Background: Amiodarone treatment requires repeated laboratory evaluations of thyroid and liver function due to potential side effects. Robotic process automation uses software robots to automate repetitive and routine tasks, and their use may be extended to clinical settings. Objective: Thus, this study aimed to develop a robot using a diagnostic classificationd* algorithm to automate repetitive laboratory evaluations for amiodarone follow-up. Methods: We designed a robot and clinical decision support system based on expert clinical advice and current best practices in thyroid and liver disease management. The robot provided recommendations on thetime interval to follow-up laboratory testing and management suggestions, while the final decision rested with a physician, acting as a human-in-the-loop. The performance of the robot was compared to the existing real-world manual follow-up routine for amiodarone treatment. Results: Following iterative technical improvements, a robot prototype was validated against physician orders (n=390 paired orders). The robot recommended a mean follow-up time interval of 4.5 (Sd 2.4) months compared to the 3.1 (Sd 1.4) months ordered by physicians (P<.001). For normal laboratory values, the robot recommended a 6-month follow-up in 281 (72.1%) of cases, whereas physicians did so in only 38 (9.7%) of cases, favoring a 3- to 4-month follow-up (n=227, 58.2%). All patients diagnosed with new side effects (n=12) were correctly detected by the robot, whereas only 8 were by the physician. Conclusions:An automated process, using a software robot and a diagnostic classificationd* algorithm, is a technically and medically reliable alternative for amiodaronefollow-up. It may reduce manual labor, decreasethefrequencyoflaboratorytesting, and improve the detection of side effects, thereby reducing costs and enhancing patient value.

design of Sharp 2d Multiplier-Less Circularly Symmetric FIR Filter Using Harmony Searchd* algorithm and Frequency Transformation

In this paper, we present a novel and efficient method for the design of a sharp, two dimensional (2d) wideband, circularly symmetric, FIR filter. First of all, a sharp one dimensional (1d) infinite precision FIR filter is designed using the Frequency Response Masking (FRM) technique. This filter is converted into a multiplier-less filter by representing it in the Canonic Signed digit (CSd) space. The design of the FRM filter in the CSd space calls for the use of a discrete optimization technique. To this end, a new optimization approach is proposed using a modified Harmony Searchd* algorithm (HSA). HSA is modified in such a way that, in every exploitation and exploration phase, the candidate solutions turns out to be integers. The 1d FRM multiplier-less filter, is in turn transformed to the 2d equivalent using the recently proposed multiplier-less transformations namely, T1 and T2. These transformations are successful in generating circular contours even for wideband filters. Since multipliers are the most power consuming elements in a 2d filter, the multiplier-less realization calls for reduced power consumption as well as computation time. Significant reduction in the computational complexity and computation time are the highlights of our proposed design technique. Besides, the proposed discrete optimization using modified HSA can be used to solve optimization problems in other engineering disciplines, where the search space consists of integers.

We study the product of two relaxed cutters having a common fixed point. We assume that one of the relaxation parameters is greater than two so that the corresponding relaxed cutter is no longer quasi-nonexpansive, but rather demicontractive. We show that if both of the operators are (weakly/linearly) regular, then under certain conditions, the resulting product inherits the same type of regularity. We then apply these results to proving convergence in the weak, norm and linear sense ofd* algorithms that employ such products.

Purpose: We developed an open-source, rule-based* algorithm to automate cause of death coding for analyzing mortality in understudied populations, such as people experiencing homelessness, and dynamic public health crises including overdoses and climate-related deaths. Methods: death categories of immediate public health concern were selected and keyword lists representing each category were developed in consultation with a domain expert. A rule-based keyword matchingd* algorithm was built to assign death records into the selected death categories. Thed* algorithm was trained on death certificate data from five counties across the United States. A case study applying thed* algorithm to deaths among people experiencing homelessness in Clark County, NV from 2015 to 2018 (N = 646) tested the accuracy of the program against a manual coder. Results: There was strong agreement between thed* algorithm and the manual coder in the all-cause identification (kappa 0.905) and mutually exclusive sorting (kappa 0.853) methods. Our findings illustrate thed* algorithm's ability to accurately classify death certificates into useful categories. Conclusion: This open-source, customizabled* algorithm may be utilized by researchers, journalists, and others to conduct mortality analyses with publicly available death certificate data, bridging gaps in existing mortality tracking efforts.

