The cellular manufacturing layout as the production management effects to increase the performance of the systems. The research area is to study the machines and parts clusters to allocate to layout locations under uncertainty. The layouts need to design to capture the realistic probability of demands. This paper, we addresses the discrete random probability of demands in cellular manufacturing system under multiple routes of parts. The objective is to minimize the expected total moving times of the material movement flow for the production lines. We formulate the dynamic programming model as a finite horizons. We investigate the model using the random data. Numerical examples are solved and presents the results of the sensitivity analysis. Finally, the model considers the demand fluctuation makes decision of the machine layout flexibility for high efficiency of the layout optimization problem.

Analysis of Trading Strategy based on ARIMA and dynamic programming model

Market traders obtain the maximum value by buying and selling two volatile assets, gold and bitcoin. This paper analyzes the historical data of each day to establish different asset value prediction models and investment transaction planning models, so as to give the market The best investment strategy for traders. First, use Lagrange interpolation method to supplement the missing data in gold, predict the future value by using the effective real data of gold and bitcoin, and select the previous 30-day data of gold and bitcoin as the training set respectively, and establish an ARIMA-based gold and bitcoin model. The Bitcoin prediction model predicts the value of the 31st day, and then predicts the value of different assets on the 32nd day through the real data of the first 31 days, so as to recursively give the predicted value of gold and Bitcoin in the past five years. Secondly, introduce the Sharpe ratio that has both risk and profitability, and use the predicted Sharpe ratio of the n+1 day as the objective function, the daily profit value is greater than or equal to the transaction commission, and invest in the cash, gold and bitcoin pairs after the transaction. The proportion of total assets is a non-negative number, these four are set as constraints, and the change in the proportion of gold and bitcoin is set as a decision variable, and an asset investment transaction model based on dynamic programming is established to make reasonable decisions on daily transactions, and get the results for each day. Cash, gold, bitcoin holding rates to get the highest benefits.

A dynamic programming model for Reconfigurable Vibrating Screen machine operations planning in a fluctuating market environment

Fluctuation in mineral concentrates demand has resulted into the design of a Reconfigurable Vibrating Screen (RVS) machine. However, the question; “which configuration(s) should this machine be configured to, at different periods in order to minimize the total operating cost of utilizing this machine in meeting the fluctuating customer demands?” still need to be answered by the designer of the machine. In light of this, this paper proposes a dynamic programming model that will ensure cost-effective configuration and utilization of the RVS machine in meeting fluctuating customers demand. The dynamic programming model was tested using the mineral concentrates demand of mining company XYZ. The results of the dynamic computation for this case study revealed that RVS machine must be operated using a configuration sequence of 4700mm × 2500mm, 3500mm × 2000mm and 4700mm × 2500mm, for a period of first two (2) months, second two (2) months and the last month respectively, in order to meet the customer’s five-month period demand in mining company XYZ, at a minimum total machine operations cost of R681966.21. The machine operations planning solution offered in this study serve as a knowledge advisor for RVS machine users towards ensuring just-in-time and exact screening of varying mineral concentrates demanded by the customers in a cost-effective manner using a reasonable power consumption.

A dynamic programming model for designing a quality control plan in a manufacturing process

Process quality planning should establish the quality control plan to achieve the desired quality level with the minimum quality cost (appraisal and failure costs) for the final product. This plan sets out the critical quality variables, the control stations in the process, and the control method at each control station. The quality costs associated with quality control and defective products can be greater than or less than ideal regarding the required quality level. The purpose of this paper is to provide a stochastic dynamic programming model for designing the quality control plan in a manufacturing process, which allows obtaining the desired level of control with the lowest cost. Inputs to the model are, in particular, control stations in the process, levels of quality, control methodologies (no control, statistical process control, 100% inspection), probabilities of changing the quality level and quality costs. The output of this model is the quality control plan that satisfies the desired level of quality at the lowest cost. This plan establishes the control stations, the methodology used in each control station, the desired quality level for the final product, and the estimated quality costs. Finally, an illustrative example based on a manufacturing process demonstrates the applicability of this approach and several considerations are reported about future research directions.

