Differential Evolution-Based Sample consensus algorithm for the Matching of Remote Sensing Optical Images With Affine Geometric Differences

Optical image matching has been a recent trend in the field of remote sensing image processing. It is considered as a challenging problem due to the existence of significant geometric variations as well as intensity differences between the images. Scale invariant feature transform (SIFT) is one of the most effective schemes to handle these factors. However, it produces many false matches in the matching of the remote sensing images which effect its performance. In order to address this issue, a novel Differential Evolution-based Sample consensus algorithm (DESCA) is proposed to eliminate these false matches and retain the correct matches. The proposed DESCA scheme is very effective for the images having significant affine geometric differences. It has the ability to provide more correct matches. Several sets of remote sensing optical image pairs are used to test the performance of the proposed method. It obtains the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) value in the range of 0.67 to 0.95 pixels which indicates that the sub-pixel accuracy is achieved. The experimental results show that the proposed method provides more correct matching pairs and better mutual information (MI) values than the state-of-the-art methods.

Adaptive Harmonic Impedance Reshaping Control Strategy Based on a consensus algorithm for Harmonic Sharing and Power Quality Improvement in Microgrids With Complex Feeder Networks

In islanded microgrids with complex feeder networks, distributed generation units (DGs) and loads can be freely connected to any node, leading to changes in the feeder impedance between nodes and the microgrid structure. However, traditional harmonic sharing control methods encounter difficulties with microgrids with complex topologies. Additionally, existing techniques essentially require constructing additional harmonic virtual impedance, possibly resulting in conflict between voltage quality and harmonic sharing effectiveness. To address this issue, this paper proposes an adaptive harmonic impedance reshaping method based on a consensus algorithm. The proposed method adaptively reshapes the inverter harmonic impedance by introducing harmonic current feedforward compensation control and impedance reshaping factor adaptive control, which can achieve accurate harmonic sharing while greatly improving the voltage quality of the microgrid. The proposed method avoids constructing additional harmonic virtual impedance and can be applied to microgrids with complex feeder networks and variable structures without acquiring prior microgrid configuration knowledge. Moreover, the proposed method is a fully distributed control, where the microgrid central controller (MGCC) is not required. Furthermore, the control parameter design method based on modeling and stability analysis is discussed in detail. Finally, simulations and experiments verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.

Decentralized Energy Management of Microgrid Based on Blockchain-Empowered consensus algorithm With Collusion Prevention

The concern for privacy and scalability has motivated a paradigm shift to decentralized energy management methods in microgrids. The absence of a central authority brings significant challenges to promote trusted collaboration and avoid collusion. To address these issues, this paper proposes a blockchain-empowered microgrid energy management framework, which adopts a novel consensus-based algorithm with a collusion prevention mechanism. Aiming at social welfare maximization, the energy management problem is formulated into a convex and decomposable form, which can be solved in a decentralized manner. To prevent the collusion between malicious agents, we propose a random information transmission mechanism empowered by the blockchain smart contract to replace the time-invariant communication topology. The consensus-based algorithm is extended to obtain the optimal solution of the energy management problem on the random and time-varying communication topology. We theoretically proved that the proposed algorithm converges to the global optimal solution with a probability of 1, without violating the physical constraints of individual agents. The effectiveness of the proposed method was validated by multiple experiments, both within the simulation environment and on a hardware system.

Robust consensus algorithm for multi-agent systems with exogenous disturbances under convergence conditions

In this paper, a robust consensus algorithm is developed and sufficient conditions for convergence to consensus are proposed for a multi-agent system (MAS) with exogenous disturbances subject to partial information. By utilizing H-infinity robust control, differential game theory and a design-based approach, the consensus problem of the MAS with exogenous bounded interference is resolved and the disturbances are restrained, simultaneously. Attention is focused on designing an H-infinity robust controller (the robust consensus algorithm) based on minimisation of our proposed rational and individual cost functions according to goals of the MAS. Furthermore, sufficient conditions for convergence of the robust consensus algorithm are given. An example is employed to demonstrate that our results are effective and more capable to restrain exogenous disturbances than the existing literature.

Cyber-physical systems and the Internet of things (IoT) are becoming an integral part of the digital society. The use of IoT services improves human life in many ways. Protection against cyber threats is an utmost important prospect of IoT devices operation. Malicious activities lead to confidential data leakage and incorrect performance of devices becomes critical. Therefore, development of effective solutions that can protect both IoT devices data and data exchange networks turns in to a real challenge. This study provides a critical analysis of the feasibility of using blockchain technology to protect constrained IoT devices data, justifies the choice of Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance (PBFT) consensus algorithm for implementation on such devices, and simulates the main distributed ledger scenarios using PBFT. In this paper we investigate typical IoT network scenarios that can disrupt system performance. To ensure the adequacy of the models under study, we have analyzed the characteristics of real constrained IoT devices in terms of computing power and data rate. The simulation results demonstrate efficiency of the blockchain technology for constrained devices and make it possible to evaluate applicability limits of the chosen consensus algorithm.

