This paper provides a review of adaptive PI control application of a heat exchanger as implemented via distributed control system (DCS). The control scheme is developed by a typical industrial design approach in order to reject disturbance over the whole operating range. The results show that tighter control with less operator attention is achieved.

This paper introduces the thermal power plant boiler drum water level control, using cascade three-impulse control strategy, based on the distributed control system to realize the control of the drum water level. This paper analyzes the main variables affect the drum water level, the dynamic characteristics of the drum water level, the principle of the cascade three-impulse control strategy, brief introduction to the main function of the main and auxiliary loops, The basic idea and implementation methods of distributed control system and draw a simple logic diagram.

The paper presents the considerations on the method which enables to accelerate the exchange of data in distributed control system, using multi-protocol nodes. The method presented in this paper is related to hardware and software, and based on new original communication protocol, which is used by the node for supporting various communication protocols to simultaneous data exchange via different buses. This method will enable to increase not only network bandwidth, but also the security of data transmission.

Cybernetic Education Centre (CEDUC) integrates (1) the e-learning system Moodle, which primary provides the linear delivery of knowledge content managed by teacher as well as collaborative e-learning modules, (2) distributed real, virtual, simulation models as a support for e-learning to give student interactive feedback within the learning process and (3) the Assessment module realized in the in the Learning Management system (LMS) Moodle. The e-learning in Department of Cybernetics and Artificial Intelligence is not full online learning system, but all subjects are implemented as blended learning combining classical face-to-face learning with e-learning. This paper deals with remote access to controlled models in the laboratories of our department, (a) real laboratory models, (b) simulation models and (c) virtual models, whose implement many technologies from world leaders in area of automation and can not be implemented natively as Moodle modules. Remote student access to control process of these models is conditional, depending on their assessment results. The paper presents methodology of design of blended learning using remote control of models, in are of Cybernetic and Automation, implemented in CEDUC.

Nowadays, distributed control systems (DCS) are playing increasingly important roles in industrial process. Accordingly, the performance evaluation of DCS is attracting more and more attention. This paper focuses on the DCS real-time testing project in term of application. The test technique for the real-time performance of analog and digital signals, and the test technique for processing period of controllers and that for function test of SOE are individually proposed. Moreover, the test result of DCS in term of real-time performance will be presented. The proposed real-time test technique is especially useful for the site performance evaluation of DCS in industrial field.

In recent years, there has been a growth in the amount of data used to improve the production processes. As a result, the cross communication and interaction between components has increased and became a key property of modern production system. To reduce the cost of communication and to increase the efficiency of these systems, middleware technology such as CORBA, COM+, Java RMI, and Web services are being used. Middleware is becoming more and more the essential factor in improving current Manufacturing Process Automation and control systems, and their applications have witnessed an increased demand in real time Manufacturing distributed Applications. In this paper, we propose publish-subscribe middleware architecture based on the Data Distribution system(DDS) open standard. The proposed architecture aims to seamlessly integrate the existing heterogeneous manufacturing systems, such as SCADA system, DCS, PLCs, and databases;and improve the communication and real time data delivery among system components;also, it provides a Qo S support layer between the communicating components. Furthermore, the proposed architecture is implemented and evaluated by intensive experiments.

Output-feedback adaptive fuzzy control for a class of non-linear time-varying delay systems with unknown control directions

In this study, an adaptive fuzzy control scheme is proposed for a class of non-linear systems with unknown discrete and distributed time-varying delays via dynamic output-feedback approach. Unlike the system with only one unknown control coefficient, the so-called high-frequency gain, the system we will consider is more general. During the controller design procedure, novel Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals are introduced to compensate for the unknown time-varying delay terms and all unknown functions are lumped into a suitable unknown function which can be approximated by only one fuzzy logic system (FLS). The main advantages of this study are that (i) the output-feedback adaptive fuzzy controller can dispose a class of non-linear systems with unknown time-varying delays, in which the virtual control coefficients are all unknown, (ii) it does not need to know the time delays and their upper bounds and (iii) only one parameter needs to be adjusted online in controller design procedure, which reduces the online computation burden greatly. It is proven that all the signals of the closed-loop system are semi-globally uniformly ultimately bounded, whereas the tracking error converges to a small neighbourhood of the origin. Finally, simulation results are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Aimed at Neural Network can approach any nonlinear system with arbitrary accuracy, the frame of distributed NN decoupling system are proposed to decouple the MIMO nonlinear system. In this paper, we designed and finished the distributed control system based on ABB's Freelance 800F, and collected experimental data to model the thermostatic heater, then we have carried out the mathematical model by means of MATLAB dynamic simulation. In sequence, we trained the neural network controller in MATLAB. When the decoupling is completed, we used controller to control the MIMO nonlinear system in DCS. Experiment result shows that it is conscientiously feasible and deserves to be widely applied in the process of controlling industry.
