Redox flow battery has been paid attention since it has been considered as a solution for large-scale energy storage. Among redox flow batteries, this work focuses on zinc (Zn)/bromine (Br) redox flow battery. The cell of Zn/Br redox flow battery as an energy source for a sensor node of wireless sensor network systems was miniaturised. Here, the fabrication and the experimental results for performance characteristics of the miniaturised Zn/Br redox flow battery cell are reported. Moreover, the electrode materials influence on its characteristics utilising four kinds of carbon materials such as activated carbon, hard charcoal, carbon nanotubes (cNTs), and activated carbon and cNTs composite was investigated. To investigate performance characteristics, charge-discharge tests, impedance measurement, specific surface area measurement, and charge and discharge cycling life test were performed. Moreover, the morphology of electrode materials was observed. As a result, it revealed that the activated carbon electrode showed the best coulombic efficiency of 88.6% and the largest specific surface area. Moreover, it was confirmed that the activated carbon and cNTs composite electrode material has the lowest inherent internal resistance and interfacial resistance among the investigated electrode materials. In the cycling life test, the cNTs electrode showed stable capacity retention during ten cycles.

The effects of caffeine on salt chemotaxis learning were investigated using the nematode caenorhabditis elegans. To estimate the degree of salt chemotaxis learning, nematodes were placed in a mixed solution of Nacl and caffeine, and then the chemotaxis index of Nacl was obtained from the nematodes placed on agar medium after pre-exposure to caffeine concentrations of 0.01, 0.1, 0.3, and 1.0%. Locomotor activity and preference behavior for caffeine were also estimated under these caffeine conditions. Nematodes pre-exposed to 0.3% caffeine showed inhibition of salt chemotaxis learning. Additional experiments indicated that nematodes showed a preference response to the middle concentration of caffeine (0.1%), with preference behavior declining in the 0.3% caffeine condition. Stable locomotor activity was observed under 0.01-0.3% caffeine conditions. These results suggest that salt chemotaxis learning with 0.3% caffeine is useful for investigating the effects of caffeine on learning in nematodes.

A ferroelectric-gated graphene field-effect transistor was fabricated by consecutively stacking two distinct graphene-ferroelectric hybrid ribbons at right angles. Two graphene layers play different roles. One graphene layer acts as a gate electrode and the other graphene layer acts as a channel between two electrodes, source and drain. Electric gating at the gate graphene modulates the resistance of the channel graphene. By means of ferroelectric polarisation, bistable resistance states of the channel graphene could be recorded, and the retention time of bistability was estimated to be 460 days by extrapolating of two resistance values in time-resistance relationships. Furthermore, the underlying concept to fabricate bistable memory device was extended to the methodology to realise a logic-gate device by stacking three distinct graphene-ferroelectric hybrid ribbons.

【目的】评价骆驼来源的纳米抗体c Ab BcII10作为非抗体亲和力转移骨架的潜能,采用亲和力转移的方法,将FSHR结合肽段移植到c Ab BcII10的抗原结合区以快速获得抗FSHR抗体。【方法】将FSHR结合肽FSH33-53编码序列,分别移植入纳米抗体c Ab BcII10的cDR1和cDR3区域中,命名为VHH-h FSH1和VHH-h FSH3。采用DNA合成方法获得VHH-h FSH1,VHH-h FSH3和c Ab BcII10的DNA编码序列,把这些DNA序列克隆到p ET22b载体上,将其转化到BL21(DE3)感受态细胞中。经过诱导和表达再用Ni离子亲和纯化获得纯的单域抗体。采取ELISA方法鉴定纯化的c Ab BcII10,VHH-h FSH1、VHH-h FSH3与FSHR的结合能力及特异性。【结果】通过框架移植获得的VHH-h FSH1,VHH-h FSH3和c Ab BcII10蛋白均在细菌胞间质可溶性表达。将FSHR结合肽FSH33-53移植到c Ab BcII10的cDR3获得的VHH-h FSH3具有特异结合FSHR活性。【结论】c Ab BcII10可以作为移植的框架,FSH和FSHR结合肽段移植到c Ab BcII10的cDR1和cDR3区可以获得亲和性较高的抗FSHR抗体。
