谈话语的流畅——对于话语标识“you know”的心理语言学分析(英文)

Some learners and instructors of English language are inclined to consider the phrases like"you know""well"to be meaningless pause-fillers, which only exist to make the utterance fluent, thus they don't like to use them too often in speech. This article gives a psycholinguistic study of the discourse marker"you know", not only does it relate the use to the speaker's complex cognitive process in the production of speech, but also it illustrates how"you know"functions in the interaction between the speaker and the hearer. finally, we come to conclude that it is useful and meaningful in our speech.

Policing and Public Power in the Italian Communes

In the thirteenth century, the city-republics of northern Italy began employing foreign mercenaries to patrol their streets and arrest lawbreakers. Before this, law enforcement was entirely the responsibility of citizens, and they had no full-time police forces. I ask why this new mode of policing emerged, how it operated, and what impact it had on life in the commune (as these self-governing cities were called). The argument is based on a close study of court records from the archives of Bologna, Siena, Perugia, and Orvieto. Bologna features most prominently as it boasts the richest and most concentrated record of police cases for the period of study (c. 1230-1330), but comparisons show its example to be representative. These records reveal that the new policing had a major impact on city life, both in quantitative and qualitative terms. The police enjoyed broad powers of arrest and accusation and through these made hundreds of citizens stand trial each year for curfew, weapons, and gambling offenses alone. In effect, the new policing meant fewer liberties for citizens: a policeman could coerce anyone into court with an accusing word, and that word itself constituted legal proof, making police charges difficult to beat. I argue that citizen-lawmakers brought this legal harassment upon themselves as part of their project to overcome factional violence and forge a more peaceful, virtuous city through the force of law. This project was largely a failure in the medieval period but did effect an important shift in the private-public divide, one that laid an important foundation for centralized government in later centuries.

This dissertation develops a Both/And method of transforming conflicts between seemingly incommensurable cultural frames of reference such as the rationalist progressive and the religious right in United States politics. Includes multi-disciplinary case studies of Chinese and Western cultural philosophies, hemispheric asymmetry, modern and postmodern discourse, and a local cultural conflict in Sonoma County, California in 1949. Integrates concepts drawn from cognitive science, hermeneutic philosophy, Gestalt psychology, cognitive anthropology, complex adaptive systems theory, and East-West cultural studies. findings: Logos in the form of instrumental rationality has become the dominant Western cultural mythos, (logos as mythos ), and has displaced and suppressed cultural historical sources of moral guidance such as community and religious traditions. One path towards rebalancing the relative power of logos and mythos modes of thinking is to displace the conventional Western heroic story of the rise of logos with a different historical interpretation which celebrates western cultural history as the emergence of cultural agency. This alternative historical narrative has the advantage of subordinating both mythos and logos cognitive modes of construing order and making meaning within a broader cultural historical narrative which esteems the human capacity for moral, cultural choice without abandoning the pragmatic value of science and math. The construction of this alternative is an example of the use of the Both/And approach. The Both/And approach interprets cultures as self-organizing complex adaptive systems. Cultural agents and agencies reproduce cultures by using cultural-cognitive recipes to construct cultural meanings. This approach intervenes in cultural conflicts to generate mutually educative discourses which empower conflicting parties to collaboratively learn plural ways of constructing meaning and creating new ways to frame their situation and new possibil

Demyelination coincides with numerous changes of gene expression in the central nervous system (CNS).Cystatin f (cys f), which is a papain-like lysosomal cysteine proteinase inhibitor that is normally expressed by immune cells and not in the brain, is massively induced in the CNS during acute *** our previous study, we found that the timing of cys f induction matches the ongoing demyelination and the places with cys f expression overlapped with the remyelinating area, however, the functional role of cys f in demyetinating disease is rather unknown.

采用固定床生物质热解反应系统和高温水解-离子色谱联用对麦秆、稻壳、木屑原样及不同温度下的热解焦与液体生物油中f和Cl离子的量及其迁徙行为进行深入地分析研究。生物质样品中f含量较低（约30mg／kg），而Cl含量较高（约2000mg／kg）。研究发现在生物质热解过程中f和Cl的迁徙特性有一定的相似性，在低温下（200℃）生物质样品中部分f和Cl随生物质的干燥脱水而挥发析出。热解温度的升高有利于固体样品中f和Cl的析出，其析出可分为低温段（200,--600℃）和高温段（〉600℃）。低温段f和cl的析出较快，主要以Hf、Sif4和HCl的形式析出，而高温段主要是f和Cl的碱金属盐直接熔融挥发，析出速度相对较慢，而不同生物质样品的f、Cl析出特性也会因其物化特性的不同而不同。该研究对生物质热转化利用技术的发展有着积极的作用。

The pneumatic fast transfer system position at KAMINI reactor, Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, India was characterized by determining the epithermal neutron flux shape factor (alpha) and the sub-cadmium to epithermal neutron flux ratio (f) for k (0)-based Neutron Activation Analysis (k (0)-NAA). for determination of alpha value, bare, Cd-ratio and Cd-cover methods were employed using dual and multi monitors namely Au, Zr and Zn. for calculation of f, Au and Zr monitors were used in the case of bare method and Au monitor was used for cadmium ratio and cadmium cover methods. The determined alpha-value of PfTS indicated a hard epithermal neutron spectrum and the f value indicated about 96 % thermal neutron component. for validation of k (0)-NAA method, reference materials namely NIST SRM 1646a (Estuarine Sediment) and BCS Nb-stabilized Stainless Steel (BCS/SS No.261/1) were analyzed. The percentage errors of the determined concentration values of elements were within +/- 5 % with respect to the certified values and the Z-score values at 95 % confidence level were within +/- 2 in most of the cases.
