Under mobile edge computing (MEC), collaborative computing is a new paradigm to optimize edge network load and server resource allocation. However, there are still issues such as resource imbalance and unreliable identity when collaborative nodes provide computing and caching services for computing devices. Therefore, an efficient and reliable MEC network should be established to manage these challenges. In this paper, a dynamic trusted collaboration scheme is proposed. Specifically, the transaction supervision of nodes in the MEC scenario is first realized through blockchain-based mobile edge computing (BMEC) technology. In BMEC, a management scheme is established laying the foundation for building a trusted MEC environment. Second, a collaborative model is designed. On this basis, it is formulated as an optimization problem based on computing, communication, caching, and energy consumption. The formulation problem is verified to be NP complete. Thus, an improved heuristic algorithm is adopted in this study to solve this problem. Ultimately, the experimental results demonstrate that DTC not only has good performance but also can effectively enhance the reliability of the MEC network compared with other cooperative schemes.

On graphs with finite-time consensus and their use in gradient tracking

This paper studies sequences of graphs satisfying the finite-time consensus property (i.e., iterating through such a finite sequence is equivalent to performing global or exact averaging) and their use in the decentralized optimization algorithm Gradient Tracking. For each of the studied graph sequences, we provide an explicit weight matrix representation and prove their finite-time consensus property. Moreover, we incorporate such topology sequences into Gradient Tracking and present a new algorithmic scheme called Gradient Tracking for Finite-Time consensus Topologies (GT-FT). We analyze the new scheme for nonconvex problems with stochastic gradient estimates. Our analysis shows that the convergence rate of GT-FT does not depend on the heterogeneity of the agents’ functions or the connectivity of any individual graph in the topology sequence. Furthermore, owing to the sparsity of the graphs, GT-FT requires lower communication costs than Gradient Tracking using the static counterpart of the topology sequence. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. Delegated blockchain governance is the frontier of blockchain design issues that is to improve the scalability of blockchain *** proof of stake(DPoS)blockchains such as EOS must select a few super nodes for transaction *** particular,the blockchain community has debated recently on whether dividend should be allowed when electing super nodes,which might be considered as unethical or unfair,leading to an open research topic and a new research gap that has theoretical value for both academia and *** this paper,we build a theoretical framework to study how dividend affects user decisions and welfare in a DPoS *** on game theory,we propose a three-player Hotelling model with two policies to study the behaviors of voters and *** first use a static game analysis to show that the benefits of dividend for voters and for candidates vary with the size of reward and there exists an interval,in which the zero dividend policy would be good for the welfare of both candidates and ***,we use an evolutionary game analysis to examine the process dynamics of super node selection,we find that the campaign strategy of candidates has to do with the size of platform reward given to the candidates by the blockchain *** in the asymmetric case,we find that higher level of platform reward turns to benefit candidates with large number of votes even *** findings are instrumental for designing dividend policies in DPoS blockchains and can stimulate more potential research in blockchain governance.

Distributed control algorithms have been frequently adopted in coordinating multiple power electronics interfaced distributed generators (DGs). This work analyzes how the communication delay effects would degrade the performance of distributed secondary controllers in DC microgrids (MGs). Two types of consensus-based controllers are under study: one is the conventional dynamic consensus-based controller and the other is a novel controller based on the surplus consensus algorithm. The steady-state performance of both controllers is analytically derived with considerations of communication delays. The delay-dependent stability regions of both controllers are analyzed, respectively. As the selected system parameter vary, the corresponding marginal delay that transits the stable system to an unstable one is quantified, and the delay dependent-stability boundary is identified using Kernel Ridge Regression (KRR) algorithm. At last, the proposed work is validated with simulation tests and experimental verification.

Thermostatically controlled loads (TCLs) on the demand side have been a vital energy resource in smart grids. To efficiently utilize the large-scale TCLs and enhance the flexibility of micro-community systems, this paper proposes a distributed coordinated control strategy based on the distributed model predictive control (MPC). To achieve the adaptive coordinated control among TCLs and consider user comfort constraints, a distributed dual-layer internal control strategy based on MPC is established on a scalable communication network. This strategy achieves the efficient utilization of TCLs in a distributed manner and notably improves the convergence speed through sparse network communication between neighbors. For external resource utilization of TCLs, a multi-timescale scheduling framework is proposed to realize the pre-allocation of electricity. Furthermore, the feasibility of the proposed distributed coordinated control strategy is confirmed through comparative case analysis.

