Multicarrier modulation and especially CP-OFDM is widely used nowadays in several radio communications. However, Filter Bank Multicarrier (FBMC) is a potential alternative to CP-OFDM since it does not require cyclic prefix and thus it has a higher spectral efficiency. One of the characteristics of FBMC is that it induces intrinsic interference among the transmitted data. The presence of this interference complicates the application of the MLD (Maximum Likelihood Detection) in the MIMO Spatial data Multiplexing configuration which is known to improve the capacity. In this paper, we are interested in the encoded data case and we propose two receiver schemes. Both schemes are based on interference estimation and cancellation. The first one uses MMSE equalization in order to get an estimation of the intrinsic interference. The second one improves the interference estimation by exploiting the decided symbols around the considered time-frequency position. The performance of both approaches are assessed by simulation, and we show that the second approach exhibits either the same performance or better than OFDM.

The major concern of large volume applications like "Big data" is to perceive data volume and high velocity for further operations. Quantum computers promise polynomial or exponential speed-up in solving certain problems compared to classical computers. However, in practical use, there are currently a number of fundamental technical challenges. One of them concerns the loading of data into quantum computers, since they cannot access common databases. In this vision paper, we develop a hybrid data management architecture in which databases can serve as data sources for quantum algorithms. To test the architecture, we perform experiments in which we assign data points stored in a database to clusters. For cluster assignment, a quantum algorithm processes this data by determining the distances between data points and cluster centroids.

The advances in digital signal processing have been progressing towards efficient use of memory and processing. Both of these factors can be utilized efficiently by using feasible techniques of image storage by computing the minimum information of image which will enhance computation in later processes. Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) can be utilized to estimate and retrieve of an image. In computer vision, SIFT can be implemented to recognize the image by comparing its key features from SIFT saved key point descriptors. The main advantage of SIFT is that it doesn't only remove the redundant information from an image but also reduces the key points by matching their orientation and adding them together in different windows of image [1]. To solve the problem of data security, integrity, confidentiality, and user data inaccessibility cause by the suspension of cloud service provider operations during cloud storage. This paper designs a file multi-cloud storage system based on Android, which uses RS (Reed Solomon) erasure coding to block, encode and encrypt data, and then store them in multiple cloud servers. Using Android to call the DLL (Dynamic Link Library) to realize the application of RS erasure coding / decoding in the system. A DDR-compatible signaling scheme is presented to increase memory bandwidth while accommodating the limitations of the DRAM transistor. Key features of the proposal include the addition of a third signal level between VOH and VOL, and an encoding scheme which maps three binary inputs into a pair of tri-level signals for transmission. The mapping of three bits to two pins increases per-pin bandwidth by 50% without increasing the clock frequency, which relaxes the demand on the DRAM transistor and data capture timing while reducing AC power.

In this paper, we introduce TeraFoils, a method for designing and fabricating material-based structures using binary holograms in the terahertz region. We outline the design, fabrication, imaging, and data processing steps for embedding information inside physical objects and exploring a method to create holographic structures with silver-foiled paper. This paper is a sheet on which silver foil is pasted where the ink is printed, using a home-use laser printer and an electric iron. Wave propagation calculations were performed to design a binary-amplitude hologram. Along with the designed pattern, we fabricated silver-foiled binary holograms in the subterahertz range (0.1 THz) and confirmed their functions using a two-dimensional THz sensor.

Analog pulse-based data telemetry is a novel technology that improves data transmission rate for spectrum efficient secure communication in high-volume wireless sensor applications. However, the analog pulse transmission technology suffers from proper orthogonal pulse generation, data modulation scheme, propagation media, and receiver detection techniques to decode the transmitted bits. This paper introduces a multi-bit data encoding scheme using a set of orthogonal pulses and their time delay factors. The energy-efficient pulse generation technique based on Modified Hermitian Polynomial is used to generate the orthogonal analog pulse set. The proposed analog pulse-based data compression and decompression schemes are validated using MATLAB Simulink packages. The results show that the proposed data modulation scheme increases the data transmission rate 1.5x n more compared to single bit transmission, where 'n' is the distinct pulse order, indicating the number of individual data channels. The proposed scheme shows an alternative solution for spectrum efficient wireless data transmission in high-density sensor networks.
