In this work, we explored the role of a single electron in the energy of neutral and charged clusters of Na39\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$${Na}_{39}$$\end{document} using data visualization and statistical techniques as a new insight. Initially, we studied the effects of one electron, time, and temperature on energy using multiple linear regression analysis with dummy variables, and the results demonstrated that all three predictors significantly affected the energy. Time had a positive impact (direct ratio effect) on the energy of Na-39\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$${{Na}<^>{-}}_{39}$$\end{document}, and Na39,\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$${Na}_{39},$$\end{document} and a negative impact (inverse ratio effect) on the energy of Na+39,\documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$${{Na}<^>{+}}_{39},$$\end{document} while temperature had a positive effect on the energy of all three sodium clusters. Then, to study the thermodynamic properties of each cluster, we employed the fuzzy clustering technique. The results verified that each sodium cluster is divided into three groups based on the different temperatures used to investigate the thermodynamic properties of each cluster. Finally, time series analys

Interest in data science education is growing as data becomes more prevalent in our daily lives and plays a central role in making informed decisions and understanding the world. Due to the interdisciplinary nature and broad scope of the field, further research is essential to unravel how K-12 students can effectively interact with data through productive learning experiences. This is particularly true in data visualization activities, in which students must employ a variety of skills to effectively extract and communicate data insights. In this study, we describe key actions involved in creating data visualizations using a block-based programming environment (Playdata). Based on qualitative video analysis, we identified six core data visualization programming moves: program creation, selection of parameters, output inspection, data inspection, program rearrangement, and visual design. Then, using learning analytics techniques and Epistemic Network Analysis, we developed a method for automatically categorizing and characterizing those moves based on fine-grained log data collected from the environment, which allowed the identification of patterns in students' trajectories. We found that students' work is distributed across several micro-tasks, each involving distinct types of interaction with the environment and holding a unique value in the process of engaging in programming, data analysis, and visual design. As students progress, there is a transition among these moves, suggesting the need for activities that ensure comprehensive exposure to all of them. Our study presents two main contributions: a novel approach to automatically categorize and describe learning trajectories in open-ended programming tasks and insights into how K-12 students engage with those tasks in a data-related context, laying a foundation for better supporting learning and research in this emergent area.

Artificial intelligence (AI) and data visualization are increasingly used in learning and education. In this study, we used Microsoft Teams for online lessons, incorporating problem-solving learning in a university course on data visualization that included tools like Microsoft Power BI Desktop, Tableau Public, and NodeXL. We designed several problem-based learning topics to demonstrate that integrating problem-based learning into teaching is beneficial and provides quality education. We used a quasi-experimental design, arranging experimental and control groups. The research results were verified through a t-test, showing a significant difference between the experimental and control groups' post-test scores.

A growing number of teaching materials invite students to discuss the complex mathematical, contextual and social aspects of data visualizations. Orchestrating such discussions can be difficult, as this requires teachers to balance a variety of learning goals and student perspectives. This paper examines how teachers interact with data visualization discussion tasks-specifically, those that engage visualizations' social complexities-as they consider using them in their own classrooms. Drawing from semi-structured clinical interviews with six U.S.-based teachers as they reviewed discussion tasks called data Story Bytes, we explore: How did these teachers envision using these data visualization discussions in their classrooms? And, What mathematical, contextual, and/or social aspects of visualizations did teachers emphasize when engaging with the discussion task materials? We found that all teachers envisioned using data visualization discussions as lesson openers or routine activities, but they differed in their overall emphasis on the visualizations' mathematical, contextual, or social aspects. Despite these differences, certain types of discussion prompts were associated with particular response patterns across all teachers, suggesting these task structures can help guide teachers to address a shared set of intended baseline goals for all three of these dimensions. Our findings represent a first step in understanding whether and how socially-oriented data discussion materials may be enacted in classrooms, and what additional design features and supports may be needed to help teachers do so productively.

This study investigates the association between corporate social responsibility (CSR) and data visualization in 10-K filings among U.S. publicly listed companies from 2004 to 2016. We find that CSR performance is positively associated with the use of quantitative data visuals, suggesting a strategic deployment to enhance transparency and potentially showcase CSR initiatives. However, this relation does not extend to qualitative infographics, indicating a selective approach in data visualization tied to CSR. This study contributes to understanding how firms leverage data visualization, particularly quantitative infographics, to communicate their CSR efforts and broader corporate values, offering new insights into corporate communication strategies within financial disclosures.

The current growth in population density has increased the demand for potable water and aggravated water scarcity in reservoirs, especially in urban and metropolitan areas. This problem, coupled with other aspects such as climate change and rain irregularity, has proven that current water management techniques, which rely on human operator knowledge, are insufficient and inefficient. Observing the development of data Science and Machine Learning techniques, these intelligent algorithms seem to be an interesting approach that could support water management operations by predicting water usage depending on several factors. A first step involves characterizing user consumption behaviors by applying feature extraction and data visualization techniques to discover similarities and common patterns among users.
