This study presents a novel feature selection (FS) algorithm aimed at enhancing the accuracy of heart disease prediction. Our approach combines Relief and logistic regression techniques to identify essential features and their interactions within the model. Relief acts as a filter, effectively reducing dimensionality by assessing the significance of individual features based on their discriminatory power between individuals with and without cardiac disease. Meanwhile, logistic regression, functioning as a wrapper method, refines FS by considering their collective impact within the model. Our hybrid ReliefF + logistic regression approach demonstrates superior performance compared to existing methods, achieving an accuracy of 92.39%. These results underscore the algorithm's potential for practical implementation in heart disease prediction. Moreover, the selected features identified by our algorithm align with established medical practices, further validating its relevance and applicability in clinical settings. This research contributes to the advancement of heart disease prediction by offering a robust and accurate FS framework tailored to clinical needs.

Line simplification algorithms are often used to render high-resolution geographic features at appropriate resolutions when applied to polygons. They are generalization techniques in which selective vertices are removed from a line feature to eliminate details whilst preserving the line’s basic shape. In this paper, two different line simplification algorithms (Douglas-Peucker and Visvalingam-Whyatt) are used in conjunction with spatial join of geo-referenced mobility and air quality data, to reduce the size of the polygon files. A filter-and-refinement dimensionality reduction-based approach is then used to join the data. This framework allows for an optimized spatial join on an integrated schema through a state-of-the-art filter-and-refine based approach. The reduced files can then be used in geospatial related data science tasks such as DBSCAN, clustering, and regression at lower computational costs. Our experimental results show that incorporating a reduction approach such as line simplification before performing the spatial join can significantly reduce the computational cost and improve the performance with the number of vertices reduced by 94% after simplification and accuracy, MAPE is minimized with a low score of 0.048 and 0.049 for DP-Map shaper and VW-Map shaper respectively.

Content personalization on social platforms has been linked to the creation of filter bubbles. The algorithms provide content recommendations based on the user’s browsing history and interests, which limits content diversity. Studies have been conducted on platforms such as Facebook and YouTube to investigate user awareness and strategies to exit filter bubbles. However, no study has employed a multi-platform, user-centered perspective in investigating filter bubble exit through change in search content, as well as the duration of the content transition across multiple platforms. This study examines the duration of user exit of filter bubbles, across three social platforms; TikTok, YouTube Shots, and Instagram Reels, as well as the impact of word similarity on the duration of the transition between contents, across the platforms. The methodology applied involved triggering the filter bubble effect through user interactions with the search content across the different platforms. Findings revealed that the mean time of a transition between search terms on TikTok is significantly higher than the mean time on Instagram reels, and YouTube shorts. Similarly, the study identified differences in the duration of transition across the different platforms, due to the similarity of the search terms. Apart from improving user awareness of a filter bubble exit strategy, this study contributes to Human-Computer Interaction research by highlighting some design implications for future social media application design.

With the rapid advancement of the Anhui electricity spot market and the continuous increase in market size, there are more and more concerns about market members abusing market power (MP). In this study, we aim to comprehensively evaluate the market power of thermal units and accurately identify market power abuse behavior. Firstly, we constructed a market power indicator system applicable to the Anhui electricity spot market. Then we use Elastic Net Regression (ENR) algorithm for indicator screening and weight determination. The proposed method was validated by using the actual trial operation results as an example.

Aiming at the problem of large azimuth between the ship-borne equipment coordinate system and the ship center coordinate system, a fast transfer alignment method is proposed. The nonlinear error equation of strapdown inertial navigation system (SINS) under the condition of large azimuth misalignment angle and ship deflection model are established. According to the requirements of rapidity and accuracy of transfer alignment, the state space model of reduced-dimension transfer alignment is constructed, and the fast transfer alignment method of speed plus attitude is designed. Using the high-precision inertial navigation information of ship-borne with strong anti-interference and autonomy as auxiliary information, and using CKF and UKF nonlinear filtering algorithms, the rapid transfer alignment of ship-borne inertial navigation under the condition of large azimuth misalignment angle is realized. The simulation results show that regardless of the level of sea conditions, CKF and UKF can achieve accurate estimation of attitude misalignment angle, which is the main alignment parameter of shipborne inertial navigation system, and the alignment accuracy can reaches the level of angular division.

In this paper, the tracking performance debugging of the shipboard servo system and the working principle of the target simulator are studied, and a method to test the performance of the shipboard servo on the basis of the target simulator adding the function of simulating the geodetic target is presented. Finally, experiments verify the correctness and effectiveness of the method.

To achieve high sample rates, the system can utilize multiple analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) employing the time-interleaved analog-to-digital conversion (TIADC) technique. In this article, we use two ADC08DJ3200 to design a 12.5-Gs/s 8-bit TIADC system, each ADC08DJ3200 has two subADCs. Therefore, the system can be regarded as a four-channel TIADC system. In order to achieve better performance of the system, we have made corrections to the system. We have adopted the strategy of estimating first and correcting later. We estimate the channel mismatch coefficients of the system in the bandwidth with 0∼5GHz. The correction algorithm based on the periodic time-varying filter is applied to the system, and good results are obtained in the wide band of input signal frequency. The calibration results prove the proposed system is feasible.

A key feature of extended target (ET) is that it can produce multiple measurements, thus providing detailed information such as size, orientation. However, due to the measurement number decrease, the ET tends to be a point target (PT) when it becomes far from the sensor, leading to disability of estimating the extensions. In this paper we consider the problem of distributed ETs tracking based on multiple sensors. In such a case the measurements decrease of an ET can be compensated by other sensors, so that the tracking performance can be maintained. In the proposed algorithm the targets are modeled by Poisson multi-Bernoulli (PMB) random finite set (RFS) and the state of each target consists of two parts representing the possibility of being ET and PT, respectively. In the local filtering state, interaction between ET and PT states is considered in the prediction step for target identity change between ET and PT, based on which the local PMB filter is achieved for seamlessly tracking ETs and PTs. In the fusion part a generalized covariance intersection (GCI) based criterion is proposed to fuse the posteriors of each sensor. The performance of proposed algorithm is verified via simulations.

Snapshot multispectral imaging systems typically capture multispectral images in a single shot by covering the sensor with a multispectral filter array (MSFA). A demosaicking algorithm is generally required for such systems to reconstruct the full-resolution multispectral images. A two-stage demosaicking method is proposed in this paper. In the first stage, the image is progressively interpolated by Neville filters. In the second stage, the directional interpolation with a novel weighting function is performed to enhance the quality of the pre-interpolated image. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach achieves superior performance in both subjective and objective assessments.
