Geothermal energy from hot dry rock (HDR), considered an almost inexhaustible source of "green" energy, was first developed and tested in the 1970s. leading to installations in America, japan, Britain, France and other countries. In the present work, a liquating rock mass at a depth of 5-15 km in the Tibet Yangbajing region in China was subjected to detailed analysis. The temperature distribution of the geothermal field in the region was determined by the finite element method. The results estimate that the HDR geothermal resource of the Yangbajing region is 5.4 x 10(9) MWa, representing a huge potential source of HDR geothermal energy for China. Based on detailed research into the continental dynamics of the environment forming the HDR geothermal field of Tibet, along with the tectonic characteristics of the southern slope of Tanggula Mountain and the Dangxiong-Yangbajing Basin, and the magnitude and orientation of the in situ stresses in the region, the design of an arrangement for extracting these HDR geothermal resources is proposed: taking the fault zone nearest the high-temperature liquating rock region as the location of an artificial reservoir, a vertical injection well could be drilled at a low point on the downdip side of the fault, and two dipping production wells drilled higher up. In this way, an artificial reservoir 3 x 10(11) m(3) in volume would be created: 360 times the volume of the HDR geothermal reservoir in Cornwall, UK, which uses hydrofracturing. An investigation of the reservoir features, including seepage analysis of the heat exchange area, project implementation and investment analysis, indicates that a 10(4) MW capacity power station with a projected operating life of approximately 100 years could be constructed. An analysis of a geothermal extraction system comprising one injection well and two production wells suggest that a power station of 1000 MW installed capacity could be constructed initially to provide electricity production of 8.

Teacher education programs require effective development for mentors of preservice teachers to increase the likelihood student teaching is reliable and that it produces preferred outcomes. There are few studies, however, that describe development programs for mentors. This study identified characteristics of an effective program for mentors of preservice teachers using an exploratory mixed method design. Findings suggest subject areas for development focus on communication, such as training that promotes reciprocity between mentor and mentee, and relationships, such as emphasising mentor and mentee roles and responsibilities. Findings from this study also provide detail about mentor preferences for the format, timing, frequency, and duration of development activities, such as the use of blended learning systems. Suggestions for future research include replication studies and investigations that test the effects of recommended subject areas.

The pipeline industry continues to look for ways to improve its compliance and performance. Management systems have increased prevalence in the pipeline industry, with recognition that carefully designed and well-implemented management systems are the fundamental method that should be used to keep people safe, protect the environment and align organizational activities. Experience has shown significantly better success rates with management system implementation, both in terms of the quality and speed, when the person responsible for the design, implementation and sustainment of the management system has an integrated set of technical and enabling competencies. However, there is currently no standardized competency model that can be used to support a Management Systems Professional's specialized knowledge and skills. The paper outlines the competencies needed by individuals to be effective in the design, implementation, measurement and evaluation of management systems. Applying a 'whole-person' perspective, the model includes business, relational and technical competencies that contribute to performance excellence for management system practitioners, including outlining example behaviours at target level performance and proficiency, and supported by a defined body of knowledge. This paper describes the Management System Competency Model, including how it can be used to create a position specific development program for application within various organizations. This research establishes a basis for the creation of a practical, systematic and easy to use development road map for individuals and organizations who use or leverage a management system.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors influencing the success of the onion plant development program in Kampar regency. The research method used was the applied survey method using interview technique and observation or direct supervision on the location of the object. The briefing of the interviews as well as the accuracy of collecting the required data was guided by the structured questionnaires. Determination technique of location / region sampling was done purposively based on the potency and capacity of commodity development. While the respondents were taken by cluster purvosive sampling method in order to classify the samples in accordance with the purpose of the study, determined by as many as 100 people taken from members of the farmer group. Analytical technique used is by using Logic Regression Analysis to determine the factors that influence the success of the program seen from the characteristics of farmers. From the results of this study it can be concluded that the factors influencing the success of onion development program in Kampar regency were a age (X1), education (X2), income (X3), ethnicity (X4), jobs (X5) And family responsibility (X6) could be made as follows: Log Y (P/1-p)= -1.778 + X1(0.021) + X2(0.028) - X3(0.213) + X4(1.986) + X5(2.930) - X6(0.455) From the above equation, it can be explained that the attributes that are positively related are X1 (age), X2 (education), X4 (ethnicity) and X5 (jobs) while the negative correlates are X3 (income) and X6 (family responsibility). From the logical regression result it can be seen that the significant value <0,05, then the independent variable influenced the dependent variable, so that when viewed from the table in the equation it was found that factors affecting the success rate of red onion development program in Kampar regency were X2 (education), X4 (ethnicity), X5 (jobs), and X6 (family responsibility).

