Blockchain technology, due to its decentralized, traceable, and tamper-resistant characteristics, has been applied in a wide range of collaborative computing scenarios, including smart grid, industrial production, and smart cities. consensus algorithm, as the key blockchain technology, plays a decisive role in terms of performance, security, and scalability, ensuring that system nodes reach consensus on transaction data. However, with the increase of user nodes and the diversity of application scenarios, existing consensus algorithms face some performance and security challenges. To overcome these challenges, this article proposes a novel blockchain consensus mechanism, namely the Reputation-Aware Randomization consensus algorithm (RRCA). The proposed mechanism first constructs a dynamic reputation evaluation model to divide nodes into ordinary ones and candidate ones. Secondly, a selection model is constructed for candidate nodes to select consensus nodes, which run the consensus algorithm. Finally, a random selection mechanism for the leader node of the proposed consensus algorithm is constructed to ensure the unpredictability and reduce the probability of the leader node being subjected to malicious attacks. Theoretical analysis and experimental results indicate that the RRCA can significantly reduce consensus latency and increase the unpredictability of the leader node, which improves the performance and security of blockchain systems.

Blockchain technology is becoming more and more popular, but performance problems have always troubled it, especially the scale of distributed networks is limited. Like Practical Byzantine consensus algorithm (PBFT), the main bottlenecks are concentrated in the scope of consensus too small, and the communication is too high. In order to implement PBFT in large-scale systems such as large-scale IoT ecosystems and blockchains, this paper proposes a reputation-based two-layer improved PBFT consensus computing model DT-PBFT. In order to better combine with the large -scale Internet of Things ecosystem, we give each node regional location, communication capacity, computing power and other related attributes to each involvement, so that Client nodes can input node attributes as parameters into the reputation calculation algorithm, to select the master node of each layer in the double-layer consensus model. Determining the master node through reputation improves the credibility of the consensus algorithm. At the same time, the DTPBFT cancels the Pre-Prepare stage, reducing communication complexity. Finally, this paper transforms the existing PBFT algorithm on the Fabric platform to implement the DT-PBFT consensus algorithm and compares its performance with traditional PBFT, proving that DT-PBFT has the best balance and excellent comprehensive performance in large-scale IoT application scenarios.

Distributed energy storage units (DESUs) are usually used in DC microgrids to maintain the internal power balance of the microgrid, but the unbalanced state of charge (SOC) of the energy storage unit will shorten the life of DESUs. In this paper, an adaptive droop control strategy with secondary control for DC microgrids is presented. This control approach incorporates the SOC equalization technique into the droop coefficient of the energy storage device to achieve the power balance while achieving the quick balance of SOC of the DESUs. An improved proportional integral average consistency algorithm is provided for calculating the average SOC and managing the voltage to solve the problem of steady-state inaccuracy caused by communication delay in the previous consensus algorithm, while also improving the convergence speed and power distribution accuracy of the DC microgrid. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the control strategy.

This article presents a particular class of consensus algorithms for multi-agent systems of continuous-time single integrators communicating over a shared broadcast channel. To deal with the problem of interference and packet collision, we consider a time-division multiple access (TDMA) protocol represented by a switching topology where only one agent can transmit at a time. A Lyapunov function is proposed to prove the exponential convergence of this class of consensus algorithms under mild assumptions. We also provide an explicit bound for the consensus errors that depends on the communication protocol parameters.

With the advent of advanced communication technologies like 5G and the emergence of the Internet of Everything, there is a growing potential to leverage public communication networks for mission-critical applications. Traditionally, these applications have depended on private, narrowband networks such as TETRA and P25. The latest communication protocols and architectures promise specific levels of latency and reliability even during the negotiation phase. Concurrently, the increasing deployment of sensors for Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) offers access to vast data volumes at low costs and near real-time capabilities when required. This paper highlights the significant benefits of integrating these two paradigms in the context of Earthquake Early Warning (EEW) systems. Utilizing existing earthquake propagation models and recorded seismic data, we have developed a new simulator tailored to mimic a densely packed sensor network environment. We introduce a consensus algorithm that processes the initial milliseconds of data collected by sensors nearest to the earthquake’s hypocenter. An alert is then promptly issued. Our results indicate substantial improvements in reducing the time to relay warnings, thereby significantly diminishing the extent of the blind zone, where warnings arrive too late, in EEW systems.