deep learning has become increasingly popular in energy demand forecasting, due to its ability to efficiently process large amounts of data with improved accuracy. By utilizing a deep learning approach, energy demand forecasting models can capture and learn the complex patterns and relationships that exist within energy demand data. This enables more accurate predictions of future energy consumption, allowing for better decision-making and efficiency. This research introduces an advanced Ridgelet Neural Network (RNN) optimized through metaheuristic approaches as a powerful tool for predicting energy demand. A refined Beluga Whale Optimization (BBWO)d* algorithm is employed to enhance the RNN's structure, resulting in more accurate predictions. When tested on a standard case study featuring short-, medium-, and long-term energy demand forecasts, the proposed RNN/BBWO model surpasses the performance of previously published methods. The MSE of RNN/BBWO method in short, medium and long term forecasting is 0.18, 0.16 and 0.14 lower than LASSO;0.08, 0.11 and 0.1 lower than Bi-LSTM;0.02, 0.06 and 0.05 lower than dRL. The findings highlight the effectiveness of this technique as a superior solution for forecasting energy consumption across different timeframes.

Impact of illustrated backgrounds on the automatic assessment of fingermark quality

In the fingermark detection field, background illustrations may negatively impact the visibility of the marks in presence. They can indeed locally reduce the contrast or mask ridge details. When conducting a research project, the choice for plain or illustrated substrates is mostly driven by the research objectives as well as the development level of the investigated technique (e.g., new reagent, comparison between two techniques, semi-operational test). Also, it is not clear how the human assessors in charge of grading the quality of the detected fingermarks actually cope with fingermarks standing astride background prints. In recent publications, latent quality metrics (LQM) and improved latent fingerprint quality metrics (ILFQM)d* algorithms have been identified as potential alternatives to traditional human assessment. The authors of the present study were therefore interested in assessing the performance of thesed* algorithms with regards to illustrated backgrounds. To reach that goal, 480 fingermarks were deposited on porous (240) and non-porous (240) items presenting various kinds of illustrations (e.g., colored areas, writings, geometric shapes, lines). Several detection techniques were then applied in sequence: 1,2-indanedione/zinc + ninhydrin + physical developer for porous items, and superglue fuming followed by dye-staining or black magnetic powder for non-porous items. A total of 884 pictures were obtained and their quality assessed by LQM and ILFQM. The results were then analyzed to determine if background prints may influence the metrics provided bothd* algorithms, and if yes, to which extent.

BackgroundColonic adenocarcinoma (COAd) is the most common pathological type of colon cancer. Tumor microenvironment (TME) plays an important role in the occurrence and development of COAd. There are currently no specific studies indicating the mechanism of action of TME in COPd *** percentage of tumor-infiltrating immune cells (TIC) in 512 COAd cases from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database was calculated using CIBERSORT and ESTIMATE. Weighted gene coexpression network analysis (WGCNA) was performed to find modules of differentially expressed genes (dEGs) with high correlations followed by Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway enrichment analyses to determine the function of distant metastasis (M)-stage-related modules. Pathway enrichment analysis, protein-protein interaction (PPI) network, Cox regression analysis, and Kaplan-Meier survival analysis were performed on dEGs to select the most critical genes. The correlation between SIGLEC1 expression in COAd and TME status and between immune checkpoints and SIGLEC1 was examined using gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) and Pearson correlation *** WGCNA screen was performed to obtain 12,342 dEGs and 209 key genes associated with M stage between tumor and normal samples. GO and KEGG analysis revealed that the dEGs primarily engaged in pathways such as Th1 and Th2 cell differentiation and cell adhesion molecules. SIGELEC1 gene was identified by univariate Cox regression, PPI network construction, and survival analysis. GSEA showed that the genes in the high-expression SIGLEC1 group were mainly enriched in immune-related activities. In the low-expression SIGLEC1 group, the genes were enriched in MYC targets. CIBERSORT analysis of the proportion of TICs showed that SIGLEC1 was positively correlated with macrophages (M0, M2), T-cell Cd8 and immune checkpoint-related genes, suggesting that SIGLEC1 may be responsible for maintaining the immune domi

