Aiming at the slow convergence rate and the high mean square error of constant modulus algorithm(CMA) ,a new orthogonal Wavelet Transform based Sign Decision Dual-mode blind equalization algorithm(WT-SDDA) is *** the proposed algorithm,orthogonal Wavelet Transform based constant modulus algorithm (WT-CMA) is integrated with orthogonal Wavelet Transform based Stop-and-Go Changeable modulus blind equalization algorithm (WT-SG-CMA),and the switch process is decided by the sign *** tests with underwater acoustic channel shows that the proposed WT-SDDA algorithm outperforms the CMA and the WT-CMA in the convergence rates and residual mean square error and that it has the faster convergence rate than the WT-SG-CMA under condition of the same residual error.

An interference suppression receiver based on constant modulus algorithm (CMA) and adaptive cancelling technique is developed in this paper. The constant modulus algorithm is used to extract the reference signal from mixed signal and adaptive canceller is used to subtract the constantmodulus interference The experimental results show that the system is applicable and effective.

Blind Adaptive Step-size constant modulus algorithm (AS-CMA) for multiuser detection in DS-CDMA systems is presented. It combines the CMA and the concept of variable step-size, uses a second LMS algorithm for the step size. It adjusts the step-size according to the minimum output-energy principle within a specified range, thus overcomes the problems of bad effect of fixed step-size LMS algorithm. Compared with Adaptive Step-size LMS (AS-LMS) algoritilrn, through simulations, this algorithm can adapt the changes of the environment, suppress multiple access interference in the dynamic environment and the stability of Signal to Interference Ratio (SIR) is superior to that of AS-LMS.

We consider the problem of blind equalization of a finite impulse response and single-input multiple-output system driven by an M-ary phase-shift-keying signal. The existing singlemode'algorithms for this problem include the constant modulus algorithm (CMA) and the multimodulusalgorithm (MMA). It has been shown that the MMA outperforms the CMA when the input signal has no more than four constellation points, i.e., M <= 4. In this brief, we present a new adaptive equalization algorithm that jointly exploits the amplitude and phase information of the input signal. Theoretical analysis shows that the proposed algorithm has less mean square error, i.e., better equalization performance, at steady state than the CMA regardless of the value of M. The superior performance of our algorithm to the CMA and the NIMA is validated by simulation examples.

Most of the cost functions used for blind equalization are non -con vex and non -linear functions of tap weights, when implemented using linear finite impulse response (FIR) filter structures. Thus, a blind equalization scheme with a non -linear structure that can form non -convex decision regions is desirable. In this paper, a scheme for blind equalization of non-stationary channels using complex valued feed-forward neural network is presented. The complex valued activation function, suitable for non-stationary environment is introduced and the learning algorithm based on the constant modulus algorithm (CMA) cost function is derived. The improved performance of the proposed scheme is confirmed through computer simulations.

We propose a convex combination of two blind equalizers adapted respectively by CMA (constant modulus algorithm) and SWA (Shalvi-Weinstien algorithm). The performance of the proposed scheme is, in the worst case, as good as that of the best of its components. This behavior provides a good tracking capability, since both CMA or SWA may have a better tracking performance, depending on the kind of nonstationary environment. A steady-state analysis (using energy conservation) is also presented, considering both the proposed scheme, and the convex combination of two CMAs.

A two phase decision feedback equalizer (DFE) has been proposed for block QAM signals. This equalizer operates initially in blind mode, and then switches to a decision feedback mode once the error level in the equalizer output is determined to be low enough for successful equalization. In this work an automatic condition for switching between these two modes is introduced, which is based on a threshold test of a simple easily computed measure called the' block average variance'. The blind CMA+AMA equalizer [3] is used to initialize the DFE scheme, and performance evaluation results are presented for a random channel. Performance is evaluated using average symbol error rate (SER). Application of this equalizer to the case of a SIMO channel is discussed.

A new anti-jamming method is proposed combining adaptive array with direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) techniques in mobile satellite communication system. Different with the conventional depreading process, the proposed method modifies DSSS despreador, in which the output data are blindly processed. It overcomes the problem that DSSS signal often has very lower SNR, which is difficult to be captured in constantmodulus array processing, especially when strong interference/jamming signals exist coincidentally.
