ANALYSIS OF A CANDIDATE control algorithm FOR A RIDE-QUALITY AUGMENTATION SYSTEM

This paper presents a detailed anaylsis of a candidate algorithm for a ride-quality augmentation system. The algorithm consists of a full-state feedback control law based On optimal control output weighting, estimators for angle of attack and sideslip, and a maneuvering algorithm. The control law is shown to perform well by both frequency and time domain analysis. The rms vertical acceleration is reduced by about 40% over the whole mission flight envelope. The estimators for the angle of attack and sideslip avoid the often inaccurate or costly direct measurement of those angles. The maneuvering algorithm will allow the augmented airplane to respond to pilot inputs. The design characteristics and performance are documented by the closed-loop eigenvalues;rms levels of vertical, lateral, and longitudinal acceleration;and representative time histories and frequency response. © 1980 American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Inc. For some optical tracking measurement systems, because their size, weight and space structure are very strict restrictions, DC servo motors have to drive the loads through the several stages of gear transmission. For such a nonlinear controlled object, it is difficult to obtain acceptable control performance applying the traditional controller design method. In the paper, firstly, establish such a non-linear system dynamic model, and consider intelligent control algorithm to inhibit mechanical resonance effect for the control system performance. In order to achieve real-time control easily, the paper suggests a fuzzy numeric model with the self-regulating factor based on analytic expression for such a non-linear system. The result demonstrates that the fuzzy controller is very effective in applications. This work provides a new thought for a controller design to inhibit the low mechanical resonance frequency.

Segmented pseudo-differential feedback control algorithm for special vehicle motor drive systems

To enhance the stability, reliability, and efficiency, reduce the operation cycle time, and augment the operation security capability of fully electric and intelligent military special vehicles, a novel segmented pseudo-differential feedback (PDF) control algorithm for the permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) of special vehicles is introduced. The control algorithm optimizes the differential part of the control system and avoids the direct differential calculation. This enhances the dynamic response and anti-interference capability of the control system, ensuring a rapid and robust performance. At the same time, the control system parameters are determined based on the error and the rate of change of the error in a segmented manner, ensuring precise control of specialized vehicles under various operating conditions. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed control algorithm, a simulation model is established for simulation analysis;an experimental platform is built for experimental verification. Both simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the proposed control algorithm exhibits notable advantages, including a rapid output response, and the absence of overshoot and oscillation. These characteristics effectively enhance the motor efficiency, optimize the output attributes, and elevate the overall operational performance of electric special vehicles.

A novel Dual-Magnetic circuit actuated Fast-Switching valve with Multi-Stage excitation control algorithm

Solenoid type fast-switching valve is the commonly used control element in digital hydraulics, and its magnetic circuit is completely composed of soft magnetic materials. The current research primarily focuses on reducing the response time of the valve, but it neglects the influence of the relationship between the opening and closing response times on the control accuracy. However, it faces the issue of opening and closing processes asymmetry aggravated by coil severe heating and various operating pressures, which would lead to flow errors and restrict control accuracy. Hence, this paper proposed a novel dual-magnetic circuit actuated fast-switching valve (DAFV) with a multi-stage excitation control algorithm (MSEC). The DAFV utilizes a permanent magnet (PM) to maintain the open state without electrical, avoiding large temperature rises. The variable excitation control of MSEC is achieved by precisely adjusting the duty cycle of both the delay and movement stages, ensuring stability and symmetry in response time. Among in, the duty cycles are set online for each stage to adapt to the operating pressure and target response time. The experiment shows that the response times of opening and closing almost remain the same at approximately 1.16 ms under different operating pressures. The relative flow error is reduced to within 4.1 %, while the maximum temperature rise is 15 degree celsius.

Deepwater drilling has the problem of narrow safe density window, and double-layer pipe dual-gradient drilling is one of the effective ways to solve the narrow safe density window. Due to the different structure and process principle with MPD, there is an urgent need to establish the hydraulic model and control algorithm of doublelayer pipe dual-gradient drilling in order to realize the normal regulation of bottom hole pressure during drilling. Based on the hydraulic theory of managed pressure drilling and considering the influence of the threechannel structure of double-layer pipe and the downhole hydraulic lift pump in double-layer pipe dualgradient drilling, a hydraulic model of double-layer pipe dual-gradient drilling has been established and verified in land well tests. Based on the double-layer pipe dual-gradient drilling hydraulic model, a control algorithm based on pressure regulation and flow rate regulation is established considering the principle of double-layer pipe dual-gradient drilling process. The simulation results show that the control algorithm based on flow rate regulation can greatly reduce the bottom hole pressure regulation time by controlling the size of the flow rate of the return fluid. When the bottom hole pressure is increased from 25 MPa to 26 MPa, the regulation time is 11min, which basically meets the requirements of field operation. The hydraulic model and control algorithm of double-layer pipe dual-gradient drilling are favorable to the bottom hole pressure regulation during drilling and reduce the response time.