A computational framework for weighted simplicial homology

We provide a bottom up construction of torsion generators for weighted homology of a weighted complex over a discrete valuation ring R = F [[pi]]. This is achieved by starting from a basis for classical homology of the n-th skeleton for the underlying complex with coefficients in the residue field F and then lifting it to a basis for the weighted homology with coefficients in the ring R . Using the latter, a bijection is established between n + 1 and n dimensional simplices whose weight ratios provide the exponents of the pi-monomials that generate each torsion summand in the structure theorem of the weighted homology modules over R . We presentd* algorithms that subsume the torsion computation by reducing it to normalization over the residue field of R , and describe a Python package we implemented that takes advantage of this reduction and performs the computation efficiently. Improving diagnostic Yield in Patients with Pulsatile Tinnitus: A Ten-Year Analysis

ObjectivesTo determine the yield of a comprehensive diagnosticd* algorithm for patients with pulsatile tinnitus (PT) and to review the common etiologies and present clinical pears for their *** chart review of patients with PT from 2013 to 2023. Charts were reviewed for demographic data (age, sex, BMI), side of PT (or bilateral), specialty clinic of initial evaluation, coexistent symptoms in addition to PT, and final diagnosis (or non-diagnosis). Clinical, audiometric, laboratory, and radiographic data were collected. Putative chart diagnoses were reviewed by the authors and deemed likely or unlikely to be the source of the patient's PT. Those with "unlikely" were grouped in the "idiopathic" cohort. The diagnosticd* algorithm is presented in *** hundred and 90 patients were included for analysis. The overall diagnostic yield was 90.7% for all patients and 95.6% for those patients who completed the recommended workup - a substantial improvement over published rates. Twenty-nine etiologies were identified with the most common etiology was idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH). Twenty-one diagnoses comprised no more than 5% of patients. Seventy-three patients (25.2%) had more than one pathology as a potential source for their *** can present a diagnostic challenge to the clinician. The collapse of man-made structures, which frequently bury people beneath rubble, is one of the main causes of death worldwide. Natural disasters and human inefficiency, degradation, and decay are the main causes of this. So, in these urgent situations, a quick and effective deployment is crucial. No-line-of-sight (NLOS) signal analysis, which is the fundamental of seeing through the wall of critical information that is not visible, is disclosed through analysis, and developmental systems can be seen for identifying imprisoned human victims and detecting differences in disaster scenarios. This technology is essential for locating stranded people and evaluating different crises. Ultra-wideband (UWB) signal data, augmented by machine learning techniques, provides a large and quantified output that is useful for applications including engineering, scientific research, and Search and Rescue (SAR) operations. However, this method's primary drawbacks are its large dimensionality, infrequency, and noise, which makes catastrophic scenario prediction difficult. The curse of dimensionality has been addressed in a variety of ways, but issues with accuracy, dependability, and scalability still exist. To choose relevant subset features from the data and for better generalization in various contexts, this work uses an adaptive human presence detectord* algorithm that hybridizes dimensionality reduction techniques geneticd* algorithm (GA), which maximizes feature selection, and independent component analysis (ICA), which lowers the dimensionality of the chosen features. The features are sent into the classifiers for technique analysis based on their class variants. A bagged ensemble machine learning classifier was used to assess the reduced dataset, and among other performance measures, The findings with accuracy are 85.69 %, sensitivity of 79.30, and specificity of 91.67 %.
