Statistical algorithms for measurement data processing were developed to perform automation of superconducting quantum bits experimental investigations. The first algorithm is aimed to detect the q-bit quantum state changes. The second one is aimed to obtain the efficient resonance frequency estimation for the resonator coupled to a q-bit. All the results were obtained using the statistical approach that employs random nature of measurement data to obtain the optimal estimation rules and statistical hypotheses testing. The numerical modeling was carried out. The results of numerical modeling confirmed the efficiency and expediency of the algorithms obtained.

Statistical model of measuring signals in systems of time domain reflectometry was proposed. On the basis of this reflectometry the estimates of reflected signal parameters were obtained by means of complete sufficient statistics. Simulation modeling, which confirmed the consistency and efficiency of the estimates, was conducted. Based on the principle of unbiasedness the synthesis of uniformly most powerful unbiased detection algorithm of change in slope parameter of linearly-varying measuring signal was carried out. Simulation modeling has indicated the efficiency of the algorithm and expediency of its application to detect small changes in the measuring signal parameters of time domain reflectometry systems.

In automotive frequency modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar based on multiple ramps with different slope, an effective pairing algorithm is required to simultaneously detect the target range and velocity. That is, as finding beat-frequencies intersecting at a single point of the range-Doppler map, we extract the range and velocity of a target. Unlike the ideal case, however, in a real radar system, even though multiple beat frequencies are originated from the same target, these beat frequencies have many different intersection values, resulting in mismatch pairing during the pairing step. Moreover, this problem also reduces the detection accuracy and the radar detection performance. In this study, we found that mismatch pairing is caused by the round-off errors of the range-beat frequency and Doppler frequency, as well as their various combinations in the discrete frequency domain. We also investigated the effect of mismatch pairing on detection performance, and proposed a new approach to minimize this problem. First, we propose integer and half-integer frequency position-based pairing method during extraction of the range and Doppler frequencies in each ramp to increase detection accuracy. Second, we propose a window-based pairing method to identify the same target from range-Doppler frequencies extracted in the first step. We also find the appropriate window size to overcome pairing mismatch. Finally, we propose the method to obtain a higher accuracy of range and velocity by weighting the values determined in one window. To verify the detection performance of the proposed method by comparison with the typical method, simulations were conducted. Then, in a real field test using the developed radar prototype, the detection probability of the proposed algorithm showed more than 60% improvement in comparison with the conventional method.

This paper proposes a diagnosis technique algorithm for a brushless dc motors under a stator inter-turn fault (ITF) condition using input impedance. The algorithm has early detection and various speed-range detection advantages. To early and accurately detect the ITF, the rotating speed, input current, voltage, resistance, and inductance must be analyzed. Therefore, we choose the input impedance as the detection factor because it includes all these factors. In this paper, the fault-detection system works without requiring a fast Fourier transform and the calculation of the negative-sequence impedance from the comparison of the measured impedance with the database impedance. The proposed technique was verified by the simulation and experiment.

Indoor positioning and life detection using radio frequency has been widely researched;however, to achieve both indoor positioning and life detection has been a very challenging task until now. By careful design of the waveform and a novel detection algorithm, asynchronous multiple frequency shift keying (A-MFSK) is proposed to solve this task for the first time, which can operate between an MFSK mode and a single tone continuous wave mode, providing a possibility of A-MFSK for this task. The elderly are more likely to suffer the aches or pains from the accidental falls, and both the physiology and psychology of patients would subject to a long-term disturbance, especially when the emergency treatment was not given timely and properly. Although many methods and devices have been developed creatively and shown their efficiency in experiments, few of them are suitable for commercial applications routinely. Here, we design a wearable falling detector as a mobile terminal, and utilize the wireless technology to transfer and monitor the activity data of the host in a relatively small community. With the help of the accelerometer sensor and the Google Mapping service, information of the location and the activity data will be send to the remote server for the downstream processing. The experimental result has shown that SA (Sum-vector of all axes) value of 2.5 g is the threshold value to distinguish the falling from other activities. A three-stage detection algorithm was adopted to increase the accuracy of the real alarm, and the accuracy rate of our system was more than 95%. With the further improvement, the falling detecting device which is low-cost, accurate and user-friendly would become more and more common in everyday life.

An algorithm for detecting quasiperiodic textures is proposed, which is based on specific features of two-dimensional spectra obtained by using the discrete Fourier transform. The power spectra of the fragments are analyzed independently of each other, which provides the computational effectiveness of the detection algorithm. Examples demonstrating the use of the detection algorithm in the problem of image segmentation into two texture classes (periodic and nonperiodic) are presented. It is shown that the algorithm stably operates with significant deformations in the lattice of periodic textures.