Vehicle-to-vehicle communication is an important part of the modern intelligent transportation system. Most of the existing vehicle networks are based on central structures, which are prone to single point of failures, and may consequently result in system paralysis. In order to increase the network fault tolerance and maintain the stability of the network system, the authors propose a vehicle network model based on the peer-to-peer (P2P) network. In this model, the base station and the roadside units will no longer be necessary facilities. The vehicles can be used as relays to directly participate in the exchange and transfer of information. The relay nodes (vehicles) are selected based on the degree distribution and the consensus algorithm. The real-time capability, efficiency and cost effectiveness of the proposed P2P model is verified through experimental results.

CoMM: a consensus algorithm for multi-agent-based manufacturing system to deal with perturbation

The emergence of Cyber Physical System has dramatically impacted the use of traditionally centralized control system in responding to unexpected events. Rush order is a quite common unexpected event in the current dynamic market characteristics and has significant perturbing ability to a centrally predictive schedule. This paper is aimed to propose a consensus algorithm for multi-agent-based manufacturing system (CoMM) to control the rush order and henceforth minimize a makespan. consensus is an algorithmic procedure applied in control theory which allows convergence of state between locally autonomous agents collaborating for their common goal. Leader-follower communication approach was used among the multi-agent to deal with the perturbing event. Each agent decides when to broadcast its state to neighbor agents, and the controlling decision depends on the behavior of this state. The consensus algorithm is initially modeled by networking all contributing agents. After this, it is validated with simulation experiment based on academic full-sized ap plication platform called TRACILOGIS platform. The results showed that the consensus algorithm has significantly minimized the impact of rush order on makespan of manufacturing orders launched on a system.

Q-Learning Improved Lightweight consensus algorithm for Blockchain-Structured Internet of Things

Security and trust have become the key issues in the Internet of Things (IoT) environment. Characterized by the centralized control and high-energy consumption, the traditional trust management schemes are not suitable for the IoT systems, in which most of the interactions are short-duration, random and maybe one-time, and the terminal devices always have resource constraints. Therefore, this article proposes a distributed and two-layered trust management framework based on blockchain architecture for IoT. The hierarchical architecture of the cloud, the edge, the IoT subgroups, and devices solves the resource limitation problem and improves the privacy protection of the IoT applications. And a novel lightweight Q-learning improved DPoS consensus algorithm named QV-DPoS is proposed to solve the problems of large energy consumption and high complexity of consensus mechanism of blockchain. Ethereum is used to build a blockchain-based IoT prototype system, and some experiments were designed to verify whether the proposed platform can successfully conduct trust management and achieve identity and behavior authentication between the IoT entities. Moreover, the simulation experiments based on NetLogo is also designed to test the performance of the trust and consensus mechanisms. The results of the experiments show that the proposed mechanisms can effectively enhance the credibility of the interactions in the IoT environments, improve the transaction success rate, and reduce energy consumption at least 10% compared with the traditional algorithms.

Optimal consensus algorithm integrated with obstacle avoidance

This article proposes a new consensus algorithm for the networked single-integrator systems in an obstacle-laden environment. A novel optimal control approach is utilised to achieve not only multi-agent consensus but also obstacle avoidance capability with minimised control efforts. Three cost functional components are defined to fulfil the respective tasks. In particular, an innovative nonquadratic obstacle avoidance cost function is constructed from an inverse optimal control perspective. The other two components are designed to ensure consensus and constrain the control effort. The asymptotic stability and optimality are proven. In addition, the distributed and analytical optimal control law only requires local information based on the communication topology to guarantee the proposed behaviours, rather than all agents' information. The consensus and obstacle avoidance are validated through simulations.

Research on the strategies for collision avoidance of multi-UAV with three dimensional formation in combination of consensus algorithm and uniform flow

The paper proposes the method of uniform flow loading the improved consensus algorithm to achieve obstacle avoidance for multi-UAV with 3-D formation. In view of that the flow function is generally only applicable to two dimensional flow field, dimension reduction is to treat multi-UAV formation as each UAV flows around along the circular surface of the projected cylinder of spherical obstacle at its different heights. To formation guaranteeing the smooth realization of obstacle avoidance of multi-UAV formation centered on the leader, it is used the tactics of virtually expanding the radius of these static or moving equivalent cylindrical obstacles to reserve a certain space. The innovation of this strategy is to further reduce the possibility of collision between UAV formation and the edge of obstacles, meanwhile the problem of multi-UAV formation avoiding obstacles is transformed into the problem of collision avoidance navigation for the leader treated as a particle. It is considered collision avoidance for multi-UAV formation under three scenarios assumed are the most common situations, and the simulation experimental results of these scenarios are demonstrated on the validity of the designed experiments based on these algorithms.
