Design of I-PD Controller Based Modified Smith Predictor for Processes With Inverse Response and Time Delay Using equilibrium optimizer

In the process control industry, it is arduous to control some integrating or unstable processes since they involve time delays and have an inverse response. Conventional controllers such as PID cannot provide sufficient control performance alone in the control of these systems. This article proposes a control algorithm based on an I-PD-based Smith predictor for the control of time-delayed integrating or unstable inverse processes. The controller parameters are tuned by using the equilibrium optimizer (EO) algorithm, which is presented in the literature in 2020, in the proposed control approach. The EO algorithm aims to determine the optimal controller parameters by minimizing the error and control signal using a multi-objective function based on ITAE performance criterion. Thus, the controller parameters that will provide the set-point tracking and disturbance rejection control most properly can be determined. Simulation studies are conducted based on different process structures to evaluate the performance of the proposed method. The proposed method is compared with studies from the literature in terms of set-point tracking, parameter uncertainties, control signals, and disturbance rejection. It is seen that the transient responses and disturbance rejection of the time-delayed and inverse response integrating or unstable processes are improved with the proposed method.

A Mine Ventilation System Energy Saving Technique Based on an Improved equilibrium optimizer

Over the years, the ventilation systems used in coal mines have become more and more complex. Due to a lack of scientific and effective management, the energy consumed by ventilation systems has rapidly increased, resulting in considerable wasted energy. To solve this problem, the authors established a nonlinear optimization model aimed at minimizing the total energy consumption of a mine ventilation network. Furthermore, the authors propose an improved equilibrium optimizer algorithm to solve the model. First, the population is initialized by a chaotic map. Second, the adjustment strategy of a trigonometric function is introduced to improve the index F , which improves the global development ability of the algorithm, avoids falling into local optimum, and can improve the local search ability in the later stages. Then, Gaussian disturbance is introduced to enhance the diversity of particles and avoid falling into the local optimum. Finally, a learning factor was introduced to improve the generation rate G and improve the algorithm's integrity;it was then compared with other algorithms. The simulation results show that the performance of the improved algorithm is significantly better than other algorithms. It was tested with the ventilation system of Wangjialing mine of Zhongmei Huajin Energy Co., Ltd. The results showed that the energy consumption of the ventilation system was reduced by 17.83%. This method can save the mine about 2 million yuan RMB every year. The economic effect is remarkable, we achieved the purpose of energy conservation and emission reduction, and the effectiveness of the proposed method was verified.

The use of chemicals and preservatives during the production of most daily-used products has increased rapidly over the last few decades. In turn, manufacturers, to improve the sustainability of a manufacturing unit in the current highly competitive market, are obliged to provide various facilities to their customers. However, estimating the best optimal decision for manufacturing companies seems like a daunting task amid highly uncertain market conditions. By shedding more light on these facts and considering the gaps in the existing literature on production inventory, this work aims to incorporate a production model which is concerned with the factors mentioned above, so that it can be beneficial for a manufacturer. This work involves the demonstration of an imperfect green production system under single-layer full-trade credit financing and partial backlog shortages using interval flexibility. Based on the credit period lengths provided by the manufacturer to the consumers, three distinct cases have arisen and for each case, the average profit of the system appears to be an interval valued optimal control problem, and several theorems are evaluated to obtain analytical forms of respective objective functions of each case. Additionally, to test the effect of different credit lengths on optimal policy and to examine the feasibility of each case, a numerical example is solved using the equilibrium optimizer (EO) algorithm. Finally, a sensitivity experiment is performed and the results obtained from the simulation are shown graphically to gain some managerial insights.

In this work, the optimization of structural and mechanical problems is carried out using the equilibrium optimizer (EO), which is a recent physical-based *** the ten-bar planar truss structure, planetary gearbox, hydrostatic thrust bearing, and robot gripper mechanism problems are solved using the EO algorithm. The results achieved using the EO in solving these problems are compared with those of recent algorithms. The computational results show that EO yields better outcomes and competitive results that can also be applied for the other problems studied.

Using the integrated neural network of radial basis function (RBF) via optimization algorithms to estimate pile settlement range

The Pile motion seems to be one of the most critical in pile failure that requires appraisal before installing piles. The variables to estimate the Pile Settlement parameter, there are several methods. Among existing theoretical ways to investigate the pile movement mathematically, most studies have tried to model the piles' settlement overloading period using artificial intelligence. Thus, this research has used the Artificial Neural Network to have the actual status of pile motion vertically over the loading periods dynamically and statically. Therefore, the present research has utilized the Radial Basis Function Neural Network joint with equilibrium optimizer algorithm and Grasshopper Optimization algorithm to figure out the optimum number of neurons within the hidden layer. Kuala Lumpur's Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit transportation network, Malaysia, opted to model the piles' settlement and earth properties via the proposed hybrid RBF-GOAand RBF-EOA frameworks. By modeling both frameworks, the error index of RMSE for RBF-GOA and HRBF-EOA were gained to 0.6312 and 0.5947, respectively. However, the VAF indicator showed identical results of the rates 96.98 and 97.33, respectively. Overly, the RBF-EOA represented better than RBF-GOA by little efficiency.

