In the field of wireless sensor network, positioning accuracy of the sensor in a network is directly related to the method for getting of or computing the data of sensor positions. An algebraic reconstruction technique based dv-hop location algorithms is presented in order to reduce the localization error and much consume in computation of original dv-hop localization algorithm based on the least square method principle. The analysis and simulation shows that the presented algorithm has obviously reduced the average localization error in the wireless sensor network.

Aiming at that bounding box algorithm's coverage is depend on the anchor nodes density in network and dv-hop has a larger location error, this paper presents a hybrid algorithm that combines the bounding box localization algorithm and dv-hop localization algorithm, which is called Bdv-hop algorithm. Simulating in MATLAB platform, we analyze bounding box, dv-hop and the Bdv-hop algorithm respectively. Extensive simulation show that under a variety of network conditions, Bdv-hop algorithm inherits both the advantage of bounding box that has smaller location error and cost, and the advantage of dv-hop that has high location coverage. At the same time Bdv-hop algorithm have a better adaptability.

The localization of the unknown nodes is essential for many applications in wireless sensor networks (WSN). But the traditional dv-hop algorithm has not high accuracy of the localization of the nodes. In this paper, we proposed an improved dv-hop location algorithm based on reduce the accumulation errors of the average hop distance of the unknown nodes in wireless sensor networks. We have made detailed analysis of the dv-hop algorithm, and have introduced the weighted averaged method for calculate to the average hop distance in the second stages. Then the estimates regional based on two beacon nodes is built, and the centroid of the region is the coordinates of the unknown node. Simulation experiments are conducted to compare the traditional dv-hop algorithm and improved dv-hop algorithm. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has better localization accuracy based on the same or different number of the sensor nodes and the communication radius.