With the rapid development of Information Technology (IT) industries, data or information security has become one of the critical issues. Blockchain has several key properties, such as decentralization, immutability and transparency without using a trusted third party. It can be used in several fields, such as healthcare, digital voting, Internet of Things (IoT) and many more. This study aims to discuss the fundamentals of Blockchain. In this paper, the technology or working procedure of Blockchain including many applications in several fields are discussed. Finally, future work directions and open research challenges in the domain of Blockchain have been also discussed in detail.

Efficient Resource Allocation Using Distributed Edge Computing in D2D Based 5G-HCN With Network Slicing

Fifth Generation (5G) cellular networks aim to overcome the pressing demands posed by dynamic Quality of Service (QoS) constraints, which have primarily remained unaddressed using conventional network infrastructure. Cellular networks of the future necessitate the formulation of efficient resource allocation schemes that readily meet throughput requirements. The idea of combining Device-to-Device (D2D), Mobile Edge Computing (MEC), and Network slicing (NS) can improve spectrum utilization with better performance and scalability. This work presents a spectrum efficiency optimization problem in D2D based 5G-Heterogeneous Cellular Network (5G-HCN) with NS. Owing to the shortage of resources, we propose an underlay model where macro-cell users (MUs), small-cell users (SUs), and D2D users (DUs) reuse the resources while considering the effects of interference. The goal is to maximize the average network spectrum efficiency (SE) and throughput without degrading the system performance. The problem at hand is naturally a non-convex mixed-integer non-linear programming (MINLP) problem that is intractable. Therefore, we have suggested a distributed resource allocation strategy with an edge computing (DRA-EC) approach to find the sub-optimal solution. In distributed augmented Lagrange method, each edge router located at BS will solve its problem locally, and the consensus algorithm will find the global solution using these local estimates. The central slice controller will cut the customized network slices according to the bandwidth requirements of each user type with optimized spectrum information. The simulation outcomes prove that our proposed method is near the central optimization scheme with low computational complexity. It is much better because it reduces the computational time and system overhead.

We consider the problem of multiagent optimization wherein an unknown subset of agents suffer Byzantine faults and thus behave adversarially. We assume that each agent i has a local cost function f(i), and the overarching goal of the good agents is to collaboratively minimize a global objective that properly aggregates these local cost functions. To the best of our knowledge, we are among the first to study Byzantine-resilient optimization where no central coordinating agent exists, and we are the first to characterize the structures of the convex coefficients of the achievable global objectives. Dealing with Byzantine faults is very challenging. For example, in contrast to fault-free networks, reaching Byzantine-resilient agreement even in the simplest setting is far from trivial. We take a step toward solving the proposed Byzantine-resilient multiagent optimization problem by focusing on scalar local cost functions. Our results might provide useful insights for the general local cost functions.

We solve a consensus problem for high-order multi-agent systems with matched disturbances. By modeling the disturbance as an extended state, we design an extended state observer to estimate the state and the disturbance of each agent. Using delayed estimated states from neighbors, we design a distributed control law to ensure that all agents achieve a state consensus. Our Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method yields sufficient conditions for asymptotic stability of the multi-agent system under a strongly connected digraph, in terms of an upper bound on the delays. We illustrate our method using a multi-agent system under an interaction topology.

With electronic healthcare systems undergoing rapid change, optimizing the crucial process of recording physician prescriptions is a task with major implications for patient care. The power of blockchain technology and the precision of the Raft consensus algorithm are combined in this article to create a revolutionary solution for this problem. In addition to addressing these issues, the proposed framework, by focusing on the challenges associated with physician prescriptions, is a breakthrough in a new era of security and dependability for the healthcare sector. The Raft algorithm is a cornerstone that improves the diagnostic decision-making process, increases confidence in patients, and sets a new standard for robust healthcare systems. In the proposed consensus algorithm, a weighted sum of two influencing factors including the physician acceptability and inter-physicians’ reliability is used for selecting the participating physicians. An investigation is conducted to see how well the Raft algorithm performs in overcoming prescription-related roadblocks that support a compelling argument for improved patient care. Apart from its technological benefits, the proposed approach seeks to revolutionize the healthcare system by fostering trust between patients and providers. Raft’s ability to communicate presents the proposed solution as an effective way to deal with healthcare issues and ensure security. © The Author(s) 2024.
