Deep learning (DL) has revolutionized advanced digital picture processing, enabling significant advancements in computervision (CV). However, it is important to note that older CV techniques, developed prior to the emergence of DL, still hold value and relevance. Particularly in the realm of more complex, three-dimensional (3D) data such as video and 3D models, CV and multimedia retrieval remain at the forefront of technological advancements. We provide critical insights into the progress made in developing higher-dimensional qualities through the application of DL, and also discuss the advantages and strategies employed in DL. With the widespread use of 3D sensor data and 3D modeling, the analysis and representation of the world in three dimensions have become commonplace. This progress has been facilitated by the development of additional sensors, driven by advancements in areas such as 3D gaming and self-driving vehicles. These advancements have enabled researchers to create feature description models that surpass traditional two-dimensional approaches. This study reveals the current state of advanced digital picture processing, highlighting the role of DL in pushing the boundaries of CV and multimedia retrieval in handling complex, 3D data.

The aim of this study was to establish rapid and efficient methods based on a Tri-step infrared spectroscopy (Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) integrated with second derivative infrared spectroscopy (SD-IR) and two-dimensional correlation infrared spectroscopy (2DCOS-IR)) and computer vision technology to identify and evaluate the quality of three Chinese dry-cured hams (Jinhua, Xuanwei and Rugao hams). 9 dry-cured hams (3 different quality grades of each geographical origin) had similar IR spectra. Nevertheless, they could be further discriminated visually by SD-IR and 2DCOS-IR spectra. All samples can be separated by the computer vision technology incorporated with Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Cluster analysis (CA). This study not only preliminarily verified the possibility of using Tri-step infrared spectroscopy and computer vision technology to discriminate the geographical origins and quality grades of Chinese dry-cured hams, but also provided prospects of the application of infrared spectroscopy and computer vision technology to authenticate other meat products. In order to provide clear data support for corn seeds conditioning and parameter selection, and get the optimal selection results for specific seeds batches, we used seed identification software to extract the color and morphology traits of 304 single kernels of Zhendan958 corn variety, and analyzed the correlation of these physical parameters with seedling fresh and dry weights. The results showed that the width, length, projection area, Blue, b, and S of the endosperm are significantly correlated with the fresh weight of each seedling, with a correlation coefficient exceeding 0.5 and a coefficient of variation of over 10%, which means if we sort seeds according to these traits, we could get good seed processing results. When using the selection criteria Blue > 160, b < 30, Saturation ≤ 30, width < 8 mm, length < 9 mm, and projection area < 50 mm, the average fresh weight of the resulting seedlings increased by 1.0233, 1.0250, 1.0250, 1.0325, 1.0295, and 1.0250 g, respectively, which represents an increase of at least 6%. Verification test in the same seed batch validated our results. This kind of test could be used in seed processing factory and determine the optimal seed conditioning procedures and parameters.

With the increase of bromatotoxismus incidents induced by the foodborne pathogens, the study of detection methods of microbes in food both at home and abroad draws more and more attention. They are trying their best to avoid the defects in the traditional detection methods, so as to meet the need of ensuring the food quality and safety by detection, bacillus cereus is one of the most common foodborne pathogens which result in food poisoning, and it lives widely in the natural world in the form of spores. It can rapidly grow and propagate after infecting the food. It is likely to induce food poisoning once mistaken for food. Based on the computer vision technology and specific staining methods of bacillus cereus, this paper primarily discusses the rapid detection methods of bacillus cereus in food. This paper proposed some new ideas on the rapid detection of bacillus cereus in food, and extended the application of rapid detection system for microbes, thus to provide some theories and technology for supporting this system.