Recently, FTTH (fiber to the home) is spreading rapidly, and communication technology has become an indispensable part in our lives. FTTH installers who build the infi'astructure must correspond to the progress of technology while ensuring a high quality of installation, and it is struggling to its counterpart. The present study is undertaken in order to propose effective vocational ability development program for FTTH installers from the approach of their skill. They are information network cabling-related qualification system and competitions as the ability evaluation system. Then the author concludes that this program makes a contribution to improving their skill and maintaining the quality of the optical fiber network in analyzing some example of actual installation work and the measurement result of the OTDR(optical time domain reflect) meter.

Organizations continually try to increase the level of leadership capability and increase the number of qualified applicants for leadership positions by supporting leadership development training program. This qualitative case study discovers whether participating in a leadership development program resulted in leader's performance that can fill leadership gaps. The theoretical framework of this study is depend on expectancy theory, suggests that leaders who involved in leadership development expect to become leaders in future. This exploratory case study sought to learn whether, upon completion of a comprehensive leadership development program, participants applied for, and assumed, leadership positions. A purposeful sample of 32 participants was drawn from in structured interviews conducted by the researcher from Aramco Company. The results provided evidence that using leadership development programs to fill a leadership gap is productive, and that the effectiveness of this strategy is enhanced when organizations purposefully select and support participants through all stages of their leadership development. Participants who pursued leadership opportunities indicated the importance of institutional involvement in leadership development.
This is a study of four leadership development programs for minorities to determine whether such programs are more effective when operated by a minority-group-controlled agency or a majority-group-controlled agency, w...

A tracing model to dynamically capture three types of transactions viz. atomic, nested and product in CASE tools based on decisional meta-model is proposed. Tracing model is based on notion of transaction which is a traceable unit for process tracing and reuse. The starting point is development language based on decisional meta-model. The development language is used to write development programs, which in turn represent the development process followed by application engineer. Algorithms for CASE tools based on decisional meta-model are proposed to dynamically capture these processes and store them as capitalisation decisions in repository for later use by the Transaction Engineering Environment in the CASE tools.

Summary. To enhance our career development program, our Denver E and P Div. undertook a project that defined both the tasks and the personal characteristics needed to be a fully productive engineer. This paper describes the project’s definitional process and the resultant implementation steps. Scope In the early 1980’s, our Denver E and P Div. undertook a project to design a 5- to 7-year integrated development project to design a 5- to 7-year integrated development program to help new graduates become fully productive program to help new graduates become fully productive engineers. This paper outlines the reasons for undertaking the project; describes the methodology, recommendations, and project; describes the methodology, recommendations, and results; and discusses some implications for the development of engineers. The project was undertaken to consider the questions management was asking in the early 1980’s. 1. How do we ensure that we have sufficient experienced engineers to run the business? 2. Is it possible to develop a fully contributing engineer in 5 to 7 years? 3. How do we let recently graduated engineers know that they are not fully qualified after 2 or 3 years of experience? 4. Is it possible to define engineering "experience" and "maturity"? Although today’s business conditions are radically different from those of the early 1980’s, these questions remain relevant. The concerns then centered on high levels of turnover, the bimodal age distribution, and the number of senior engineers expected to retire within 5 to 7 years. Today, many senior engineers have retired, and a relatively young (by historical standards) engineering work force must cope with ever-changing business conditions in times when capital is scarce and inflation will not hide mistakes. So the challenge became one of testing whether it is possible to integrate the process of developing engineers possible to integrate the process of developing engineers in such a way that productivity is
