This paper focuses on designing a complex fractional differentiator for the order α+jβ. An approximation technique using curve fitting based iterative algorithm is proposed for the implementation of these differentiators. Furthermore, the development of various complex fractional-order filters, namely low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and all-pass, is presented. Bode diagrams from the results show that the proposed filters have produced a similar behavior to the conventional and fractional filter. Similarly, Bode diagrams of approximated filters using the proposed technique also confirms the achievement of similar behavior to the traditional and fractional filter. The step response on the process plant also proved that the fractional low-pass filter with complex order accomplished well on filtering the noise signal.

In the context of real-world agricultural settings, robots frequently encounter uneven terrain when navigating through tilled fields. Such irregularities can lead to the robot drifting off course. To achieve effective autonomous navigation for agricultural robots, it is crucial to develop strategies for accurately detecting crop rows to mitigate the impact of external disturbances. In this paper, a novel algorithm of crop row detection for field robots that incorporates a multi-head attention mechanism and Res-Net model is presented (MRA-ResNet). First, real-time field video captured by an agricultural robot is processed for frame extraction to obtain a large number of images, which are initially convolved by an adaptive threshold filter to obtain key frame features. Then, the crop features in the field are learned by setting up a multi-region attention module, segmenting the crop and background, and dividing the learned crop feature images into several vertical image strips. These learned vertical image strips are then mapped to the low latitude for classification by vertical projection and MRA-ResNet. Finally, the center-line of the crop rows is further determined accurately. The experimental results show that MRA-ResNet can well realize crop row detection in the field.

Recently, 3D Gaussian Splatting (3D-GS) has gained popularity in novel-view scene synthesis, achieving high fidelity and efficiency. However, the rendering quality of 3D-GS is still not up to the quality of the best methods in NeRF, and serious artifacts will occur when changing the sampling rate and changing the focal length or camera distance. Another significant problem is that interactive real-time rendering of complex scenes also has great limitations. To address this challenge, we have come up with a new rendering system, UE-GS, that blends 3D-GS with traditional rendering techniques in Unreal Engine 5 (UE5) to achieve higher quality visuals. Our approach draws inspiration from UE5's Level of Detail (LOD) technology. When changing the focal length or camera distance, we dynamically render LOD for different viewing levels, and replace the dilatation filter in 3D-GS with 2D EWA filtering, effectively alleviating the problems of aliasing and dilatation artifacts. Use octree to optimize spatial point data in complex scenes (40 million Gaussian +) and customize rendering components so that they are not limited by particle counts in UE5. We validated our approach on a variety of data sets and scenes that retain visual quality, achieving better rendering quality and faster training and reasoning speed than 3D-GS, while retaining the benefits of real-time performance. In addition, rendering in UE5 helps with scene editing in subsequent stages.

In this paper, a zero-watermarking algorithm based on fuzzy adaptive resonance theory (ART) is proposed. There are three roles in the algorithm: the signer, the verifier, and trusted authority (TA). The signer is responsible for constructing the verification information of the host image with fuzzy ART, the verifier can be anyone who wants to check the ownership of the host image, and TA is responsible for generating the certificate of the protected image for the signer. The experimental results show that the watermarking algorithm is robust against image processing such as median filtering, JPEG compression, additive Gaussian noise, cropping and rotation attacks and so on.

Cheese yarn is made up of cotton yarn by winding method which makes it texture element coarse, which leads to trouble in the defects detection process. Therefore, a novel cheese yarn surface defects detection algorithm based on multidirectional matching filter (MMF) was proposed. Firstly, the source image is processed by OTSU threshold method, and the ellipse circle fitting method is used to determine the position of the ring-shaped surface of cheese yarn. Then, polar coordinate transformation is used to expand the ring-shaped surface to a rectangle. According to the texture characteristics of cheese yarn, different-of-Gaussian (DoG) operator is used to extract the edge image. After that, the angle range of 0 to 180 is quantified into several directional template images which are used to correlate with edge image, and the maximum correlation result of each pixel is elected to the maximum correlation image. The defects are segmented out from the maximum correlation image by an empirical threshold according to prior information. Finally, using the texture of the cheese yarn and prior information to refine the multidirectional matching filter image, using the shape information of connected domain to determine the location of the defects. The experiment shows that our method can effectively detect the “net-yarn” surface defects caused by improper forming process of the cheese yarn. The algorithm proposed in this paper can detect the surface defects of cheese with high realtime performance, which is suitable for on-line detection of cheese defects.

The developed acoustic echo canceller uses an exponentially weighted step-size projection algorithm and a duo-filter control system to achieve fast convergence and high speech quality. The duo-filter control system has an adaptive filter and a fixed filter, and uses variable-loss insertion. Evaluation of this system with multi-channel A/D and D/A converters showed that (1) the convergence speed is under 1.5 seconds for speech input when the adaptive filter length is 125 ms, (2) the residual echo level is nearly as low as the ambient noise level (average: under −20 dB; maximum: under −35 dB), and (3) near-end speech is sent with no disturbance during double talk.

Establishing an effective financial crisis prediction model has profound significance to enterprises’ survival and development. In order to develop accurate financial crisis prediction model, the key step is to select some appropriate features or variables relevant to the prediction, which is called feature selection problem. Appropriate features can contribute greatly to the prediction performance. In this paper, in order to select appropriate features, we propose a hybrid filter-wrapper approach. In the filter phase, we employ the information gain and Spearman correlation as evaluation criteria. In the wrapper phase, we integrate the water wave optimization (WWO), which is adapted based on the solution space of feature selection problem. The computational experiments demonstrate that the adapted algorithm performance better than the compared algorithms on the test instances.

This paper considers output-only identification for discrete-time hysteretic Lur'e (DTHL) systems, which are Lur'e systems with hysteretic feedback. The discrete-time model used to identify DTHL systems consists of asymptotically stable linear dynamics, a time delay, a washout filter, and a hysteretic nonlinear feedback mapping. A nonlinear least-squares identification algorithm is developed for DTHL systems as an extension of an existing technique for identifying Lur'e systems with memoryless nonlinearity feedback. Numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness of this technique for identifying DTHL systems.

This paper considers the joint design of transmit waveform and receive filter for FDA-MIMO radar in the presence of the deceptive jammers. In our system design, the problem is formulated to maximize the Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio (SINR) while incorporating constant modulus and similarity constraints. Specifically, for the emerged non-convex waveform optimization problem, an iterative algorithm based on the Majorization-Minimization (MM) framework is proposed to approximate the optimal solution. Furthermore, a projection algorithm is developed to eliminate the constraints. Finally, numerical simulation results illustrate that the proposed method can efficiently suppress the deceptive jammers by evaluating the SINR performance, similarity to the reference waveform, and beampattern.

In a number of adaptive filtering applications, non-Wiener effects have been observed for the (normalized) least- mean-square algorithm. These effects can lead to performance improvements over the fixed Wiener filter with the same model structure, and are characterized by dynamic behavior of the adaptive filter weights. Here we investigate whether such non-Wiener effects can also occur in the recursive least squares algorithm, and under which circumstances. Examples show that non-Wiener effects can also occur with the recursive least squares algorithm, in particular when the exponential forgetting factor is small. The latter corresponds to a short memory depth, the need for which one generally associates with tracking of time-varying phenomena.
