An adaptive approach for securing patient data in intellectual disability care with 8D Hyperchaotic dna encryption and IWT

Intellectual disability (ID) is a neurodevelopmental disease characterized by significant intellectual and adaptive functioning impairments. Continuous monitoring and data collection are crucial for managing this condition. To collect patient's skin temperature data, doctors and caretakers often use thermal IR imaging, and they must securely share this information. To address privacy concerns and ensure robust encryption during data transmission, this study introduces an adaptive encryption algorithm that operates in both frequency and spatial domains. The algorithm counteracts various security threats, including plain text attacks, differential attacks, brute force attacks, and cropping attacks. The core of this research is the 8D Hyperchaotic dna Encryption Algorithm, which enhances security by combining block scrambling with dna coding. Security is further optimized through integrating the Integer Wavelet Transform (IWT) in the frequency domain and a dna sequence in the spatial domain. The encryption process aims to balance security and computational efficiency, ensuring reliable performance. Extensive testing and validation against multiple types of attacks show the algorithm's effectiveness and reliability in practical applications. Experimental results show that the proposed system significantly enhances security against various attacks, thus setting a higher standard for encryption in biomedical image and signal processing. This algorithm shows potential for broader applications beyond intellectual disability care, including secure data transmission in medical imaging, financial transactions, and confidential communications, because of its robust encryption capabilities and adaptability to different data types.

Speech signal security scheme based on multiple chaotic maps with deoxyribonucleic acid coding algorithm

article presents a novel speech cryptosystem by using chaotic maps and Deoxyribonucleic Acid coding. Initially, the speech signal is divided into four equal blocks. Then the speech samples in each block are submitted to confusion/diffusion via four different chaotic maps. The gained ciphered speech samples and the obtained chaotic sequence from Sine map are encoded via dna rules. The consequent coded sequences from the previous step are merged via dna/XNOR to get the coded dna signal. Ultimately, the resulted signal is decoded to acquire the definitive ciphered signal. The experiments prove the efficiency and robustness of the suggested method.

Dynamics analysis of fractional-order extended neuron model under electromagnetic field and application to image encryption

In this paper, a novel five-dimensional fractional-order extended Hindmarsh-Rose neuron model under electromagnetic field (FEHREF) is established. Numerical analysis methods such as time series diagrams, phase diagrams and bifurcation portraits demonstrate that the proposed model can exhibit complex dynamic behaviors such as regular spiking, period bursting and chaotic firing, when the intensity of the external current input and the strength of the magnetic field effect are varied, respectively. Moreover, a gray image encryption algorithm based on the proposed FEHREF combined with extended dna coding is presented. The extended dna encoding scheme can add dna coding rules to improve the security of the image encryption algorithm. Finally, the performance of the designed encryption algorithm is analyzed in detail. The experimental results verify that the proposed algorithm can resist multiple attacks with better performance and higher security. This work provides theoretical guidance and experimental foundation for image-secure communication by combining fractional-order neuron system with extended dna coding.

Design of a new four-dimensional chaotic system and its application to color image encryption

In this paper, a new four-dimensional chaotic system is constructed. Then, the dynamics of the phase diagram, Lyapunov exponent, bifurcation, and complexity of the system are investigated, and the simulation circuit of the system is designed and the trajectory simulation of the system is implemented using a field programmable gate array. National Institute of Standards and Technology tests have verified the randomness of the output of the chaotic sequence by the system. Finally, a new color image encryption algorithm is designed based on this system. In the proposed algorithm, the plaintext information is used to generate the initial value of the system through a hashing algorithm, and the plaintext information is applied to the algorithm, reflecting the idea of algorithmic adaption. The bit-plane decomposition row dislocation breaks the strong correlation between pixels, and finally, the dna encoding is combined with the diffusion method to complete the complete encryption process. Multiple security analysis methods show that the scheme has a good encryption effect.

An Image Encryption Scheme Based on Hyper Chaotic System and dna With Fixed Secret Keys

A novel image encryption scheme combining the 5D hyper chaotic system and dna technology is proposed in this paper. The proposed scheme is related to the plaintext and external secret key, which does not need to manage the huge amounts of dynamic secret keys and does not to design synchronization method as the one-time-pad encryption scheme. The proposed scheme consists of four parts: pixel-level diffusion, pixel-level permutation, dna-level diffusion and second permutation. In pixel-level diffusion process, chaotic sequences iterated by 5D hyper chaotic system with initial values (which are set as secret keys) are used to rewrite the pixel values of plaintext image and they are also used to generate second permutation rule. Then the pixel-level permutation rules are obtained by chaotic system with modified initial values that are related to the plaintext image and external secret key. In this case, the permutation rules are different when the plaintext images are different. In the dna-level diffusion process, we select a part of pixel values of the pixel-level permutated image and external secret key to generate key streams used in dna-level diffusion process. In this case, the decryption part can obtain the selected pixel values during the decryption process, which avoids transmitting huge secret keys and synchronizing them with plaintext images. In the second permutation, we rearrange the position of the selected pixel values, which can enhance the security of the proposed scheme. Finally, experimental results and security analysis verify that the proposed scheme can achieve good encryption effect and resist various attacks.

