In recent years, with the rapid development of computer technology, computer control system has received extensive attention and application. It can not only improve the status quo of traditional work, but also improve the effect of various control work by means of computer control system. However, if the computer control system lacks of reliability, the application of the system will be adversely affected and even economic losses will occur. This study introduces the technical specifications and the technological process of the aluminium single-stand 4-high cold rolling mill, and analyses the mathematical model of the rolling process. The automation system adopts 3-level computercontrol, which actuators and sensors (Level 0), basic automation level (Level 1) and process automation level (Level 2), to realise the network data tracking, dynamic adaptive rolling procedure setting, self-learning model and automatic control of the whole rolling process. The computer control system described has been in full commercial operation after a large number of functional and performance tests. The effectiveness of 3-level control concept was verified to ensure the quality of the product, and to meet the expected goal of designing.

Unmanned autonomous transport vessels (MASS) are the future of maritime transport. The most important task in the design and construction of unmanned ships is to develop algorithms and a computer program for autonomous control. In order for such a computer program to properly control the ship (realizing various functions), the ship must be equipped with a computersystem as well as measurement sensors and navigation devices, from which the recorded parameters are processed and used for autonomous control of the ship. Within the framework of conducted research on autonomous ships, an experimental model of an unmanned ship was built. This model was equipped with a propulsion system not commonly used on transport vessels (two azimuth stern thrusters and two bow tunnel thrusters), but providing excellent propulsion and steering characteristics. A complete computersystem with the necessary measuring sensors and navigation devices has also been installed in the model of the ship, which enables it to perform all functions during autonomous control. The objective of the current research was to design and build a prototype computersystem with the necessary measurement sensors and navigation devices with which to autonomously control the unmanned ship model. The designed computersystem is expected to be optimal for planned tasks during control software tests. Tests carried out on open waters confirmed the correctness of the operation of the computersystem and the entire measurement and navigation equipment of the built model of the unmanned transport vessel.

The experimental set-up working on the zero-degree beam-line of the 9MV Tandem Accelerator at IFIN-HH now offers a high accuracy and repeatability of the heavy ions nuclear physics experiments. This is achieved by an automated moving system, placed inside a circular reaction chamber, consisting of four moving arms covering a complete 360 degrees. Each arm can hold one detector and is powered by a stepper motor having the possibility of micro-stepping up to 1/256 if the application requires, with a reduction gear box of 60:1 and a resolver acting as a witness for eventual position corrections. Moreover, the target support, positioned in the center of the chamber, is also assisted by a stepper motor and can rotate over 360 degrees clockwise or counterclockwise. Two identical Delta E - E telescopes have received an upgrade in both the gas automated pressure and constant flow regulation by using a software implemented PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) controller.

Cold wire feeding plus MIG-based shaped metal deposition process has been proved to be a promising technology capable of using materials and energies reasonably to manufacture complex large-scale metal components. The shaped metal deposition with cold wire feeding process is suitable as an alternative technique for traditional manufacturing methods, especially for complex and large-scale solid parts and it is especially used for structural components in aerospace and the manufacture and repair of dying/molds. In this paper, a new experimental setup was developed, which consists of a MIG welding source, an external cold wire feed unit and a 3-axis machine. The paper explains the design, implementation, and stages of control programing (CAD-CAM) of the developed system. Furthermore, the paper presents the important design steps from the design database using CAD to the final shape of the part to be configured. The proposed system is capable of producing parts of different shapes in sizes of more than 450 mm directly from the computer-aided design. Several components are fabricated with SS309L components to achieve the capability of the advanced proposed system. The results showed that the integrated system and the program are feasible and flexible and hence can be used to manufacture variously shaped parts.

The computer aided material testing is playing an essential role in manufacturing industries to enhance the quality of the products. In recent years, the conventional machines are converted in to computer based control. The present paper was discussed about the material testing equipments have been updated with data acquisition and computer control system. The sensors and actuators were interfaced with computer control system. It was used to test the advanced material with high accuracy. The experimental purpose, aluminium and steel were used as testing materials. Tensile test and impact test were conducted. The experimental results were compared with or without interface system. According to the requirement to the pilot mill for the cold rolling process research work, new type pilot reverse cold rolling mill is designed. computer control system, including primary automation system, process automation system and human machine interface (HMI) system, is developed for this mill. Technological control function such as electric position control, hydraulic tension control, automatic gauge control (AGC), and process control functions such as model setup calculation, process tracking, actual data treatment are realized. This new type pilot cold rolling mill has been used successfully in several iron steel companies.
