Fuzzy vision image denoising algorithm based on Bayesian estimation

A fuzzy visual image denoising algorithm based on Bayesian estimation is proposed to address the problems of poor denoising performance and long denoising time in traditional image denoising algorithms. First, analyse the noise reduction requirements of fuzzy visual images, construct a visual image degradation model, and obtain fuzzy visual images. Then, analyse the spectrum of the acquired fuzzy visual image, preprocess the spectrum signal by adding a window function, and detect the edge of the fuzzy visual image according to the preprocess result to supplement the fuzzy edge. Based on the supplemented blurred visual image edges, Bayesian estimation is used for image denoising to improve the image denoising effect. The experimental results show that the visual image obtained by the proposed method is relatively clear and has high image quality, indicating that the denoising effect of the algorithm is good and the denoising time is short. Secondary Frequency Regulation Strategy for Battery Swapping Stations Considering the Behavioral Model of Electric Vehicles

The development of vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technique and the growth of battery swapping stations are expected to enhance the resilience of power networks. However, V2G battery swapping stations exhibit inconsistencies among internal battery packs, where the power capacity is significantly affected by the battery swapping behavior of electric vehicle (EV) users. To address this issue, this paper proposes a secondary frequency control strategy for V2G battery swapping stations that accounts for battery pack heterogeneity. First, a user behavioral model is developed through quantitative analysis of key factors such as economic incentives, time costs, and battery degradation, which is then used to optimize the operation of V2G battery swapping stations. Moreover, active balancing of EV battery energy levels is achieved by incorporating penalty terms into the objective function. Finally, a distributed secondary frequency control strategy based on the consensus algorithm is established to minimize total frequency control loss. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed strategy effectively meets the secondary frequency control requirements of the power grid.

Integrating machine learning with proof-of-authority-and-association for dynamic signer selection in blockchain networks

Integrating machine learning (ML) into blockchain consensus mechanisms enhances efficiency, scalability, and resilience. This study introduces the PoA2 algorithm, an ML-enhanced Proof of Authority mechanism that optimizes signer selection for improved transaction processing. Simulations with models including Random Forest, Logistic Regression, SVM, K-Nearest Neighbors, Decision Tree, and Gradient Boosting showed significant gains. Random Forest reduced latency tenfold, achieving nearly 1000 transactions per second, with 93.33% accuracy, 100% precision, 86.67% recall, and a 92.86% F1-score. These results demonstrate ML's potential to enhance blockchain performance, making hybrid blockchain-ML solutions a promising research direction.

CFTO: Communication-Aware Fairness in Blockchain Transaction Ordering

Blockchain leader-based protocols elect leaders for proposing the next block of transactions. Proposed blocks need to pass a validation routine in order to be added to the blockchain. Proposers may prioritize certain transactions based on their fees or accounts, which enables attackers to gain profits through block building, while simultaneously causing negative impacts on other users. A fair block selection follows a random selection of pending transactions among those that a proposer is aware of. We propose CFTO, a protocol that aims at encouraging fair block selection in a leader-based blockchain network while taking into account real network conditions, such as the network's topology structure and the forwarding protocol. CFTO offers two main contributions. First, it provides incentives for acting honestly and diminishing malicious and dishonest nodes. To accomplish this, we use a reputation system, whereby each node is given a reputation score based on its actions. Second, it consists of an algorithm that evaluates the proposed blocks based on the zone structure of the network. Furthermore, we adapt the evaluation algorithm to fit the additional order constraints implied in Ethereum transaction ordering. We demonstrate the improved accuracy of CFTO in detecting fair blocks, in terms of increasing the probability of approving fair blocks and decreasing the probability of approving unfair blocks, by implementing experiments and comparing them with Helix (Yakira et al., 2021), a previously proposed consensus algorithm for fair block selection. As part of our experiments, we also compare certain features with those of previous studies.

IvyRedaction: Enabling Atomic, Consistent and Accountable Cross-Chain Rewriting

Blockchain rewriting has become widely explored for addressing data deletion requirements, such as error data deletion, space-saving, and compliance with the "right-to-be-forgotten" rule. However, existing approaches are inadequate for handling cross-chain redaction issues, in facing with the increasing need for inter-chain communication. In particular, transaction rewriting on a blockchain might have relevant effects on the states of other blockchains. The cross-chain interoperability results in inter-chain transactions with more complex dependency relations. The issues pose new challenges to achieve rewriting consistency, for example, ensuring the rewriting of related transactions when a transaction is being modified, and achieve atomic rewriting, whereby two cross-chain transactions must either all, or neither, be processed. This article introduces a cross-chain solution IvyRedaction, with an emphasis on customizing a decentralized intermediary for generating and maintaining global cross-chain redaction states and transaction dependencies. The article proposes a novel cross-chain state mapping method with rollback rules, as well as customized block structures and verification algorithms, to address the aforementioned issues. Proof-of-concept experiments are conducted to demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed framework.

