PLATO (PLAnetary Transits and Oscillations of stars) is the third medium-class mission (M3), selected by the European Space Agency (ESA) in 2014 and adopted in 2017 for the Cosmic Vision 2015-2025 scientific program. The launch is scheduled in 2026 from the French Guiana (Kourou) for a nominal in-orbit lifetime of 4 years plus up to 4 years of possible extension. The main purpose of the mission is the discovery and preliminary characterization of many different types of exoplanets down to rocky terrestrial planets orbiting around bright solar-type stars. The PLATO spacecraft will operate from a halo orbit around L2 (the Sun-Earth 2nd Lagrangian Point), a virtual point in space, 1.5 million km beyond Earth as seen from the Sun and its Payload will consist of 26 small telescopes (24 normal and 2 fast), pointing at the same target stars, that provide images every 25 seconds with the normal camera and every 2.5 seconds for the two fast cameras, operating in a close loop with the AOCS (S/C Attitude and Orbit Control system). Each camera (consisting of a telescope, the Focal Plane Assembly and its Front-End Electronics) will host four CCDs producing 20.3 megapixels images adding up to 81.4 megapixels per normal camera and 2.11 gigapixels for the overall Payload (P/L). This huge amount of data cannot be transmitted to the ground and need to be processed on-board by the P/L data processing system (DPS) made up of various processing electronic units. The DPS of the PLATO instrument comprises the Normal and Fast DPUs (data processing Units) and a single ICU (Instrument Control Unit), in charge of HW and SW lossless data compression and managing the P/L through a SpaceWire (SpW) network. This document addresses the various problems of oil control of transport vehicles. The results of observations are presented. The reasons for a significant change in the state of the PBX fleet under the influence of external and internal factors were identified. A block diagram of an automated diagnostic data processing system for oil operating parameters is proposed. Recommendations on maintenance and repair of machines received by the relevant departments of the technical service have been developed. The EPR concept model is developed on the basis of own research.

Detection of interferences in an additive manufacturing process: an experimental study integrating methods of feature selection and machine learning

Additive manufacturing becomes a more and more important technology for production, mainly driven by the ability to realise extremely complex structures using multiple materials but without assembly or excessive waste. Nevertheless, like any high-precision technology additive manufacturing responds to interferences during the manufacturing process. These interferences - like vibrations - might lead to deviations in product quality, becoming manifest for instance in a reduced lifetime of a product or application issues. This study targets the issue of detecting such interferences during a manufacturing process in an exemplary experimental setup. Collection of data using current sensor technology directly on a 3D-printer enables a quantitative detection of interferences. The evaluation provides insights into the effectiveness of the realised application-oriented setup, the effort required for equipping a manufacturing system with sensors, and the effort for acquisition and processing the data. These insights are of practical utility for organisations dealing with additive manufacturing: the chosen approach for detecting interferences shows promising results, reaching interference detection rates of up to 100% depending on the applied data processing configuration.

With the increasing demand for real-time system monitoring and tracking in various contexts, the amount of time-stamped event data grows at an astonishing rate. Analytics on time-stamped events must be real time and the aggregated results need to be accurate even when data arrives out of order. Unfortunately, frequent occurrences of out-of-order data will significantly slow down the processing, and cause a large delay in the query response. Timon is a timestamped event database that aims to support aggregations and handle late arrivals both correctly (i.e., upholding the exactly-once semantics) and efficiently. Our insight is that a broad range of applications can be implemented with data structures and corresponding operators that satisfy associative and commutative properties. Records arriving after the low watermark are appended to Timon directly, allowing aggregations to be performed lazily. To improve query efficiency, Timon maintains a TS-LSM-Tree, which keeps the most recent data in memory and contains a time-partitioning tree on disk for high-volume data accumulated over long time span. Besides, Timon supports materialized aggregation views and correlation analysis across multiple streams. Timon has been successfully deployed at Alibaba Cloud and is a critical building block for Alibaba cloud's continuous monitoring and anomaly analysis infrastructure.

