Efficient Topology Reconstruction via Machine Learning Based Traffic Patterns Recognition in Optically interconnected computing system

The traffic flows in parallel computing systems show clustered, correlative nature and the flows are always latency-sensitive. These flows have been abstracted as "Coflow" to pursue overall optimization. Concurrent Coflows on the network show very novel traffic patterns. On the other hand, multiple optical interconnection network architectures have been proposed to enable the traffic adaption topology reconstructions. Nevertheless, topology reconstruction strategies are application-agnostic, and their optimization objective of network performance cannot meet the Coflow demand. In order to exert the flexibility of optical topology to promote the performance of parallel computing application by Coflow acceleration, the traffic patterns are preferred to be well recognized and then an adaptive topology is generated accordingly. To avoid further complex, such recognition is expected to finish without prior knowledge from the application layer. Then, the topology should be reconstructed to minimize the Coflow completion time. To implement these procedures, we proposed a traffic pattern-aware topology reconstruction strategy. Our strategy first combines CNN and spectral clustering to realize the traffic patterns awareness. And then, the genetic searching algorithm is used to mind the proper topology. Based on real traffic trace from Facebook computing application, large-scale simulations have verified the efficiency of such a strategy by lowering the completion time of computing jobs. In addition, the experimental demonstration has confirmed the conclusions.

Physically Unclonable and Reconfigurable computing system (PURCS) for Hardware Security Applications

A physically unclonable and reconfigurable computing system is introduced which provides both logic locking and authentication of devices. A chaotic oscillator is required to generate the chaotic signals and can produce different Boolean functions using different tuning parameters, including a control bit, iteration number, threshold voltage, and bifurcation parameter. The aim of this article is to build a hybrid computing system with the mixed implementation of standard logic gates and reconfigurable chaos-based logic gates. The tuning parameters of the oscillator make up the secret key for logic locking. Process variation due to fabrication can be leveraged to generate unique keys for each chip. The whole computing system exhibits physical unclonable function (PUF) characteristics and can be used to generate challenge-response pairs (CRPs) for authenticating devices. We have used ISCAS'85 combinational benchmark circuits to demonstrate the results. The Hamming distance between correct and wrong outputs is calculated to ensure that 50% of the output bits are flipped when the wrong key is applied. A Boolean SAT attack has been carried out on the system and it displays exponential complexity with an increase in the total number of chaos gates and key size of each chaos gate. The hybrid system demonstrates near-ideal PUF metrics, including uniqueness, uniformity, and bit aliasing. Common machine learning attacks have been executed on the CRPs generated from the whole system and results show that the proposed chaos-based PUF is robust against modeling attacks. The hybrid system has significantly less overhead compared to traditional systems containing both logic locking and PUF circuitry.

Evaluation of a New Remote Sensing Method for Onboard Voltage Regulator in computing system

Differential remote sensing has been popularly used in voltage regulator (VR) design for many years to ensure a high regulation accuracy requirement for processor supply voltage. One new remote sensing method by using normal VR controller is proposed in this paper to achieve similar high regulation accuracy as that by using true differential remote sensing method for output voltage. Working principles of the proposed method are analyzed in detail for normal VR controller with individual ground and combined ground, respectively. Advantages, design considerations, and application constraints for it are analyzed in detail as well. Finally, test is conducted for normal VR controllers with individual ground and combined ground to verify its effectiveness.

The SIGLA system has been designed to obtain an Interval computing system working with the whole surrounding structure of the standard interval setI (R) (see [9]), that is, the lattice completion ofI (R) with the ordinary algebraic operations extended onto it. A statistical component associating intervals to Bounded Fuzzy Distributions is added. Rounding semantics onI* (R) is considered, and bounding theorems directing programming are given. Improper intervals are shown to mean “control-band-like variables”, in contrast to the classical “autonomous random variables” represented by proper intervals. An outline of the SIGLA language is given.

An approach to the classification of the state of a network based on of statistical parameters is investigated. Deficiencies of methods for classifying the state of a network are established and the basic implementation of a committee of classifier is considered. A modification of the committee of classifiers using a neural network as a metaclassifier is proposed. Experiments on classifying the state of a network were carried out.

Heterogeneous Oses supporting is essential for computing system in e-learning room, even in education informatization. The management overhead for legacy personal computers to fulfill the task is too high to afford. This paper proposes a novel computing system TransCom system, which deploys centralized management with distributed. disk-less clients, vet centralized repositories of all software and data. It supports heterogeneous Oses, reduces the management complexity and results in loin TCO. Our initial deployment and experiment results in education enviorment demonstrate that our approach is feasible and efficient.

The computing method of series traction mechanism of heavy machinery was studied. The scheme of its computing system with equivalent beam element was proposed. Based on this scheme, combining with secondary development of language of Matlab, the computing system was developed. Through comparing with the reslut of enity element with ANSYS, the computing system was verified. Beacause of the computing system developed, the computating efficiency is improved and the accuracy is ensured.

A microprocessor or a computing system is a general purpose device which works on the user defined instructions. The simulation of a computing system requires complex stimuli to verify the design. It needs initialization and configuration of memory for required instructions and their execution. A Single Electron Transistors based computing system can be designed using Cadence Virtuoso environment. The traditional method of design verification is to simulate the design by applying inputs through multiple signal sources. Using this approach, the simulation is tedious and complicated. Cadence Spectre tool has a facility to simulate the design using a vector file which combines multiple signal sources in a text file. But, writing a vector file manually is complex and erroneous. To overcome this problem, we have designed a program that will generate a vector file based on the user selected instructions and parameters. It makes the simulation straightforward and accurate. This paper describes the design of the program for vector file generation.
