In the paper a new indoor positioning algorithm is presented. This algorithm takes into account selected features of radio wave propagation in indoor environment. This results in improvement in accuracy of calculated position estimates. A comparative analysis of this new algorithm with chan and Foy algorithms was made and described in the paper. This comparative analysis was made with utilization of real radio distance measurements.

In the positioning of the target in the three-dimensional indoor scene, the non-line of sight (NLOS) error caused by the occlusion of the obstacle will seriously reduce the positioning accuracy of chan algorithm. The Taylor series positioning algorithm can suppress the NLOS error, but the algorithm is dependent on the selection of the initial value, and the initial value selection is not suitable, which can lead to the non-convergence of the algorithm. Aiming at the above problems, a fast and accurate chan-Taylor series joint three-dimensional localization algorithm is proposed. First, the time of arrival (TOA) data obtained by the ultra-wideband (UWB) technology measurement is analyzed by the residual discrimination method, and whether the NLOS error exists in the measured data is identified. Then, aiming at the existence of NLOS error, the positioning result obtained by the chan algorithm is used as the initial positioning value of the Taylor series positioning algorithm, and the positioning position is further iteratively calculated by the Taylor series expansion method. In the case of the line of sight distance (LOS), a single chan location algorithm is still used for calculation. The experimental results show that the chan-Taylor series joint three-dimensional localization algorithm improves the positioning speed and effectively suppresses the adverse effect of NLOS error on the positioning accuracy, and can reach the positioning accuracy of less than 0.2m in 73% case.

This paper introduces the Taylor algorithm and chan algorithm based on the time difference of arrival (TDOA) and the TDOA/AOA hybrid positioning algorithm. In the simulation experiment, the positioning root-mean-square error is used as the evaluation index, and simulation analysis of chan algorithm, Taylor algorithm and TDOA/AOA hybrid algorithm arc implemented under different conditions respectively. The results indicate that the positioning root-mean-square error of TDOA/AOA hybrid algorithm is smaller than that of the chan algorithm and the Taylor algorithm, that is, the hybrid positioning algorithm has better positioning performance.

In typical Urban environment, non-Line-Sight (NLOS) propagation between the base station (BS) and mobile station (MS) became the main factor of the positioning error. As a result, the study on the mitigation of its negative influence becomes focus. Base on chan algorithm, this paper presents a TDOA mobile location algorithm, which can improve the positioning accuracy effectively. The positioning process includes NLOS error identification and its mitigation. First, the Wylie algorithm is used to identify the existence of NLOS. And then, the time of arrival (TOA) is update based on the difference of TOA and the distance between BS and MS. This coordinate of the MS is estimated by using chan algorithm in the pro cess of this distance calculating. Simulation resu Its show that this algorithm can mitigate the NLOS error and improve the location accuracy in different environment effectually.

In view of the influence of Non-Line of Sight (NLOS) in wireless localization, an improved TDOA localization algorithm based on wavelet transform is proposed. In order to eliminate the NLOS error, this algorithm uses wavelet transform to decompose and reconstruct the signal, and then re-uses the chan algorithm to estimate the localization of mobile station. Based on the classical wavelet thresholding denoising method, this algorithm provides an optimized threshold function, so that the threshold changes with the decomposition scale. The simulation results show that this algorithm improves the positioning accuracy, and it performs better than chan algorithm under the same environment.

Aiming at the problem that Ultra Wide Band (UWB)devices are susceptible to environmental interference and localization errors, this paper firstly uses Kalman filter to process the ranging values to eliminate the erroneous ranging values caused by noise interference in the environment, and then uses Gaussian filter to process the ranging values to improve the ranging accuracy, and then solves the initial coordinates by chan algorithm, and then uses the coordinates as the initial value of searching in the improved particle swarm algorithm to further solve the more accurate coordinate values, and measures the positioning accuracy by the mean square error (RMSE) of the algorithm. The coordinates are then used as the search initial values for the improved particle swarm algorithm, which is further solved to obtain more accurate coordinate values, and the localization accuracy of the algorithm is measured by the mean square error (RMSE). Through the experiments, the range error of this algorithm in the presence of signal interference is reduced by 63.4% compared with chan algorithm, 26.7% compared with chan-Kalman algorithm, and its range error is in the centimeter level, which can be concluded that this algorithm can effectively solve the problem of improving the accuracy of UWB indoor positioning in the presence of interference.

As the Internet of Things(IoT) expands, new networks are initiated in order to provide long-range links with low power and low cost. At the same time, end-devices, localization is attracting more attention. This paper proposes a three-dimensional(3 D) positioning algorithm based on time difference of arrival(TDOA). We use unmanned aerial vehicle(UAVs) as gateways to receive signals and calculate, while usual methods are required to construct base stations(BSs). Using UAVs is more flexible and convenient than constructing base stations. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method performs better. The second simulation shows that with the increase of the number of BSs, the positioning accuracy improves.

Combining the advantages of chan algorithm and Taylor series expansion method, the article has proposed an improved localization algorithm in the BDS positioning system. The algorithm eliminates much deviation of the positioning results in chan algorithm, offers the optimized result as the initial value of Taylor series expansion method, then get the weighted sum of the positioning of the results of the two kinds of algorithm, finally put the final result as the location of the mobile station coordinates. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively improve the positioning precision in the noise environment.