In the context of "dual carbon" strategy, PV power generation will play a very important role, but the distribution network is increasingly affected by the uncertainty of PV power output. This paper proposes a dual-objective distribution network reactive power optimization method based on the adaptive equalization optimizer (AEO) algorithm, which uses adaptive inertia weighting to improve the convergence speed and accuracy of the algorithm based on the basic equalization optimizer algorithm. The AEO algorithm is established to solve the IEEE 33node distribution network containing PV access with minimum network loss and minimum voltage deviation as the objective function, and finally, the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed algorithm are verified by simulation analysis.

Image registration is an essential precondition for image processing tasks such as fusion and stitching. It is widely used in remote sensing and military reconnaissance et al. To deal with the registration of multimodal images with nonlinear intensity variations and geometric distortion, a hierarchical registration method from rough to precise is proposed in this paper. First, the significant gradient of the image is extracted utilizing phase consistency to associate with the intensity information. And a new similarity measurement method is constructed to perform rough image registration. Then, an improved equilibrium optimizer algorithm that incorporates the sine-cosine mechanism and the chaotic mapping strategy is proposed to improve the accuracy and efficiency of image registration. Finally, a local search operation is introduced on the basis of rough registration to improve the registration effect . Furthermore, qualitative and quantitative tests on the infrared and visible image datasets show the validity of the proposed registration scheme. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed scheme achieves the best robustness and accuracy compared with other state-of-the-art registration methods.

Improved Performance of the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor Sensorless Control System Based on Direct Torque Control Strategy and Sliding Mode Control Using Fractional Order and Fractal Dimension Calculus

This article starts from the premise that one of the global control strategies of the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM), namely the Direct Torque Control (DTC) control strategy, is characterized by the fact that the internal flux and torque control loop usually uses ON-OFF controllers with hysteresis, which offer easy implementation and very short response times, but the oscillations introduced by them must be cancelled by the external speed loop controller. Typically, this is a PI speed controller, whose performance is good around global operating points and for relatively small variations in external parameters and disturbances, caused in particular by load torque variation. Exploiting the advantages of the DTC strategy, this article presents a way to improve the performance of the sensorless control system (SCS) of the PMSM using the Proportional Integrator (PI), PI equilibrium optimizer algorithm (EOA), Fractional Order (FO) PI, Tilt Integral Derivative (TID) and FO Lead-Lag under constant flux conditions. Sliding Mode Control (SMC) and FOSMC are proposed under conditions where the flux is variable. The performance indicators of the control system are the usual ones: response time, settling time, overshoot, steady-state error and speed ripple, plus another one given by the fractal dimension (FD) of the PMSM rotor speed signal, and the hypothesis that the FD of the controlled signal is higher when the control system performs better is verified. The article also presents the basic equations of the PMSM, based on which the synthesis of integer and fractional controllers, the synthesis of an observer for estimating the PMSM rotor speed, electromagnetic torque and stator flux are presented. The comparison of the performance for the proposed control systems and the demonstration of the parametric robustness are performed by numerical simulations in Matlab/Simulink using Simscape Electrical and Fractional-Order Modelling and Control (FOMCON). An Approach of Vibration Compensation for Atomic Gravimeter under Complex Vibration Environment

Atomic gravimeter has been more frequently applied under complex and dynamic environments, but its measurement accuracy is seriously hampered by vibration-induced noise. In this case, vibration compensation provides a way to enhance the accuracy of gravity measurements by correcting the phase noise that resulted from the vibration of a Raman reflector, and improving the fitting of an interference fringe. An accurate estimation of the transfer function of vibration between the Raman reflector and the sensor plays a significant role in optimizing the effect of vibration compensation. For this reason, a vibration compensation approach was explored based on EO (equilibrium optimizer) for estimating the transfer function simplified model of a Raman reflector, and it was used to correct the interference fringe of an atomic gravimeter. The test results revealed that this approach greatly restored the actual vibration of the Raman reflector in a complex vibration environment. With a vibration compensation algorithm, it achieved the correction and fitting of the original interference fringe. In general, it dramatically reduced the RMSE (root mean square error) at the time of fitting and significantly improved the residual error in the gravity measurement. Compared with other conventional algorithms, such as GA (genetic algorithm) and PSO (particle swarm optimization), this approach realized a faster convergence and better optimization, so as to ensure more accurate gravity measurements. The study of this vibration compensation approach could provide a reference for the application of an atomic gravimeter in a wider and more complex environment.

Optimization of the non-stop switchover system control for the main fans used in mining applications

A stable ventilation system is an essential guarantee for the efficient production and safety of underground workers. In order to solve the big changes in underground air quantity, gas accumulation, and other problems caused by mine main fans switchover. This paper proposes a non-stop switchover system of the mine main fans based on intelligent control and establishes a dynamic optimization model for the switchover process of the mine main fans. The equilibrium optimizer algorithm is improved by chaos mapping and opposition learning machine based on refraction principle to solve the model, and the simulation experiment is carried out with MATLAB. The results show that the proposed method can effectively mitigate the change of underground air quantity during the switchover process of mine main fans. In the 120 s of system operation, the change rate of underground air quantity is consistently within 0.4%, and the two mine main fans always work in the stable interval, which proves the system's high efficiency, stability and safety.
