With the rapid development of the society, space utilization is constantly increasing, and the building height is also increasing rapidly, the problems of wall surface cleaning, damage detection and equipment maintenance are coming up. Using robots to replace human tasks can not only reduce the risk and cost but also improve the efficiency of the operation. Glass wall cleaning robot with negative pressure type double suction cup can move smoothly by sliding friction between suckers and glasses, therefore, by studying a reliable control algorithm, the robot can be controlled to move smoothly on the glass wall, at the same time, the glasses can be cleaned by the cleaning devices. In order to solve the obstacle avoidance and balance problem, a glass wall cleaning robot controlled by ATMEGA128A is proposed. Through designing the core algorithms such as mobile module algorithm, adsorption system algorithm etc., the robot can complete the scheduled cleaning tasks. The experiments of the designed glass wall cleaning robot prototype show that this glass wall cleaning robot designed here can clean wall, which can meet the realization requirements, and the given control algorithms are fast and stable.

The paper proposes a methodological approach to manage the electric vehicles recharging in an isolated power system characterized by low short circuit power. Focusing on harmonic disturbances, current harmonics injected in the network depend on the specific EV power converter. The model carried out allows for the evaluation of harmonic disturbances under variable conditions for non-linear loads and their harmonic spectra. The methodology allows estimating both current and voltage total harmonic distortion (THDV, THDI) at the point of common coupling (PCC). An algorithm able to manage and control the EV charging in a parking area has been developed in order to keep the THDV under a threshold limit.

This work investigates the dynamic tunable and reconfigurable control of an inverted pendulum model implemented in MATLAB by using FPGA in-the-loop (FIL). A state-based controller is implemented to maintain the pendulum in the upright position. In order to reduce the number of sensors, an Extended Kalman Filter (EKF) is implemented which reconstructs the missing states. Initially, the pendulum is in the equilibrium position and a PID-controller is required to move the pendulum to the upright position. Different variants of a feedback controller like P/PI/PD/PID-controller have been designed in order to fulfill this change of position which can be added or removed from the design by using dynamic partial reconfiguration. The main benefit of the proposed technique is that FIL can be used to validate the controller with the simulation model before using it with a real inverted pendulum system. Furthermore, the hardware controller can be fine-tuned and reconfigured at runtime for time-variant systems. In case of sensor malfunction, the methodology can still be used to control the model because of the state reconstruction through EKF.

This paper aims to present a comprehensive review of the distribution static compensator connected with solar photovoltaic (SPV) system employed for voltage regulation, power factor correction, and load balancing in the distribution network. The inverter employed with SPV system for supplying active power to the grid/load can be made multifunctional i.e. it also serves as DSTATCOM when SPV power is not available (The arrangement is called PV-DSTATCOM). The Photo-controlled deformable mirror (PCDM) presents an interesting alternative to the conventional deformable mirror technologies as it addresses their two major bottlenecks. It offers enormous spatial resolution while keeping its complexity low due to its elegant control of the deformable surface by light projection. The PCDM prototype was a membrane type deformable mirror driven by a modified commercial mini-projector. Unique properties of PCDM allowed experimental study of actuator array disposition influence on the wavefront shaping performance of the deformable mirror. While keeping all other aspects and parameters of the experiment constant, the four actuator-array configurations were compared and resulting wavefront shaping performance assessed. Moreover, the Photo-controlled deformable mirror was numerically modelled and the experimental results were reproduced with high degree of fidelity. By using the numerical model of PCDM, a novel method to control high spatial resolution wavefront corrector was studied with promising results.

A mathematical model of the switched reluctance generator is developed, taking into account losses in windings, magnetic losses and core saturation. The adequacy of the model is verified by comparing the instantaneous values of the phase currents of the proposed model with the known one. The methods of generator voltage stabilization by changing the commutation angles and by regulating the average value of the stator winding current are investigated, the advantages and drawbacks of each method are analyzed. It is recommended to use in practice more efficient method of adjusting the average value of the stator current.

This paper developed an algorithm that controls the supply air temperature in the variable refrigerant flow (VRF), outdoor air processing unit (OAP) system, according to indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity, and verified the effects after applying the algorithm to real buildings. The VRF-OAP system refers to a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system to complement a ventilation function, which is not provided in the VRF system. It is a system that supplies air indoors by heat treatment of outdoor air through the OAP, as a number of indoor units and OAPs are connected to the outdoor unit in the VRF system simultaneously. This paper conducted experiments with regard to changes in efficiency and the cooling capabilities of each unit and system according to supply air temperature in the OAP using a multicalorimeter. Based on these results, an algorithm that controlled the temperature of the supply air in the OAP was developed considering indoor and outdoor temperatures and humidity. The algorithm was applied in the test building to verify the effects of energy reduction and the effects on indoor temperature and humidity. Loads were changed by adjusting the number of conditioned rooms to verify the effect of the algorithm according to various load conditions. In the field test results, the energy reduction effect was approximately 15-17% at a 100% load, and 4-20% at a 75% load. However, no significant effects were shown at a 50% load. The indoor temperature and humidity reached a comfortable level.

A new algorithm for controlling a multielement mirror of a large telescope is considered and justified in the general case for a large number of joints between rows of elements. It is intended for the creation of an effective unified control system for several objects under the constraints of budget error limits. A version of this algorithm is suggested in the autostabilization system of the Millimetron telescope. An error in the relative positioning of the elements is estimated and the sensor positions are detected. The results confirm quite successful the applicability of this control algorithm as a part of the adaptation contour of large telescopes with multielement primary mirrors.

In this paper, an advanced control algorithm in single-phase active rectifier for reduction of grid current harmonics is presented. In addition to PI current controller, three advanced types of controllers are investigated: resonant, discrete cosine transforms (DCT) and repetitive controller. These controllers are able to effectively reduce harmonics, caused by periodic disturbances. A simulation model has been built to test the proposed algorithms. Simulation results confirm significant improvement in grid current harmonic content, achieved by these advanced current controllers. Analysis of memory usage and computing power requirements is also provided.