The decision of urban construction project investment is a complex decision system, but also a multi-stage, dynamic decision-making process. According to the city construction project group investment structure optimization, we should use the idea of dynamic programming to build establish mathematical model of the investment decision and use dynamic programming methods for solving mathematical model. To arrive at the total amount of urban construction in the existing financial constraints, it is able to get the maximum benefit and the best investment decision alternatives. The example shows that the algorithm is feasible and effective.

Band selection (BS) is a method for optimizing feature selection, which aims to of reduce the computational complexity of processing hyperspectral image (HSI). However, there are many BS methods applied to image classification, target detection, and anomaly detection. Furthermore, the existing BS methods ignore the spatial structure of HSI. To solve the above problems, we proposed a dynamic programming-based BS method for hyperspectral unmixing. In this paper, we use the convex geometric structure of HSI in band space to project it into the subspace to obtain depth spectral features, then construct a dynamic programming model to select representative bands. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, experiments are conducted on three widely used datasets, and compared with three popular BS methods. The experimental results show that the proposed method has satisfactory performance in different evaluation indexes (including signal to reconstruction error (SRE), root mean square error (RMSE)) and three quantitative evaluations (average information entropy (AIE), average correlation coefficient (ACC) and average relative entropy (ARE)).

This paper analyzes the business process of university personnel information management system. Then, based on the university cloud platform, combined with big data, combined with business services and diversified business services, the university personnel management system was established. Based on Microsoft Biztalk server, this system builds a new type of university human resource management system. Taking Microsoft Biztalk Server as an example, a service mode based on Biztalk server is proposed to solve the problems existing in the current university personnel work. To solve this problem, an optimization method based on genetic algorithm is proposed. On this basis, a new intelligent sorting algorithm is proposed. Compared with the existing algorithm, this algorithm saves 7.261s operation time. The algorithm is implemented on Biztalk server and its validity is verified. By experimental test, compared with the existing algorithms, the proposed optimization method can shorten the inference time. In this study, the optimization method based on genetic algorithm is used to optimize Biztalk server. Experimental results show that the running time of the algorithm is shorter. This has a certain reference significance for the design of Biztalk server. This method can effectively reduce the manual allocation task in the big data environment. The thesis has certain reference significance for promoting the informatization construction of school personnel work. © 2024 IEEE.

A dynamic programming model of China's strategic petroleum reserve: General strategy and the effect of emergencies

To protect the security of energy supply, China is building national strategic petroleum reserve (SPR). We present a dynamic programming model to determine the optimal stockpiling and drawdown strategies for China's SPR under various scenarios, focusing on minimizing the total cost of reserves. In contrast to previous research, the oil price given in our model is exogenous on a monthly instead of annual basis, with a view to more realistic simulation of optimal strategies each year. Our model results show that in the case where stockpiling affects oil prices, a given SPR size will be achieved earlier than when stockpiling does not affect oil prices. In different emergency conditions, the optimal stockpiling and drawdown strategies of China's SPR are very different. When an emergency occurs, the shock of stockpiling on the oil price per barrel could range $0.49-$6.35, while the impact of drawdown on the oil price per barrel could range -$6.22 to -$0.48. Customized bus passenger boarding and deboarding planning optimization model with the least number of contacts between passengers during COVID-19

The COVID-19 epidemic has had a major impact on people's normal travel. Optimizing the control of the number of passengers boarding and deboarding the customized bus (CB) at CB stops can reduce the contact between passengers in the course of travel, which is meaningful for COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control. In this paper, a dynamic programming model based on nonlinear integer programming (NIP) is established to study the problem of boarding and alighting planning at various CB stops under the influence of COVID-19. Using Gurobi 9.1.1 solver, the optimal plan for passengers boarding and deboarding CB buses could be obtained. Besides, the mathematical model established in this paper can obtain the minimum value of the total number of contacts between passengers during travel under different CB numbers. It is found that the model solution results eventually form a Pareto frontier. When the number of CB buses increases, the total number of contacts between passengers will decrease This study has positive significance for ensuring the normal travel of passengers during the COVID19 epidemic, and provides useful references for the studies about the planning of the customized bus.
