Introductory programming courses are unique in that they typically represent the student's first technical experience in computer and electrical engineering curriculum. The presentation of these courses is important because the impressions students form from these courses stay with them throughout their college experience and beyond This paper describes an embedded system-based introductory programming course designed specifically to support the specific needs of computer and electrical engineering students. This course replaces a similar course taught from primarily a computer science perspective by changing the course context to a hardware-based embedded environment. The embedded system environment fully supports the learning outcomes of the computer science-based programming course but also accustoms students to the nuances of embedded systems that would otherwise require introduction in later coursework. The hardware nature of this course provides students with an introduction to interfacing basic and common I/O devices typically available on microcontroller-based hardware platforms. The presentation of this course also mitigates traditional cultural differences between computer science and engineering-based approaches to curriculum that can have a negative impact on students in their perspective majors.

Avionics Division of Saab AB develops advanced electronics that need to berobust and work in harsh environments with for example extreme temperaturesand cosmic radiation without any failure. To succeed with this the electronicsneed to be simulated and tested. Therefore this thesis work is done tostrengthen the Avionics Division’s knowledge of hardware modelling andsimulation by evaluating the simulation tools LTSpice, PSpice andSystemVision, their functions and *** this thesis a survey is carried out with help of a questionnaire to study theAvionics Division’s needs for simulation. The survey is underlying an analysisof the analyses that can be performed by the simulation tools for exampleSensitivity analysis, Worst Case analysis, Monte Carlo analysis and ParametricSweep analysis. The different analyses are discussed in the thesis. Thequestionnaire is also underlying an analysis of the tools LTSpice, PSpice andSystemVision. The result of the analysis is summarized in Table 1.A case study of a circuit simulation in SystemVision, based on an existingcircuit used by Avionics Division, is also done within this thesis work. Thestudy is done to evaluate the tool’s usability, to see if it is easy to perform asimulation and if it is easy to find and use suitable models from the *** case study describes how a simulation is performed in SystemVision andhow an AC analysis of a Butterworth filter is done. A stability and reliabilitycheck of the tool is performed as well as a robustness simulation. The analyseswere easy to do and the overall impression is that SystemVision is reliable anduser friendly structured. In order to check and compare the results of the ACanalysis the same analysis is performed using LTSpice. The comparison showsthat the results differ. Though a constantly increasing number of ontologies are now available on the Internet, the ontology construction process remains generally a manual task, so consequently an effort demanding task. As no unified ontology construction method is available in the literature, researchers started investigating different frameworks for automatically generating ontologies and, therefore shorten the time required for their construction. This master’s thesis presents a prototype system for automatic construction of ontology, based on ontology design patterns and unstructured texts, such as natural language texts. The use of ontology design patterns allow constructing well structured ontologies and reducing the demand of knowledge experts. A difference between our prototype system and the systems presented in the literature is, the possibility to increase accuracy of the generated ontology by selecting the more relevant terms and associations from the unstructured text and match them against the ontology design patterns. Also, a matching score is introduced to define the level of similarity between the terms extracted and the ontology design patterns. By setting a threshold value on the matching score, the relevant ontology design patterns are selected and used for the ontology construction process. The developed mobile application can send and receive data from Data Logger and can display on the mobile screen. Now it can send the received data to web server using GPRS. Better command options are created for user. Now the user can start discovering devices and can stop discovery in middle by using 'stop' command. If the user wants to send the data to web server he can use 'send' command and he can see the received data on mobile screen. Now the developed application can discover devices with similar discover time compared to Nokia mobile within built-in Bluetooth enable in it. Bluetooth solution is better when compared to wires in terms of cost, power. When using wires cost of R232 converter, cost of twisted wires, cost of labor for installing sensors, cost of power, cost of switches etc comes into consideration. For measuring temperature values we need one pc. But we can get the temperature values and graph in mobile itself. When using Bluetooth we don't need to lay wires, Just mobile is enough which has Bluetooth enabled in it to receive data and sensors cost comes into consideration. We can get the temperature readings when power is not able at measuring time. Benefits are more when using wireless over wired. For future work Mobile application should be developed to program Data Logger using Bluetooth and another Mobile application should be developed to display graph for received temperature values. Communication time to send and receive data should be decreased. Better screen should be developed. Pictures should be displayed for discovered devices to distinguish between mobile and pc devices. PIM Phone calendar should be developed for programming new mission so that user can select date and time to start data logger for measuring temperature and he should have facility to save some entries. Any case of possibilities of errors should be handled.

