This paper presents a new adaptive control algorithm for maximum power point tracking (MPPT) in wind energy systems. A mathematical model of a wind turbine system is also provided. The proposed control algorithm allows the generator to track the optimal operation points of the wind turbine system under fluctuating wind conditions and the tracking process speeds up over time. This algorithm does not require the knowledge of intangible turbine mechanical characteristics such as its power coefficient curve, power characteristic or torque characteristic. It employs a search and reuse concept, a modified Hill Climb Searching (HCS) method and two newly defined loops: change detection loop (CDL) and operation point adjustment loop (OPAL). The adaptive nature of the proposed algorithm eliminates the need for customized algorithms that are optimal for only one particular turbine. It is also a solution to achieve fast optimum power point detection after its initial learning process. A simulated system has been built in PSIM 7.0 for mathematical verification of the wind energy system and for the verification of the proposed algorithm. The algorithm is realized in C++ script and detailed descriptions of the proposed control algorithm are provided for illustration purposes.

Mining data streams for mobile and embedded applications faces a major problem represented in the high rate of the streaming input with regard to the available computational resources. Adapting the data mining algorithms to the availability of resources is an essential step towards realizing the potential applications in this area. In this paper, we review our Algorithm Output Granularity (AOG) for data stream mining adaptation. The generalization of AOG based on Probably Approximately Correct (PAC) learning model is presented. This generalization is of paramount importance to establish a theoretical framework for adaptation and resource-awareness in data stream mining.

When interconnecting inverter based distributed generation (DG) systems to the distribution grid, an islanding detection is essential to avoid substantial safety and performance implications. Many anti- islanding methods currently used for grid connected inverters have weaknesses as high sensitivity resulting in spurious tripping or distortion of the output currents, particularly in multi-inverter installations. The main objective of the work presented here is to develop a new destabilising anti- islanding detection scheme, which combines an active frequency shift technique using positive feedback with a Rate of change of Frequency (RoCoF) detector and an innovative control algorithm. It enables to discriminate between short term frequency disturbances on the network and transition to or operation of an undesirable island. The optimized approach presented here reliably avoids unintentional islanding and furthermore exhibits optimal performance during frequency fluctuations in the network. It will be demonstrated that the new scheme has better performance than existing ones by using a SIMULINK model.

Aiming at vehicle detection and tracking problems in video monitoring and controlling system, this paper mainly studies vehicle detection and tracking problems in conditions of high traffic density in daytime. This paper is distinguished by two key contributions. First, we develop an improvement - SEAP (Simple but Efficient After Process) which checks the detection results in an accurate way and is an after process of Adaboost detector which used to detect car in every frame. Second, we propose a tracking algorithm named 4-states tracking algorithm based on Kalman linear filter. Tracking results turn unsteady as traffic density grows higher because of much more false positives and false negatives appear. However, 4-states tracking algorithm can solve this problem in an easy way by introducing FSM (Finite State Machine) into tracking algorithm. Finally, we implement a real-time vehicle detection and tracking system with the upper methods. Experiments give good results in relative crowded Conditions.

This paper presents the quaternion color difference edge detector, a new approach to detection of edges in color images. Based on a new type of convolution, the color difference subspace and the proposed edge detector are expressed analytically by using the algebra of the quaternion. The proposed color image edge detector generates edges only where sharp changes of color occur in the original image. The experimental results have verified the improved performance of the new edge detector compared to some well known methods.

This paper presents a distributed algorithm for critical area detection in satellite imagery. The detection of critical area is very important in natural disaster detection and control. The algorithm uses the distributed change detection methods for multiple spectral bands in satellite images and combines changes which have appeared during a period of time. The result shows a critical area for analyzed time interval. The algorithm is distributed for support a large amount of data. The distributed approach shows a decrease in processing time with the increase of the number of workers. The presented algorithm represents a component from MedioGRID system, which implemented a real-time satellite image processing system for extracting relevant environmental and meteorological parameters on Grid systems. The critical area detection application will be integrated in Grid environments.

With the growth of internet, web technology evolved rapidly. Before 10 years nearly all webpages were static in nature, and with the growth of technology the major part of a web is dynamic in nature and updated frequently. For a website, website developer creates a master webpage with some static content which is dynamically reused on other webpages. In the previous research, the ranking of webpages is based on linking structure or content of respected webpages or both. In this paper an algorithm is proposed for webpage ranking which is based on the updated content of respected webpages and its link structure. In this paper experimental result of proposed algorithm is compared with PageRank and Topic Distillation with Query Dependent Link Connections and Page Characteristics.

This paper proposes an audio aggregate watermark algorithm based on cloud model, Break through the traditional watermarking which only works to a single audio, implement copyright protection for an audio aggregation. In view of particularities of audio aggregation, experiment not only takes traditional attacks on audio works in aggregation, but also takes joint attacks and audio number change attacks. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can protect copyright of all audio in audio aggregation at the same time, it is robust to attacks such as traditional attacks, joint attacks and number change attacks.

The classical approaches of intersection control are based on cycle periods. Instead of this, the current paper focuses on the lane periods and uses real-time scheduling algorithms to determine the moments of times when the traffic light phases have to be started. The vehicle streams are considered equivalent with programming tasks and the intersections work similarly with the computer processors. The real-time parameters of tasks are equivalent with stream parameters. The real-time scheduling tests are used to verify that the vehicle streams fulfil the specified requirements

Semantic background subtraction (SBS) has been shown to improve the performance of most background subtraction algorithms by combining them with semantic information, derived from a semantic segmentation network. However, SBS requires high-quality semantic segmentation masks for all frames, which are slow to compute. In addition, most state-of-the-art background subtraction algorithms are not real-time, which makes them unsuitable for real-world applications. In this paper, we present a novel background subtraction algorithm called Real-Time Semantic Background Subtraction (denoted RT-SBS) which extends SBS for real-time constrained applications while keeping similar performances. RT-SBS effectively combines a real-time background subtraction algorithm with high-quality semantic information which can be provided at a slower pace, independently for each pixel. We show that RT-SBS coupled with ViBe sets a new state of the art for real-time background subtraction algorithms and even competes with the non real-time state-of-the-art ones. Note that we provide python CPU and GPU implementations of RT-SBS at https://***/cioppaanthony/rt-sbs.