In a DC microgrid, one of the most important issues is appropriate current sharing among converters which is commonly addressed by droop control in a decentralized fashion. However, there is a tradeoff between accurate current sharing and bus voltage regulation. This paper proposes a unified cooperative secondary control scheme which can achieve the two objectives using one integrator and one communication variable, which is communicated using a discrete-time dynamic consensus algorithm (DCA). The influence of control and electrical parameters on the system stability are investigated by eigenvalue contours after a linearized state-space model is built. Simulations on MATLAB/Simulink verify the performance of the proposed method under load changes and communication link failure.

Zero Trust Model ensures each node is responsible for the approval of the transaction before it gets committed. The data owners can track their data while it's shared amongst the various data custodians ensuring data security. The consensus algorithm enables the users to trust the network as malicious nodes fail to get approval from all nodes, thereby causing the transaction to be aborted. The use case chosen to demonstrate the proposed consensus algorithm is the college placement system. The algorithm has been extended to implement a diversified, decentralized, automated placement system, wherein the data owner i.e. the student, maintains an immutable certificate vault and the student's data has been validated by a verifier network i.e. the academic department and placement department. The data transfer from student to companies is recorded as transactions in the distributed ledger or blockchain allowing the data to be tracked by the student.

In recent years, user-side energy storage has developed rapidly and is widely used to save electricity costs for industrial and commercial users. Compared with source-side and grid-side centralised energy storage, user-side energy storage is more decentralised, with smaller single capacity and larger quantity, which is not easy to carry out centralised regulation and control. In contrast, the distributed control method has the characteristics of strong control robustness and stability, which is more suiTABLE as the SOC coordinated control of a large number of distributed energy storage. In this paper, a distributed energy storage SOC coordinated control algorithm based on improved consensus algorithm is designed, which can achieve SOC consensus control of multiple user-side energy storage, and compared with the centralised control scheme, it has the features of small computation amount of the central controller and strong robustness of the controller. Simulation results show that the distributed energy storage SOC coordinated control algorithm based on the improved consensus algorithm designed in this paper can effectively achieve the consistent control of multiple user-side energy storage in the station area.

consensus issues play an important role in coordinated control of multi-agent systems. It means that the agents communicate with each other and use the coordination algorithm to make the system reach a stable and consistent state. consensus algorithms are widely used in engineering, one of which is micro-grid control. Firstly, the application of frequency and voltage control in the micro-grid system is analyzed and summarized. Secondly, the application of the consensus algorithm in the energy management control of the micro-grid is summarized. Finally, combined with voltage frequency control and energy management, the prospects of the application of consensus algorithm in micro-grid control are summarized.

In dc microgrids, load power sharing and bus voltage regulation are two common control objectives. In this article, a consensus-based algorithm is presented to achieve proportional power sharing and regulation of weighted geometric mean of bus voltages in dc microgrids with ZIP (constant impedance, constant current, and constant power) loads simultaneously. By using the virtue of the Laplacian matrices of undirected connected graphs, a lemma is derived to assist the stability analysis of the dc microgrids. Thus, a sufficient condition that stabilizes the system with ZIP loads is established. In addition, with the help of a distributed voltage regulation error estimator, the tuning of the bus voltages can be realized without the requirement on initial voltage conditions. Through the Lyapunov synthesis, the large-signal stability of the closed-loop system is theoretically ensured for a wide range of load conditions. Finally, simulation studies are performed to validate the merits of the proposed consensus-based algorithm.
