We focus on multiagent systems that have capabilities to accomplish global and local objectives. The former refers to a task (e.g., reaching a consensus, following a leader and so on), which is expected to be performed eventually by all agents in the system, and the latter is a kind of the secondary objective of the multiagent system, which is desired to be achived by only a certain number of agents without deteriorating the global objective of the multiagent system. To this end, the authors of [1] proposed five different distributed protocols having comparable advantages with system-theoretic stability analyses for multiagent systems being subject to a global objective, which is a leaderless consensus, and local objectives. In addition, we slightly modify these protocols in order to achieve the leader-follower consensus as a global objective. The contribution of this paper is to conduct experiments on a team of ground mobile robots with the protocols mentioned above and to make comparisons of their performances.

Blockchain was known by Satoshi Nakamoto in 2008 because of Bitcoin. After more than a decade of development, blockchain has been widely used in medical, digital finance, and electronic evidence, etc. consensus algorithm is the core part of blockchain and has become the bottleneck of blockchain performance. At present, there are dozens of different consensus algorithms for different application context, such as Proof of Work (PoW), Proof of Stake (PoS), Delegate Proof of Stake (DPoS), Proof of Reputation (PoR), etc. But in Public blockchains, their performance, security and stability are difficult to support a large project. This paper introduces an improved consensus algorithm named Delegated Proof of Stake with node's behavior and Borda Count (DPoSB) which based on the node behavior monitoring in DPoS and Borda count voting. The node's behavior of generating blocks is used as a reference index for node elections, and it will increase the difficulty for nodes that have bad behavior. Then, combined with the Borda Count to elect nodes that is more in line with the other nodes' wishes. So, the elected nodes are more secure and fairer, thereby ensuring the stability of the system and the interests of blockchain nodes. Finally, the feasibility and correctness of the consensus algorithm is proved by simulation experiments of the blockchain system.

Educational institutions store their valuable data in registers where it can be exposed for tampering. We can store those transactions such as attendance, marks and certificates and secure them using a blockchain and can be viewed by anyone in the institution. Traditional methods of record keeping like storing marks in a register or a physical ledger are not secured. An instructor or a student may allegedly change the data for their own selfish needs which are unethical in educational field. Blockchain has a decentralized architecture which stores and secures transactions transparently, and there will be no central authority over those occurring transactions. Therefore, a novel model is proposed in smart contracts which secures and stores each transaction in a blockchain with hashing algorithm making them tamperproof.

This paper explores a formation control design which is resilient against malfunctioning communications. The goal is to have each agent, modeled in the relative motion Hill frame, to orbit around a target point using only neighboring information. The proposed approach leverages our previous work in satellite formation control which uses a Lyapunov-based formation control solution. To mitigate the effect of malfunctioning agents communicating miss-information on the network which would cause errors in the control algorithm, each agent applies a modified weighted mean-subsequence reduced consensus algorithm to the formation control problem. This algorithm compares the communicated information on the location of the malfunctioning agents to the predefined formation cooperating agents can identify and isolate such defunct agents. Results are illustrated in a ten spacecraft simulation orbiting around a single satellite at the origin and compares the case between malfunctioning satellites and non-malfunctioning satellites.

Onkart is a blockchain decentralized e-commerce platform for buying and selling e-commerce products. The seller can sell the product and the buyer can purchase the product directly without the intervention of a third party. When a seller adds a product to the platform, they stake 1% of the price of the product in their stake on the platform, and similarly place an equal number of tokens together when a buyer places an order for the product. Price tokens for items in the platform's stake. If the buyer confirms receipt of the product without dispute, the seller will receive their stock tokens and the price of the product. Similarly, buyers receive their stake on the platform. This incentive mechanism will make the admins do their work without any manipulation. This mechanism avoids the seller/buyer from doing malpractices since their amount is in stake in the platform. Hence, this provides decentralized application which is friendly to use. This system follows consensus based Blockchain network which is more secure, and its functionality is protected by smart contracts. In terms of latency and throughput demonstrating the Onkart decentralization effectiveness in the products of e-commerce, the results are discussed for the betterment of safety of products and to ensure that there is sustainability in terms of society and finances.

