Ethernet today is the most widely used information carrier and the service provider for many important applications in the routine life such as e-mail, voice-image data and web based information. It is also emerging strongly into the area of industrial communication covering even sensors and actuators at the factory floor level. However, obtaining network connectivity for existing machinery is still an open question on which many research interests are being focused. This paper presents the hardware development of a general purpose Ethernet Ready Sensor Actuator (ERSA) module and its usage in closing the speed control loop of a Brushless DC motor over a standard Switched Ethernet network. The module is subsequently used to compare connection oriented TCP with connectionless UDP for the same distributedcontrol Application under constant network traffic but at different sampling rates.

A combined architecture is described to protect the system against malicious attacks as well as unplanned system failures. Discussions are laid on its characteristics, structure, safety assurance technologies. Safety kernel (shell) and integrity policy for criticality are used to ensure the system safety. Furthermore, to implement rules of integrity policy, the reflective technology based on metaobject is adopted and how to apply reflective technology to implement these rules is analyzed in details. Finally, an experiment illuminates the feasibility of the proposed architecture.

The subject matter of that paper is the deadlock protection method. The proposed method enables to the sequential ordering of the processes realisation to prevent the system from the occurrence of the cycle of mutual expectations being one of the conditions necessary for the deadlock occurrence. The deadlock may take place only in the systems with the closed structure at the resources belonging to the basic cycle. The basic cycles are found using the procedures adopted from Graph Theory. It is possible because a graph is a model that enables description of a production system structure. The graph elementary contour is adequate to the basic cycle occurring in the production system structure. Thus, the identification of the basic cycle occurring in the production system structure requires identification of the elementary contour in the graph. In modern process industry, the control theory met several new problems such as distribution, robustness and flexibility, island automation, higher performance requirements and the like, which are very difficult for traditional control method. To solve those problems, this paper gives a brief review of the process control and multi-agent theory in process control, and proposes a new design method of intelligent controlsystem based on multi-agent theory. The presented controlsystem includes four kinds of unit agent with the respective terms actuate agent, coordinate agent, manage agent and user agent corresponding to the process industrial enterprise organization. It is open, distributed and flexible, and can be implemented with the developing internet/intranet technology. This is a new approach for solving the problem of island automation. Finally, several key problems and the research fields that will be met in the following investigation are given.

Up to now, there is the complete blank in the field of evaluation of full grain catalyzer in minitype evaluation in China. According to the condition of the evaluation system, it gives a control algorithm based on cascade control, and outside gives fuzzy control algorithm, inside gives PID control algorithm. Then the control precision can be improved and it is easy to realize in DCS system. This algorithm does not depend on the precision math model of undercontrolled object. It not only improves the control precision of system but also overcomes the effect to the stability of controlsystem brought by time-delay. Then this algorithm solves the difficulty in the normal control algorithm such as the need of precise math model, difficulty to stable.

A power plant simulator with the basic hardware and software of distributed control system (DCS) is proposed in this paper. By this simulator, the operators and the control engineers of power plant can be trained, and the analyzing work for practical power plant controlsystem can be completed. In this simulator, the simulation software and the DCS software are combined by the network communications, the module model method and the alterable step arithmetic are used to ensure the real time characteristic in training mode, and improve the precision in analyzing mode. Uninhabited air vehicles with high-aspect-ratio wings can experience substantial aeroelastic modes, which can adversely affect performance. An active, distributed control system is being developed to alleviate these vibrations, using a series of small span trailing-edge actuators to alter the aerodynamic loads at specific spanwise locations. Particle image velocimetry was used to determine the spanwise effects of these devices because it is necessary to understand whether their application will have nonlocal effects. The wake structure indicates that the primary influence is confined to within two actuator spans of the applied device, demonstrating that the response is quite localized.