This thesis work deals with the most actual topic in computer Vision field which is scene understanding and this using matching of 3D feature point images. The objective is to make use of Saab’s latest breakthrough in extraction of 3D feature points, to identify the best alignment of at least two 3D feature point *** thesis gives a theoretical overview of the latest algorithms used for feature detection, description and matching. The work continues with a brief description of the simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) technique, ending with a case study on evaluation of the newly developed software solution for SLAM, called ***6d is a tool that registers point clouds into a common coordinate system. It does an automatic high-accurate registration of the laser scans. In the case study the use of slam6d is extended in registering 3D feature point images extracted from a stereo camera and the results of registration are *** the case study we start with registration of one single 3D feature point image captured from stationary image sensor continuing with registration of multiple images following a *** the conclusion from the case study results is that slam6d can register non-laser scan extracted feature point images with high-accuracy in case of single image but it introduces some overlapping results in the case of multiple images following a trail

In addition to the performance, low power design became an important issue in the design process of mobile embedded systems. Mobile electronics with rich features most often involve complex computation and intensive processing, which result in short battery lifetime and particularly when low power design is not taken in consideration. In addition to mobile computers, thermal design is also calling for low power techniques to avoid components overheat especially with VLSI technology. Low power design has traced a new era. In this thesis we examined several techniques to achieve low power design for FPGAs, ASICs and Processors where ASICs were more flexible to exploit the HW oriented techniques for low power consumption. We surveyed several power estimation methodologies where all of them were prone to at least one disadvantage. We also compared and analyzed the power and energy consumption in three different designs, which perform matrix multiplication within Altera platform and using state-of-the-art FPGA device. We concluded that NIOS II\e is not an energy efficient alternative to multiply nxn matrices compared to HW matrix multipliers on FPGAs and configware is an enormous potential to reduce the energy consumption costs

Developing an automatic control system from original stage is quite time consuming, a lot of works must be done before the final result, in order to save designing time and money, a systematic way to carry through development is necessary. This project will give an experience about using a systemic method to develop an automatic control system for metal dosing and transfer from original stage. The project will be divided into several different phases, and each phase focuses on some different important tasks. In this project a research of PLCs and stepper motors and then give suitable suggestions of selection of them have been done. One of important roles for this project is to develop a prototype machine and use computer to model and simulate prototype and whole machine, therefore, in this project, using SDL assistant with Matlab to model and simulate both prototype and whole machine have been processed. Because of some unexpected condition, this project doesn’t include real PLC programming

Enterprise models are usually developed with ambition to capture the current or desired situation in enterprises with respect to performed or planned processes, organizational structure (including organization units, roles and competences), products or services produced and IT systems available in the *** above aspects are mutually reflective. Such enterprise models are often represented in formal modeling languages, like UEML (Unified Enterprise Modeling Language) or GEM (General Entity Manipulator) language allowing for the development of applications, which interprets or compute *** ontologies basically allow the representation of the same aspects of an enterprise (processes, organizational structure, products and systems). However, enterprise ontologies use another representation (like OWL- Web Ontology Language) and often are developed for other application purposes than enterprise *** objective of this thesis is to develop strategies for transforming enterprise models into enterprise ontologies.? There should be maximum preservation of semantics and minimum loss of information during the process of transformation. On the basis of meta-model (model to model) transformation, we propose three elements mapping approaches. Each approach has a number of elements mapping rules. After comparative study the best suitable approach according to objective of this thesis is selected for implementation purpose. From a technical perspective, a tool named “EM2EO” is developed, which accepts an enterprise model as input and produces ontology as output

Optimization of computer programming based on mathematical models of artificial intelligence algorithms

Artificial intelligence (AI) technology is a remarkable combination of computer science, biotechnology, and other disciplines. However, due to the late start of research on AI algorithms, the lack of practical experience, and an incomplete theoretical system, there are still several issues that need to be solved and improved upon further. This article uses the mathematical model of AI algorithms to optimize computer programing. The importance and practical role of mathematical model-optimization methods and mathematical algorithms based on AI algorithms in computer programing optimization are highlighted. The results show that optimizing computer programing based on mathematical models of AI algorithms can effectively improve the organization and hierarchy of code programing, thus improving the programing efficiency of the code. The application of mathematical models of AI algorithms improved the quality of computer programing, computer programing was optimized, and the utilization of programing space was increased by 5.75%.
