From the aspects of energy saving and emission reduction, data monitoring and analysis, the monitoring requirements of distribution system and equipment are emphatically analyzed, a set of power energy efficiency monitoring terminal which can collect and process various electrical data is put forward, and the core algorithm of data acquisition and processing system of this terminal is studied and designed in this paper. The main contents of this paper include the detailed design of the fft algorithm for harmonic analysis of devices, and the fft algorithm using rectangular window, Manning window, I lamming window, single-peak spectral line interpolation, bimodal spectral line interpolation and other interpolation methods is compared and analyzed, finally, the improved fft algorithm is proposed. A large number of experiments on the system show that the improved ITT algorithm can effectively improve the calculation accuracy of harmonic analysis when asynchronous sampling, and fully meet the actual needs of the power industry, so the research and design of this paper has a high theoretical reference value and practical value.

fft-based selective harmonic current control of AC filter capacitors for audible noise analysis

With the development of High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) and ultra HVDC, a growing number of high voltage film filter capacitors have been installed for harmonic suppression. But the capacitors generate severe audible noise in the converters, which has become more and more serious. Then it is important to imitate the practical working situation of capacitors for the research of noise characteristics to improve the capacitive performance in lab. In this paper, a fft-based harmonic current control method is proposed for audible noise analysis of AC filter capacitor. Firstly, mathematical model of the Harmonic Current Injection System (HCIS) is built based on MATLAB. Then a Fast Fourier Transform (fft) harmonics detection method is analyzed and used to detect the amplitude and phase of each harmonic considering a number of harmonic currents flowing through AC filter capacitors. Since the amplitude and phase spectrum of capacitor current are obtained, the Proportional Integral (PI) regulator is applied to adjust the specified harmonic amplitude to achieve zero-error control. Then accurate harmonic current can be injected to the tested capacitor and it will help to acquire the noise characteristics of the tested plant. At last, the simulation and experimental results validate the proposed strategy.

The pricing of compound option under variance gamma process by fft

In this paper, we price a compound option with log asset price following an extended variance gamma process. The extended variance gamma process can control the skewness and kurtosis. The parameters of the model are estimated via the maximum likelihood method from historical data. We start with finding the risk neutral Esscher measure under which the discounted asset price process is a martingale. Then we derive an analytical pricing formula for compound option in terms of the Fourier integral of the characteristic function of extended variance gamma process, and we use this formula, in combination with the fft algorithm, to calculate the compound option price across the whole spectrum of the exercise price. Finally, we present some numerical results for illustration.

Periodic structures utilized as transducer or reflector elements play an important role in microacoustic wave devices. Such structures can be described using approximate analytical models. However, to obtain the accuracy required for reliable device simulation, numerical methods have to be employed. In this contribution, we present an efficient numerical approach to calculate the dispersion curves associated with microacoustic modes propagating in periodic structures;the method is demonstrated for the case of Love wave modes. The computational efficiency is related to the utilization of the fft algorithm in a hybrid Method of Moments (MoM) /Mode-Matching analysis, From the obtained dispersion curves, characteristic parameters such as the stopband width can be obtained which can be used in a coupling-of-modes (COM) model of the structure.

Modern computer architecture provides a special instruction - the fused multiply-add (FMA) instruction - to perform both a multiplication and an addition operation at the same time. In this paper newly developed radix-2, radix-3, and radix-5 fft kernels that efficiently take advantage of this powerful instruction are presented. If a processor is provided with FMA instructions, the radix-a fft algorithm introduced has the lowest complexity of all Cooley-Tukey radix-2 algorithms. All floating-point operations are executed as FMA instructions. Compared to conventional radix-3 and radix-5 kernels, the new radix-3 and radix-5 kernels greatly improve the utilization of FMA instructions, which results in a significant reduction in complexity. In general, the advantages of the fft algorithms presented in this paper are their low arithmetic complexity, their high efficiency, and their striking simplicity Numerical experiments show that fft programs using the new kernels clearly outperform even the best conventional fft routines.

A novel parallel prefix adder for optimized Radix-2 fft processor

The Fast Fourier Transform (fft) is the basic building block for DSP applications where high processing speed is the critical requirement. Resource utilization and the number of computational stages in Radix-2 fft structure implementation can be minimized by improving the performance of utilized multiplier and adder blocks. This work proposes a hardware design of an efficient Radix-2 fft architecture using optimized multiplier and novel Parallel prefix (PP) adder. The designed fft architecture results in low power and area with an increase in operation speed in comparison to the existing architectures. Our proposed Radix 2 fft implementation results in 18.218 ns (6.030 ns logic delay and 12.118 ns router delay) in comparison with 24.003 ns delay for Wallace multiplier using Kogge Stone PP adder (M1P1), 24.162 ns delay for Wallace multiplier using Brent Kung PP adder (M2P2), 24.889 ns delay for Wallace multiplier using Landner Fischer PP adder (M3P3) and 22.827 ns delay for Wallace multiplier using Han Carlson PP adder (M4P4) algorithm. The proposed adder and hence the fft processor can be used in different applications where high speed, low power, and less area is required. The novel PP architecture results in a 20.19% improvement in comparison with other state-of-art techniques.

A partially operated fft/Ifft processor for low complexity OFDM modulation and demodulation of WiBro in-car entertainment system

Wireless broadband (WiBro) systems can provide high data rate wireless internet access with personal subscriber station under the stationary or mobile environment. It is the orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) in time division duplex (TDD) system with 768 useful subcarriers over a nominal bandwidth of 8.75 MHz at 2.3 GHz band and each frame is composed of 42 OFDM symbols, corresponding to 5ms. For moduladon and demodulation in the WiBro communication system, the fourier fast transform (fft) processing is the most speed and power consumption critical path. In this paper, we describe 4096 points fft and inverse fft processor for mobile in-car entertainment systems. To obtain low complexities, small computation power and distributed memory, partially operated over-sampling architecture is developed to meet the requirement of non-stopping and high-speed data throughput. From experiment results, we can show that our methods reduce the complexity about 37.8% and it is suitable to implementation in mobile devices for WiBro consumer application which is required small area and low-power such as multimedia data service.

The possibility of computing the discrete cosine transform (DCT) of length N = 2(nu), nu integer, via an N-point discrete Fourier transform (DFT) is widely known from the literature, In this letter, it will be demonstrated that this computation can be done in place by just employing butterfly swaps if the input reordering (necessary for the DCT computation via DFT) is combined with the bit-reverse scrambling required by the real-valued version of the decimation-in-time fast Fourier transform algorithm.

Fast Fourier Transform (fft) is widely used in OFDM. To increase the speed of data processing, there is designing a new system that is composed of two DSP subsystems and an X86-PC subsystem. In the experiment, Parallel DSP subsystems deal with the primary data. For analyzing the experiment result, the conclusion can be made that there is an outstanding capacity in dealing with fft and the capacity can be farther improved.
