fluctuation of molten steel level in continuous casting process is a critical issue. The analytic function for the liquid steel surface stability index( f) of the continuous casting slab mold under the action of electromagnetic stirring was derived. The effects on the f value of the electromagnetic field,casting mold,submerged entry nozzle,and casting speed were observed,and the stability of the process parameters of a practical continuous casting system was evaluated. The main results generated are as follows:①Based on the free flow jet theory,a formula is established for the level stability index of continuous casting slab mold under electromagnetic stirring.②According to the results of calculation,the various parameters in decreasing order of the magnitude of their influence are magnetic flux density,nozzle submersion depth,casting speed,slab width,stirring current frequency,and nozzle side-hole inclination angle.③for practical continuous casting with a slab thickness of 230 mm,the calculated f values are between 3 and 5 for different matches between slab width and casting speed,but the parameter optimization space is much larger for wider slab widths and lower casting speeds.

By conjugation experiments the position of the genetic determinant syn on the chromosome of Escherichia coli strain B has been determined. This syn marker which affects the radiation sensitivity of the strain, is located between the markers controlling xylose fermentation and streptomycin resistance. The fertility factor of an E. coli K 12 strain has been transferred to an auxotrophe of a radiation-sensitive mutant of E. coli B (syn − ). By using subjecting the latter to conjugation with E. coli C the syn − marker has been transferred to that strain. Besides its increased ultraviolet-light sensitivity a syn − strain differs from the wild type (syn + ) by its decreased ability to propagate ultraviolet-inactivated bacteriophage T 1 , T 3 , T 7 and λ. It is concluded that like the u gene of bacteriophage T 4 , the bacterial syn gene controls a process, concerned with the repair of ultraviolet-light lesions.

He majored in History and minored in Philosophy and International Relations and has been teaching in colleges and universities since late 1960s. He had taught mainly courses on social thought political sociology and social history of Modern China and involved himself in Southeast Asian Studies with emphasis on Chinese in Southeast Asia. In 1977–1978 he taught History of the US and its Foreign Policy in Malone College Canton Ohio. Entering 1980s he became a Visiting Scholar in institutions in China Japan India and South Korea and was offered an Honorary Doctor by the Far Eastern Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He has written and printed more than 20 books in Chinese. His many presentations about the four Chinese socioeconomies and their international implications have proved to be provocative and creative. His new book entitled On the Future History of the Chinese Civilization: 22nd World and Its Chinese Civilizations is expected to be published in early 2019.

Sociocultural development and international relation are virtually incessant interconnectivities at different levels of human society which lead to the creation of different civilizations and its interactions. Therefore, the so-called “PAH-BRI” is believed to be a possible new form of socioeconomic cooperation. If so, the current trade disputes and future Sino-American relationship could be reconstructed effectively within the “‘ f -shaped’ PAH-BRI” formula. furthermore, entering the “#3.0”, it is expected that any form of the “PAH-BRI”-like projects is not easy for any single power or its bloc to manipulate mainly for its own interests, ethno-centrism and egoism. Any promising arrangement between any two parties should always leave a room for the third party to come or to drop out.
