In this paper a new joint channel coded network coding (JCCNC) scheme is proposed based on low density construction A (LDA) lattices for the two-way relay channel, which we call LDA-lattice aided JCCNC (LDA-JCCNC). In LDA-JCCNC, the channelcoding and networkcoding operations are integrated through the underlying LDA lattice. The arithmetic addition of the channelcoded signals from the two source nodes is directly decoded using the LDA lattice decoding algorithm, and mapped to modulo addition codewords. It is shown that the proposed scheme has a lower complexity and yet perform almost on par with one of the best performing JCCNC schemes, the standard modulo sum JCCNC. We also give methodology on how our LDA-JCCNC scheme can be applied to PAM and QAM modulation systems, over Gaussian integers and Eisenstein integers, in contrast with most existing JCCNC schemes, which are restricted to set types of modulation frameworks.