Energy and comfort evaluation of a novel hybrid control algorithm for smart electrochromic windows: A simulation study

It is estimated that about 79% of the energy consumption in buildings is related to lighting, cooling, and heating. On the other hand, studies showed that the use of smart electrochromic windows by controlling the solar radiation entering the building can affect the energy consumption in buildings. Each smart electrochromic window consists of two basic parts, the electrochromic coating and the control algorithm, which can be modified to improve its energy efficiency. In this study, a hybrid control algorithm is introduced to manage the transparency status of the smart electrochromic window, which uses different algorithms according to the user's presence in the building. When the user is in the building, a just-in-time control algorithm is used, and when the user is not in the building, the value of the decision variable is predicted for future time steps using a deep learning model. Considering the 15-minute time-step, the energy consumption of a building in the mentioned sections was simulated for 6 different climate classes in Iran in 2019. In this study, Fanger's PMV thermal comfort index was used as the decision variable and the results showed that when this index is in [ -0.5, + 0.5], the electrochromic window should be transparent. The results showed that the deep learning model must have 5000 nodes and 10 hidden layers to achieve a stable accuracy and the best results were only due to the forecast of the next 15 min. Finally, the results showed that the proposed hybrid control algorithm has been able to increase energy-saving in the mentioned sections of the studied building by at least 26.12% (averagely 31.02%) in all studied climate classes. Also, performing a Pearson Correlation Analysis showed that the hybrid control algorithm was sensitive to the annual indices of maximum temperature, mean temperature, relative humidity, day length, daily sunshine, and global horizontal irradiation. Interpolation control algorithm for a three-RPS parallel spindle head

A five-axis computer numerical control hybrid machine tool composed mainly of a three-RPS parallel spindle head with one translation and two rotations is investigated;because of its unique machining characteristics, this machine tool has been applied to high-efficiency aerospace monolithic component processing, and its trajectory control is one of the core technologies underpinning its efficacy. This research investigates a new type of five-axis hybrid machine tool which is loaded with a three-RPS parallel spindle head and finds a cutter orientation interpolation algorithm which can ensure its high-precision, and high-speed, operation in machining processes. First, the kinematic model of the hybrid machine tool is established using the vector chain method. Using this model, the virtual reality mapping relationship between the control axis space and the operating space is established. Then a control algorithm governing two interpolation strategies in the operation and joint spaces is proposed;this method disperses the cutter vector in the workspace. Through the mapping relationship, the point data array in the joint space can be obtained from the machining data which are calculated from the mapping model, and then the improved three B-spline interpolation method is used in the joint space. Thereafter, the post-machining module outputs the interpolation data to the motor, and the moving platform can realise the desired tool path. Finally, using the hybrid machine tool for the machining of an S' test-piece, the results prove the feasibility and effectiveness of the interpolation algorithm. The experiment indicates that the interpolation algorithm can be used in this kind of parallel machine tool control system.

Assembly oriented control algorithm of collaborative disassembly and assembly operation in collaborative virtual maintenance process

Maintenance data and information processing is an essential and important problem in collaborative virtual maintenance of complex equipments. Significant research has been done in this paper to provide an efficient approach to performing the data and information processing of collaborative virtual disassembly and assembly operations. Assembly oriented mathematical model of collaborative virtual maintenance operation process is presented with the behavior representation and information description of each component in an assembly based on single object oriented modeling of collaborative maintenance operation as well as assembly oriented modeling of disassembly and assembly operations. Assembly oriented control algorithms of disassembly and assembly operations in collaborative virtual maintenance process are also designed to perform the required data and information processing. With the object information template based on Extensible Markup Language, proposed mathematical models and control algorithms are utilized in a technical experiment system with high reliability and efficiency. Experimental implementation has been done to find appropriate and efficient mathematical models and control algorithms can support effectively the data and information processing of collaborative virtual disassembly and assembly operations of complex products. Methodologies developed in this paper extend the previous work on mathematical modeling and information processing complexity, and improve the reliability and efficiency of required data and information processing in collaborative virtual maintenance process. Intelligent control algorithm for industrial robots when performing the assembly operation of cylindrical non-rigid parts

When developing robotic assembly technology, it is necessary to use intelligent algorithms that control the assembly process online. One of the tasks that has been little studied so far is the assembly of cylindrical non-rigid parts. Mathematical models of the coupling stages during robotic assembly have been developed, which are necessary for the identification of the signals of the force-torque sensor. The obtained analytical solutions make it possible to determine the conditions for the occurrence of jamming of the non-rigid shaft during two-point contact during the coupling of the shaft with a rigid sleeve. The obtained values of deflections and angles of rotation allow us to correct the movement of the output link of the robot during the assembly operation. A mathematical model is presented for solving the problem of determining the current contact state during assembly using the support vector machine method when obtaining information about the position coordinates by the control system of an industrial robot and forces from a force-torque sensor. The algorithm was tested on an IRB-140 industrial robot with an IRC5 controller equipped with an FTN-AXIA80 SI500-20 Ethernet force-torque sensor from Schunk.

EFFECTIVE APPROXIMATIONS SUITABLE FOR THE control algorithm OF MICROPROCESSOR-BASED CYCLOCONVERTOR

Two approximation methods for simplifying the control algorithm of cycloconvertor control are obtained from studies in a phase plane called a ‘time process chart’. One is a simple straight line approximation, in which only arithmetic operations are involved, and one can avoid the use of trigonometric or inverse trigonometric functions. The other is also a straightline approximation, but some function tables are used in combination, to improve the accuracy of approximation. To evaluate the accuracy, the theoretical output waveform obtained by each of the above approximations is analysed using the DFT method. Results of the analysis show that both approximations can be used effectively for the control algorithm, and that the second method, in particular, is highly accurate. Requiring only simple procedures in application, both of the two proposed methods can be used for microprocessor-based control with advantage.
