A lattice-valued decision information system has condition attributes consisting real-valued, set-valued, interval-valued, fuzzy-valued, intuitionistic fuzzy-valued attribute and so on. Meanwhile, the information granule structure of information system may vary over time when new information arrives and redundant data leaves. How to quickly update the approximations of a concept in variable granular structure system which caused by adding or deleting attributes? In this paper, we propose two dynamic obtaining rough approximations approach for inserting and removing attributes, respectively. The novel updating mechanism enables additional knowledge to be obtained from the alterant datasets without neglecting the prior knowledge. Furthermore, a case study is conducted to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the dynamic computing approaches.

The ability of some configurable logic devices to modify their hardware during operation has long held great potential to increase performance and reduce device cost. However, despite many research projects and a decade of research, the dynamic reconfiguration of Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) is still very much an art practiced by few. Previous attempts to automate the many low-level details that complicate Run-Time Reconfigurable (RTR) application development suffer severe limitations. This dissertation describes a comprehensive approach to dynamic hardware development, providing a designer with appropriate models for computation, communication, and reconfiguration integrated with a high-level design environment. In this way, many manual and time consuming tasks associated with partial reconfiguration are hidden, permitting a designer to focus instead on a design's behavior. This design and implementation environment has been validated on a variety of relevant applications, quantifying the effects of high-level design.

It targets applications that automatically adapt to highly dynamic computing environments, and it includes services that make it easier for developers to manage constant change. We illustrate the metrics for designing and evaluating pervasive computing systems. The performance measurements are done using Sun's Java Hotspot virtual machine.

Vibrational resonance and implementation of dynamic logic gate in a piecewise-linear Murali-Lakshmanan-Chua circuit

We report the occurrence of vibrational resonance in piecewise-linear non-autonomous system. Especially, we show that an optimal amplitude of the high frequency second harmonic driving enhances the response of a piece-wise linear non-autonomous Murali-Lakshmanan-Chua (MLC) system to a low frequency first harmonic signal. This phenomenon is illustrated with the analytical solutions of circuit equations characterising the system and finally compared with the numerical method. Further, it has been enunciated explicitly, the implementation of the fundamental NOR/NAND gate via vibrational resonance, both by numerical and analytical solutions. In addition, these logical behaviours (AND/NAND/OR/NOR) can be decided by the amplitude of the input square waves without altering the system parameters. (C) 2016 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

The ability of the retina to adapt to changes in mean light intensity and contrast is well known. Classically, however, adaptation is thought to affect gain but not to change the visual modality encoded by a given type of retinal neuron. Recent findings reveal unexpected dynamic properties in mouse retinal neurons that challenge this view. Specifically, certain cell types change the visual modality they encode with variations in ambient illumination or following repetitive visual stimulation. These discoveries demonstrate that computations performed by retinal circuits with defined architecture can change with visual input. Moreover, they pose a major challenge for central circuits that must decode properties of the dynamic visual signal from retinal outputs.

Creating digital representations of ancient manuscripts, prints and maps is a challenging task due to the sources' fragile and heterogeneous natures. Digitization requires a very specialized set of scanning hardware in order to cover the sources' diversity. The central task is obtaining the maximum reproduction quality while minimizing the error rate, which is difficult to achieve due to the large amounts of image data resulting from digitization, putting huge computational loads on image processing modules, error-detection and information retrieval heuristics. As digital copies initially do not contain any information about their sources' semantics, additional efforts have to be made to extract semantic metadata. This is an error-prone, time-consuming manual process, which calls for automated mechanisms to support the user. This paper introduces a decentralized, event-driven workflow system designed to overcome the above mentioned challenges. It leverages dynamic routing between workflow components, thus being able to quickly adapt to the sources' unique requirements. It provides a scalable approach to soften out high computational loads on single units by using distributed computing and provides modules for automated image pre- / post-processing, error-detection heuristics, data mining, semantic analysis, metadata augmentation, quality assurance and an export functionality to established publishing platforms or long-term storage facilites.

Component-based software development is associated with a shift from statement-oriented coding to system building by plugging together components. The idea is nor new and some progress has been made over the past decades. Nevertheless, today's software development practice is still far away from the vision. in recent years, the term componentware became the vogue in the software engineering community. The paper attempts to define the relevant terms by relating the definitions to the already well-defined terms of object technology. In particular, the focus lies on a discussion of the deficiencies of the object-oriented paradigm and how componentware might solve these short comings.

Implementation of dynamic Dual Input Multiple Output Logic Gates via Enhanced Logical Resonance in Non-Locally Coupled Duffing Oscillators

Employing second sub-harmonic or super-harmonic resonant force, in the presence of weak driven force, to the first site of N non-locally coupled double well Duffing oscillators, can induce the resonance phenomenon in the first site of coupled systems. In this paper, we report that under appropriate coupling strength and coupling radius, the second sub-harmonic or super-harmonic force coherently drives and enhances the amplitude of the weak driven force throughout the remaining sites of non-locally coupled network which are free from resonant and driven forces and it is termed as 'Enhanced Resonance' (ER). Also we illustrate that under this enhanced resonance condition, if any digital signal having amplitude greater than or equal to the certain threshold value, is given to the first site of the coupled systems, the signal will propagate throughout the entire coupled network without any attenuation. On the other hand, if we give two digital signals with asymmetric amplitudes instead of single digital signal, both the digital signals are logically added and enhanced at the output of each of the N coupled systems. This phenomenon is termed as 'Enhanced Logical Resonance' (ELR) which mimics dual input multiple output (DIMO) logic gates. Later, we demonstrate that the output of DIMO logic gate is independent of the way of giving the two inputs either simultaneously to any one of the site or separately to any two of the sites of the N coupled systems and thus paved the way to design dynamic dual input multiple output (DDIMO) logic gates such as AND/NAND, OR/NOR gates via enhanced resonance behaviour. It has also been found that the asymmetric amplitude of the two logical inputs decide the various logical behaviours rather than altering the system parameters.