BlockCompass: A Benchmarking Platform for Blockchain Performance

Blockchain technology has gained momentum due to its immutability and transparency. Several blockchain platforms, each with different consensus protocols, have been proposed. However, choosing and configuring such a platform is a non-trivial task. Numerous benchmarking tools have been introduced to test the performance of blockchain solutions. Yet, these tools are often limited to specific blockchain platforms or require complex configurations. Moreover, they tend to focus on one-off batch evaluation models, which may not be ideal for longer-running instances under continuous workloads. In this work, we present BlockCompass, an all-inclusive blockchain benchmarking tool that can be easily configured and extended. We demonstrate how BlockCompass can evaluate the performance of various blockchain platforms and configurations, including Ethereum Proof-of-Authority, Ethereum Proof-of-Work, Hyperledger Fabric Raft, Hyperledger Sawtooth with Proof-of-Elapsed-Time, Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance, and Raft consensus algorithms, against workloads that continuously fluctuate over time. We show how continuous transactional workloads may be more appropriate than batch workloads in capturing certain stressful events for the system. Finally, we present the results of a usability study about the convenience and effectiveness offered by BlockCompass in blockchain benchmarking.

Blockchain-Based Smart Contract Model for Securing Healthcare Transactions by Using Consumer Electronics and Mobile-Edge Computing

Blockchain technology has been an emerging solution to various problems in the healthcare sector. Its applications in the healthcare sector range from securing patient data to increasing transparency in the pharmaceutical supply chain. Here, consumer electronic devices are used to collect and process healthcare data before uploading them to a blockchain network. Many schemes have been already developed using blockchain technology, Mobile Edge Computing (MEC), and consumer electronic devices to exchange Electronic Medical Records (EMR) efficiently. However, they face many critical concerns like data security, automation, and scalability. A novel blockchain-based EMR sharing scheme is proposed in this work to solve these problems. It protects the system during the entire Health Information Exchange (HIE) process between the patient and doctor. Here, consumer electronic devices and MEC are used to generate and upload EMRs and diagnosis reports. The proposed scheme utilizes Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), Rivest Shamir and Adleman (RSA), Edwards-curve Digital Signature algorithm (EdDSA), Elliptic Curve Digital Signature algorithm (ECDSA) techniques, and Inter-Planetary File System (IPFS) to securely store EMRs, so that they cannot be tampered with and are always available to authorized users. Experimental results of the proposed scheme show its efficiency compared to other existing well-known schemes.

Distributed Optimization for Reactive Power Sharing and Stability of Inverter-Based Resources Under Voltage Limits

Reactive power sharing and voltage containment for inverter-based resources (IBRs) are two important but related objectives in inverter-based grids. In this paper, we propose a distributed control technique to achieve these objectives simultaneously. Our controller consists of two components: a purely local nonlinear integral controller that adjusts the IBR voltage setpoint, and a distributed primal-dual optimizer that coordinates reactive power sharing among the IBRs using neighbor-to-neighbor communication. The controller prioritizes the voltage containment objective over reactive power sharing at all times;except for the IBRs with saturated voltages, it provides reactive power sharing among all IBRs. Considering the voltage saturation and the coupling between voltage and angle dynamics, a formal closed-loop stability analysis based on singular perturbation theory is provided, which provides practical tuning guidance for the overall control system. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed controller for different case studies, we apply it to a low-voltage microgrid, the modified CIGRE medium-voltage network benchmark, and the IEEE 33 bus radial distribution system, all simulated in the MATLAB/Simulink environment.

Recently, along with the development of information technology, blockchain technology has been developing all over the world. On the basis of blockchain technology, it will be possible to develop the digital economy, ensure information security, and increase reliability in data exchange. Due to the high potential of blockchain technology, it has led to the study of its wide application in various fields. These processes have led to the creation of blockchain-based systems for various purposes. Some blockchain mechanisms can also be used to increase data reliability in information systems that provide services in computer networks. However, at the same time, most of the blockchain-based systems have several disadvantages related to their performance and security. To solve these shortcomings, it is necessary to improve the security of blockchain-based systems. The main component of any blockchain-based system is its important consensus algorithm, which in many ways makes it possible to ensure the authenticity and security of information. consensus algorithms serve to prove the authenticity of executed transactions. The application of consensus algorithms to the blockchain technology, depending on the functional task, allows to increase the reliability of the data. In this article, the effectiveness of using consensus algorithms based on blockchain mechanisms is studied.

Distributed Output-Feedback consensus Control for Nonlinear Multiagent Systems Subject to Unknown Input Delays

This article considers the distributed output-feedback consensus control problem for nonlinear multiagent systems subject to input delays. Different from the existing related works, the input delay of each agent is described as an unknown time-varying function and is different from each other in this article. To deal with this problem, for each follower, we first construct a novel distributed observer based on the relative output information to asymptotically estimate the state information of the leader, then we introduce a classical observer to asymptotically estimate the state information of the follower based on its output information. By means of two observers, the leader-following consensus problem is transformed into the stability problem of the nonlinear system with unknown input delays. Subsequently, the distributed controller independent of delays is proposed for each follower by the use of the truncated prediction method under some conditions. Based on the Lyapunov stability theory, it is strictly proved that the distributed controller can render all agents achieving consensus. Finally, the effectiveness of the theoretical results is illustrated on the basis of numerical simulations on a group of single-link manipulators.
