The poor convergence of surface mechanical responses of asphalt pavement has always been an important factor affecting the application of elastic system mechanics. This paper briefly reviewed the analytical solutions of the elastic multilayered system under an elliptical load. Then, the calculation efficiency of mechanical response at the surface was analyzed. Afterward, the integral kernel oscillation of mechanical response was analyzed. And it shows that the reason for the poor calculating efficiency of surface mechanical response is that Bessel function is difficult to converge. Finally, a fast calculation method was proposed through the piecewise calculation of integral and the simple formula of integral with Bessel function. The accuracy and efficiency of the proposed method was evaluated with comparing the initial calculation program. The result shows that the proposed method could greatly improve the efficiency of calculation and control the error within 1%.

Internal explosions are more complicated and destructive than external explosions. It is hard to give accurate predictions of the internal blast load by existing simplified models. In the present work, a fast calculation method for the shock wave of internal blast within a confined space was developed. Firstly, the theoretical bases of this method, the reflection addition rules and the image burst theory, were introduced and validated. Then, the concept of the influence region of image burst for internal blast calculation was proposed, and the detailed calculation method for internal blast load was presented. In addition, the internal blast loads inside a typical cubic structure and a tunnel model were calculated using this developed method, respectively. Moreover, comparison studies between the calculated results and experimental data as well as numerical simulation results were conducted. It was found that the results of the fast calculation model are in good agreement with those of the blast experiment and fine numerical simulation, but the fast calculation takes only less than 2 min. Finally, the advantages and defects of the present method were discussed and further study advices were suggested to improve the accuracy.

With the accumulation of time, the accuracy of Monte Carlo algorithm will be higher and higher, and the same is true when it is applied to the calculation of AUV conductor discovery probability. However, in some special scenarios, it is often necessary to obtain high-precision AUV guide discovery probability in a short time to seize the opportunity. In this paper, a fast algorithm for AUV guide discovery probability based on Monte Carlo is proposed, The time distribution of each sub algorithm is calculated by using Monte Carlo algorithm to simulate the detection probability of AUV conductor, and the sub algorithm that takes more time is found out for targeted optimization, so as to achieve the purpose of shortening the time. The simulation results show that the fast solution method can significantly shorten the time of the Monte Carlo algorithm for the detection probability of AUV line guide under the premise of ensuring the accuracy of the results.

The static performances of the aerostatic spindles/guideways are significantly affected by the fluid-structure interaction (FSI) effect. However, the existing two-way FSI calculation method for the aerostatic spindles and guideways is inefficient. It takes much time to calculate the optimal parameters and static performance in the design and study process. This paper proposes a fast calculation method for the optimal clearance and stiffness of the aerostatic guideway considering FSI, and the calculation process of a cruciform-layout aerostatic guideway was detailed as a case study. Moreover, the accuracy of the proposed fast calculation method is verified numerically and experimentally, which proves that the computational efficiency can be improved dozens or even hundreds of times under the premise of minor calculation errors.

The conventional control strategies of shunt active power filter (SAPF) normally focus on the compensation for local non-linear loads, which may become uneconomical with a number of distributed non-linear loads. For an optimised network-wide harmonic suppression method, harmonic power flow calculation is the basis, and non-linear load modelling is the key which affects the accuracy and efficiency. First, this study discussed an accurate, but complicated non-linear load model, the coupled admittance matrix model for a typical harmonic source, phase-controlled rectifier, in detail, and proposed a fast calculation method which can simplify the calculation process evidently and explain the variation rules of model parameters clearly. Second, the main harmonic coupling characteristics of the rectifiers are analysed based on the calculation method, thus the rectifier matrix model is simplified and then an impedance-based network harmonic model for networks with distributed rectifiers is established. Finally, based on the network model, a promising control strategy of SAPF for network-wide harmonic suppression is presented, by which network parameters are acquired by online impedance measurement technique and good compensation performance is assured by the proposed network model. Experimental results and simulations are provided to validate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

Comprehensive Parametric Study of Hammer Impact in Pile Driving Based on a General Analytical Dynamic Model

For the complex dynamic model of pile driving impact, there are many parameters in the system, so it is difficult to study the parameters of the pile driving impact system comprehensively and accurately. Given the normal construction of the hydraulic pile driving, this paper proposes a general dynamic model, namely the Ram-Damping Ram Cushion-Anvil-Damping Pile Cushion-Pile (R-DRC-A-DPC-P) model, which can be easily simplified into other existing typical models. For the R-DRC-A-DPC-P model, the Laplace transform expressions of dimensionless impact force on the pile head in each movement stage of the system are derived. It is found that if the Laplace transformation of dimensionless impact force is taken as a function G, then the unit impulse response of G is equivalent to the dimensionless impact force response. With this approach, the impact force can be computed quickly and comprehensive parametric studies can be realized easily. Taking the energy transfer efficiency of the pile driving impact system and the peak value of the dimensionless impact force as the reference indeces, this paper presents a comprehensive analysis and summary of the parameters of the proposed R-DRC-A-DPC-P as well as other typical models. Besides, the performance of these systems is compared and analyzed, and the recommended ranges of parameters and the key points in designing them are summarized.

