Touch-less car interfaces are getting the attention in automobile industries. By using the hand gestures it is possible to control some activities of cars, for this effective recognition system for hand gesture is required. This paper presents the recognition system of hand gesture for touch-less car interface. This system accepts video frames sequence and segmentation is applies on theses frames. Here the new segmentation method is applied by detecting skin portion using HSV, YCgCr and YCbCr color space. From the segmented images their color and edge characteristics are extracted and then stored in the database with their respective labels. Edge histogram descriptor is used for retrieving the shape characteristics from images where a colour structure descriptor (CSD) is used to capture the spatial distribution of color in an image. Then for identification of gesture multiclass SVM classifier is used. For the experiment, hand gesture database from Cambridge is used where video based frames of images are present for 9 gestures.

This paper presents an iterative Content Based Image Retrival(CBIR) system with Relevance Feedback (RF), in which M-band wavelet features are used as representation of images. The pixels are clustered using Fuzzy C-Means (FCM) clustering algorithm to obtain an image signature and Earth Mover's Distance (EMD) is used as a distance measure. Fuzzy entropy based feature evaluation mechanism is used for automatic computation of revised feature importance and similarity distance at the end of each iteration. The performance of the algorithm is tested on standard large multi-class image databases and compared with MPEG-7 visual features.

An important problem in color based image retrieval is the lack of efficient way to represent both the color and the spatial structure information with single descriptor. To solve this problem, a new Dominant color structure descriptor (DCSD), is proposed. The descriptor combines the compactness of Dominant color descriptor (DCD) and the accuracy of color structure descriptor (CSD) to enhance the retrieval performance in a highly efficient manner. The feature extraction and similarity measure of the descriptor are designed to address the problems of the existing descriptors such as color inaccuracy of DCD and redundancy of CSD. Experimental results show that DCSD has a significant improvement in retrieval performance and descriptor size over DCD. An eight-color DCSD (DCSD 8) gives an Averaged Normalized Modified Retrieval Rate (ANMRR) of 0.0993 using MPEG-7 common color dataset, outperforming compact configurations of Scalable color descriptor and color structure descriptor with smaller descriptor size.

The development of image and video archives has made multimedia retrieval become important. Hence, an efficient system for multimedia retrieval is needed. In this study, we will propose a content-based video object retrieval system to retrieve both moving and stationary objects. First, users must circumscribe a query object by a bounding box on the video, image, or poster. The central cross growing algorithm is proposed to extract a representative query region within the box. Then, two color features, dominate color and color structure, are extracted to retrieve similar regions in keyframes. The experiments are conducted on three videos, Garfield, Finding Nemo, and Monsters Inc. The experimental results show that the proposed method can efficiently index the similar regions from the test videos.

Developing an automatic and intelligent system to detect, track, recognize, and analyze moving objects could save human power in monitoring centers. In this study, the color features of an employee's uniform were extracted to identify the entrance legality in a restricted area of an open space. The body of an entrant was segmented into three parts for locating the region of interest (ROI) using a watershed transform. Dominant color features extracted from the ROI were classified for preventing the illegal entrance. Some experiments were conducted to show the feasibility and validity of the proposed system.

Práce se v teoretické části zabývá postupy používanými při vyhledávání v databázi obrazů. Jsou rozebrány dva základní možné přístupy - hledání na základě textového popisu a hledání dle popisu obsahu. Dále jsou uvedeny metody, pomocí kterých se určuje podobnost dvou obrazů. V praktické části jsou podrobně popsány algoritmy výpočtu a postup implementace tří vybraných příznaků používaných pří obrazovém vyhledávání. V další části práce je uveden postup testovaní implementovaných algoritmů a jsou prezentovány dosažené výsledky. V závěru je uveden postup implementace operátoru prostředí Rapidminer, který využívá všechny implementované metody. Operátor umožňuje porovnávání podobnosti obrazů, vyhledávání nejpodobnějších obrazů v databázi a zkopírování nejpodobnějších obrazů z databáze do výstupní složky.
