Measurement errors corrupting the data of an empirical Bode plot of a causal system (log-amplitude and phase, versus frequency) can be minimized by taking into account the theoretical redundancy of such data in the ideal (noise-free) case, wherein each plot is the Hilbert transform of the other. An explicit closed-form analytical solution of the problem of least-mean-square fit of reciprocal Hibert-transform pairs to the measured data is derived, and illustrative examples are presented.

This paper reviews the basic features of a high-level, interactive, conversational language called L-A-S (Linear AIgebra and Systems). Particular emphasis is placed upon recent developments of this computer-Aided Design (CAD) language. Unlike the conventional menu-driven approach of many CAD packages, L -A -S provides the user with considerable flexibility in the development and maintenance of linear algebra and control algorithms. L-A-S is both a language and an interpreter. Users or L-A-S write programes while interacting with the Interpreter. Programs may he edited, stored, recalled, and executed with the same or a differernt data set. L-A-S data strunures include matrices, polynomials (continuos or discrete). and matrices of polynomials. In this paper. we briefly review the basics or the L-A-S language. Then. we concentrate on those features of L-A-S which have been added within the last year. These include the Multiple Operator Statement (MOS), L-A-S lNT-delined suhroutines. and the most-reccnt “echo” feature for interaction with the interpreter. This contribution refers to certain problems bearing upon the formation of a system generator programing medium of an automatic synthesis for the modular construction of a packaged program for real time technological process control. The package is made up of standard subroutines-functional modules, carrying out the basic control functions. The user defines the task in the problem-oriented "graf language" designed by an analysis of project documentation for automated systems of technological process control. From the viewpoint of software, this is an establishment of a communication and synchronization system, implemented by standard connectors and starting subroutines, operating over the central database and by a system of tables for recording required items of information on the structure of the control package.

The control system adopted for L-SAT is based on a zero-momentum concept relatively insensitive to spacecraft configuration changes. This flexibility is further enhanced by the use of a microprocessor based controller. The overall AOCS configuration adopted is described, the theoretical design aspects outlined and the functions and implementation of the controller discussed. The subsystem electronic configuration concentrates the majority of control sequence algorithm implementation, telemetry, telecommand and power control into the controller. This unit communicates to other subsystem equipments through use of a high reliability serial data bus. A similar data bus is used internally in the controller providing a highly modular design concept which enables a wide range of applications to be met using the flexibility of software.

This paper describes a realtime digital train simulator which was realized to develop real braking devices. The main originalities of this simulator consists in the solutions introduced in order to allow a true simulation of the reality at reasonable price. In particular, in the modelling, we simplified the coupling static characteristics. This made it possible an analytic solution of the motion and coupling equations and therefore a reduction of the computing power requirements. On the other hand, to limit the hardware cost, we adopted a multiprocessor architecture where the simulation processors work in pipeline.