Multiple-image encryption algorithm based on chaos and gene fusion

In the era of big data, a large number of digital images face the risk of content leakage and illegal access. Chaos has good randomness, which is suitable for image encryption. To improve the security and efficiency of multiple-image transmission, this paper proposes a multiple-image encryption algorithm based on chaos and gene fusion. Firstly, the chaotic sequence is used to scramble the pixel positions in the k plain images;secondly, the chaotic image generated by chaotic system is used to control the pixel cyclic shift of multiple images to obtain scrambled images;thirdly, the dna rule controller generated by the chaotic system is used to control the selection of encoding, operation and decoding rules for each image;finally, the diffusion process among multiple images is achieved through the gene fusion to obtain the final encrypted images. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can encrypt four image with 3.7763 s, and the information entropy is 7.9995 on average. The algorithm analyses show that the proposed algorithm has the strong security and encryption efficiency, and can resist some common attacks, such as the statistic attack, differential attack and plaintext attack.

This paper proposes a novel image encryption scheme based on dna sequence operations and chaotic system. Firstly, two-dimensional logistic chaotic map is employed to modify each pixel of the image, and then, the dna encoding rules are adopted to encode and generate a dna matrix. Secondly, pseudo-random sequences generated by two-dimensional logistic map are transformed into another dna matrix. Thirdly, dna addition, subtraction and complementary rules are used to control the operations between two dna matrices for obtaining the ciphered results. Finally, the ciphered image is obtained by decoding the dna matrix formulations into binary formulations. Experimental results and theoretical analysis show that the scheme is extraordinarily high secure to resist various attacks.

Image encryption scheme based on double permutation and dna

This paper mainly contributes a bit-level and pixel-level double-permutation image encryption scheme based on dna coding technology, which can effectively solve the problem that adjacent pixels in an image are difficult to be completely disordered. Firstly, the Hamming distance between image pixel and a value at the same position in a chaotic sequence is calculated and the result is used to be the cyclic shift distance of the pixel to achieve bit-level permutation;secondly, the modified Z curve is used for the first global permutation process, and the image is further permutated by the method of block restructuring to compensate for the shortage of modified Z curve permutation;thirdly, pixel pairs are selected and the pixel pairs are used as information and control positions respectively to dna encode the image by dynamically selecting the dna encoding rules, and then diffusing the encoded image following the rules of dna base manipulation;finally, the diffused image is decoded to complete the image encryption process. We perform simulation experiments on the image encryption algorithm and analyze its security performance, and we could get the conclusion that the encryption algorithm can encrypt images quickly and effectively, the obtained cipher images are highly resistant to noise attacks, cropping attacks, and different attacks, meanwhile, the cipher images have a lower correlation between pixels.

Cryptanalysis of a dna-based image encryption scheme

Recently, an image encryption scheme using 2D Henon-Sine map and dna coding approach is proposed. It adopts the permutation-diffusion architecture. The dna random coding and exclusive OR is introduced for image diffusion, while image scrambling is implemented by pixel swapping operations. This paper reveals that this encryption scheme is not as secure as declared. Substitution boxes (s-boxes) are firstly employed to summarize the involved complicated dna encryption operations, the whole encryption scheme is subsequently relaxed as an s-box-then-permutation cipher. Chosen-plaintext attack is feasible for recovering the equivalent secret elements of the s-boxes and permutation vector. The proposed concept of generalizing dna encryption as s-box substitution is expected to be beneficial for security evaluation and theoretical design of dna-based image encryption schemes in the future. Generation multi-scroll chaotic attractors using composite sine function and its application in image encryption

In this paper, a composite sine function is proposed and applied in a chaotic system, which is capable of generating definite number of chaotic attractors. The proposed composite sine function possesses infinite breakpoints, but it can produce a fixed number of scrolls by adjusting its parameters. Compared to other chaotic systems with multiple scrolls chaotic attractors, the realization circuit of the chaotic system with compound sine function allows obtaining different numbers of scrolls by adjusting only one resistance value. As a result, the circuit structure remains unchanged despite variations in the number of scrolls. Various analytical methods are applied to study the dynamical behaviors of the proposed chaotic system, including Lyapunov exponent, equilibrium point, bifurcation diagram, phase diagram, spectral entropy and C0-algorithm. Furthermore, based on the analysis of dynamical characteristics, the electronic circuits of the proposed system are given on Multisim circuit simulation software, and the multi-scroll chaotic attractors exhibit consistency with the numerical simulation results. Finally, we incorporated the proposed chaotic system into a Deoxyribonucleic acid coding algorithm for image encryption, and this method exhibits excellent encryption efficiency and high level of security.