FSSBP: fast Spatial-Spectral Back Projection Based on Pan-Sharpening Iterative Optimization

Pan-sharpening is an important means to improve the spatial resolution of multispectral (MS) images. Although a large number of pan-sharpening methods have been developed, improving the spatial resolution of MS while effectively maintaining its spectral information has not been well solved so far, and it has also been taken as a criterion to measure whether the sharpened product can meet the practical needs. The back-projection (BP) method iteratively injects spectral information backwards into the sharpened results in a post-processing manner, which can effectively improve the generally unsatisfied spectral consistency problem in pan-sharpening methods. Although BP has received some attention in recent years in pan-sharpening research, the existing related work is basically limited to the direct utilization of the BP process and lacks a more in-depth intrinsic integration with pan-sharpening. In this paper, we analyze the current problems of improving the spectral consistency based on BP in pan-sharpening, and the main innovative works carried out on this basis include the following: (1) We introduce the spatial consistency condition and propose the spatial-spectral BP (SSBP) method, which takes into account both spatial and spectral consistency conditions, to improve the spectral quality while effectively solving the problem of spatial distortion in the results. (2) The proposed SSBP method is analyzed theoretically, and the convergence condition of SSBP and a more relaxed convergence condition for a specific BP type, degradation transpose BP, are given and proved theoretically. (3) fast computation of BP and SSBP is investigated, and non-iterative fast BP (FBP) and fast SSBP algorithms (FSSBP) methods are given in a closed-form solution with significant improvement in computational efficiency. Experimental comparisons with combinations formed by seven different BP-related post-processing methods and up to 18 typical base methods show that the proposed methods are

A fast calculation tool for accessing the shading effect of surrounding buildings on window transmitted solar radiation energy

Most existing Urban Building Energy Modeling (UBEM) tools cannot simultaneously achieve fast and accurate simulation of regional building energy consumption with the consideration of shading effect from surrounding buildings. This study explored how the different designs of surrounding buildings affect the window transmitted solar radiation energy (WTSRE) of the target building by performing a parametric study using EnergyPlus, and proposed one method that can rapidly assess the shading effect of surrounding buildings at the design stage based on the databases obtained from the parametric study. A SketchUp plug-in named MOOSAS-fastSolar was developed based on the proposed method. By comparing the calculation results of the MOOSAS-fastSolar with the simulation results of EnergyPlus, the method developed by this research can greatly shorten the calculation time from more than 1 h to tens of seconds while keeping the accuracy of the calculation results within an acceptable range (the computational error is less than 15%). In addition, from the parametric simulation results, some recommendations were provided to help building designers achieve energy-efficient design at the conceptional design stage.

Numerical Investigation of Classic Flutter Mechanism Under Circumferentially Non-Uniform Inlet Condition

Over recent years, the aeroelastic problem of fan blades has become significantly serious due to the demand for high performance of aero-engines. To explore the aeroelastic issue of flutter, fan instability is represented by the aerodynamic damping. When the inlet condition is uniform, aerodynamic damping is mainly caused by the temporal factor, and the classic flutter usually does not occur due to the usage of mistuning. However, with the existence of circumferentially non-uniform components in the distorted inflow, aerodynamic damping is also affected by the spatial factor, which may alter the occurrence mechanism of classic flutter. To investigate this issue, the full-annulus 3D (three-dimensional) unsteady calculation is conducted on a transonic fan NASA Rotor 67 with a typical circumferential distortion inflow. As demonstrated by the energy method for the rotor blades at each nodal diameter, the coefficients of aerodynamic damping contain an interval value rather than a fixed datum. Some of the blades have positive damping, and others are negative. The positive and negative aerodynamic damping is determined by the relative position between the rotor blade and the distorted region in the circumferential direction. Furthermore, a fast calculation method based on the fundamental principle regarding flow periodicity is developed to obtain the aerodynamic damping at different nodal diameters under non-uniform inlet conditions.