A consensus mechanism is one of the most important techniques in blockchain systems. However, existing consensus mechanisms have the problems of high latency and tending to centralization. To address these issues, we present a consensus algorithm eRoc with decentralization property. In eRoc, a verifiable random function (VRF) is employed to achieve cryptographic sortition such that a certain amount of blocks and votes will be broadcasted in the system. And the blocks and votes will be verified by all users. Thus, in each round all blocks are generated in a distributed way, and each block must be voted by most voters to become a consensus block. We propose a generic eRoc construction, analyze its security and liveness, and compare with related schemes. We also develop an eRoc prototype in C++ to evaluate its performance. The experimental results demonstrate that eRoc can reach consensus in 13 seconds for 30 blocks of 2M size, where the numbers of nodes, expected votes of each block, and threshold votes of a consensus block are 10k, 500, and 200, respectively.

Distributed Ledger Technology is getting famous day by day. Not only investors, financial organizations and technical personnel are interested in this technology, but also government and nearly every other organization are showing interest in this evolving technology. This technology deals with the settlement of transactions without the need of any third party. But it also requires that different nodes distributed all over the world should have the same state of the data to prevent faulty transactions for which there is a need of consensus algorithms. Many algorithms have already been developed and implemented. This paper discusses some of the algorithms that are widely accepted or talked about and also compares them in terms of centralization, energy consumption, transaction rate etc.

Blockchain(BC),as an emerging distributed database technology with advanced security and reliability,has attracted much attention from experts who devoted to efinance,intellectual property protection,the internet of things(IoT)and so ***,the inefficient transaction processing speed,which hinders the BC’s widespread,has not been well tackled *** this paper,we propose a novel architecture,called Dual-Channel Parallel Broadcast model(DCPB),which could address such a problem to a greater extent by using three methods which are dual communication channels,parallel pipeline processing and block broadcast *** the dual-channel model,one channel processes transactions,and the other engages in the execution of *** parallel pipeline processing allows the system to operate *** block generation strategy improves the efficiency and speed of *** experiments have been applied to BeihangChain,a simplified prototype for BC system,illustrates that its transaction processing speed could be improved to 16K transaction per second which could well support many real-world scenarios such as BC-based energy trading system and Micro-film copyright trading system in CCTV.

Permissioned blockchain consensus algorithms can be divided into CFT (Crash Fault Tolerance) algorithms and BFT (Byzantine Fault Tolerance) algorithms [1]. CFT algorithms have better consensus performances while BFT algorithms are better in security due to they can resist Byzantine attacks [2]. Besides, some improved algorithms propose to improve Byzantine fault tolerance and consensus efficiency through techniques such as digital signatures, but they still have some shortcomings in other performances. This paper proposes an improved BFT algorithm VG-Raft (Verification Group Raft). The algorithm introduces the concept of node trust values, and the node cluster selects some nodes with high trust values to form a verification group. Verification group is responsible for checking the consensus process to avoid the error logs being committed to the blockchain. Our simulation results show that VG-Raft has better performances than other BFT algorithms in consensus efficiency, throughput and so on.

With an increasing penetration of distributed energy resources (DERs) in Energy Internet, there is a surge of interest in distributed economic dispatch (DED) problems. The existing literature mainly focuses on average consensus algorithms, the convergence of which remains a bottleneck in practical applications. To improve the convergence rate of DED, this paper proposes a consensus algorithm based on optimized transition matrix (TM) of Markov chain. A DED model is firstly developed under a consensus-based information exchange architecture, in which a generator only communicates with its neighbors. Thus DED is implemented in an iterative manner with generators exchanging information according to a predefined TM. In contrast to the averagely weighted TM, we minimize the Frobenius norm (F-norm) of the TM in order to limit the eigenvalues that greatly influence the convergence rate of DED. Additionally, a virtual power method is introduced to meet generators' power limits by reformulating the power allocation ratio. Case studies verify the effectiveness and efficiency of the proposed algorithm.