The paper considers developed and offered an effective algorithm for solving the block-symmetrical tasks of polynomial computational complexity of data processing modular block-schemes designing. Currently, there are a large number of technologies and tools that allow you to create information systems of any class and purpose. To solve the problems of designing effective information systems, various models and methods are used, in particular, mathematical discrete programming methods. At the same time, it is known that such tasks have exponential computational complexity and can not always be used to solve practical problems. In this regard, there is a need to develop models and methods of the new class, which provide the solution of applied problems of discrete programming, aimed at solving problems of large dimensions. The work has developed and proposed block-symmetric models and methods as a new class of discrete programming problems that allow us to set and solve applied problems from various spheres of human activity. The issues of using the developed models are considered. and methods for computer-aided design of information systems (IS).

In-memory caching of intermediate data and active combining of data in shuffle buffers have been shown to be very effective in minimizing the recomputation and I/O cost in big data processing systems such as Spark and Flink. However, it has also been widely reported that these techniques would create a large amount of long-living data objects in the heap. These generated objects may quickly saturate the garbage collector, especially when handling a large dataset, and hence, limit the scalability of the system. To eliminate this problem, we propose a lifetime-based memory management framework, which, by automatically analyzing the user-defined functions and data types, obtains the expected lifetime of the data objects and then allocates and releases memory space accordingly to minimize the garbage collection overhead. In particular, we present Deca, 1 a concrete implementation of our proposal on top of Spark, which transparently decomposes and groups objects with similar lifetimes into byte arrays and releases their space altogether when their lifetimes come to an end. When systems are processing very large data, Deca also provides field-oriented memory pages to ensure high compression efficiency. Extensive experimental studies using both synthetic and real datasets show that, in comparing to Spark, Deca is able to (1) reduce the garbage collection time by up to 99.9%, (2) reduce the memory consumption by up to 46.6% and the storage space by 23.4%, (3) achieve 1.2x to 22.7x speedup in terms of execution time in cases without data spilling and 16x to 41.6x speedup in cases with data spilling, and (4) provide similar performance compared to domain-specific systems.

Shock tube-based calibration installation for dynamic pressure transducers and performance testing

A shock tube-based calibration installation for dynamic pressure transducers was designed and manufactured. The hardware of the calibration installation contained a shock tube, two pressure transmitters, three transducers for velocity measurement, a temperature transmitter, two data sampling cards and a industrial personal computer, etc. The software of the calibration installation was a data sampling and data processing system. The functions of the software included test conditions monitoring, performance parameters computation, and calibration reports generation, etc. The performance of the calibration installation was tested. The test result showed that the range of the step pressure was 9.60kPa-1.101MPa, the maximum rise time of the step pressure was no more than 1 mu s, the minimum duration of the step pressure plateau was longer than 4ms, the fluctuation of the step pressure plateau was better than +/- 2%, and the maximum 2nd order expand uncertainty of the step pressure was less than 4%. Thus the calibration installation was qualified to be a shock tube-based dynamic pressure standard because that the performance of the calibration installation was verified to meet the requirements of 'Verification Regulation of Dynamic Pressure transducers' and 'Verification Regulation of Dynamic Pressure standards'.

We propose development of a data processing system to produce, store, and distribute integrated gridded bathymetry maps of high resolution (up to 100 m intervals) by combining the current 30-arc second (500 m similar to 1.5 km) resolution General Bathymetric Chart of the Oceans (GEBCO) map with existent and/or unpublished archives of fragmental multibeam sonar data from various research vessels and/or operational institutes. Two areas were chosen for our preparatory study: onshore areas around Fukushima, Japan, and offshore regions in the Bering Continent al Shelf. Facilitation for safe transportation and routing being the common target areas, the former is also targeted to the applications on legal and policy dimensions while the latter is expected for applications to scientific research. We will explore the possibility to conduct future surveys to employ autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) with novel scanning sensors for target areas.

The paper presents the structure and peculiarities of the developed database used for Kharkiv incoherent scatter radar data storing. The heterogeneity of the raw data, the existence of specific periods of data acquisition, the use of the IS radar data processing program to estimate size and quality of the data, the use of the external server to store the results of data processing, and the ability to fill database with data acquired by different radiophysical instruments are described.
