As an advanced control method of permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM),finite control set model predictive control(FCS-MPC) has earned widespread attention for its advantages of intuitive concept,splendid dynamic performance and capability of handling the constraints and ***,the dependence on the model parameter accuracy is the main barrier for FCS-MPC to be applied to the industry *** order to solve this issue,this paper presents a robust FCS-MPC against parameter *** proposed strategy utilizes the prediction error in the d-and q-axis currents during the past instant to calculate the compensation which should be added to the predicted currents in the next ***,the cost function in the proportional-integral form is designed as ***,the simulation results and experimental results prove the proposed method's effectiveness in suppressing the influence of model parameter mismatch on the control performance of PMSM.

In this paper a predictive control technique for an indirect matrix converter is proposed. The control strategy allows the output current control and the instantaneous reactive input power minimization of the converter without any weighting factor in the controller and, at the same time, the operation at fixed switching frequency. Simulation results validate the proposal under both steady and transient states.

A method to control the output current of a three-phase grid-tied inverter is presented. An LCL-filter is used to reduce the current distortion injected into the grid. The objective is to minimise current distortion and switching frequency to reduce losses. The control approach is based on finite control set model predictive control with sphere decoding to make the problem computationally tractable for long horizons. A mathematical model was derived that extends on previous work by incorporating the effect of a grid-voltage to the system. The control strategy was evaluated through simulation. The results indicate that this control strategy can achieve the objectives for its application mentioned in the paper.

finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) scheme is applied to active power filter (APF), which has some advantages such as fast dynamic response, needlessness of modulation model. However, some problems exist such as large calculation and difficult selection for weighting factors. In this paper, a single-objective FCS-MPC method is proposed for neutral-point-clamped (NPC) three-level APF. The mixed logic dynamic (MLD) model of APF is built as predictive model. Then based on the traditional FCS-MPC scheme, the proposed method optimized the multiple-objectives by one cost function item without using weighting factors. This method decreases the amount of calculation caused by setting weighting factors and calculating cost function items as well as the number of switch states required to calculate. Finally, simulation and experiment results verify the feasibility and appropriate performance of the proposed method.

finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) has been proven to be a powerful control strategy in power electronics with very high dynamic performance compared to carrier-based pulse width modulation (PWM) approaches while avoiding unnecessarily high switching frequencies that would increase switching losses. However, the limited time resolution often leads to poor steady-state performance and can only be overcome by increasing the sampling rate, which would involve an infeasibly high computational demand. This paper presents a predictive pulse pattern control (PPPC) strategy for a synchronous multiphase buck converter (SMPB) that achieves both objectives yielding in high performance for transient and steady-state operating conditions with a feasible computational demand. At every time step, a pulse pattern with minimal switching effort is selected whose switching instants are obtained by minimizing an objective function yielding in high tracking accuracy. Simulation results demonstrate the potential of the proposed control strategy to outperform state-of-the art control approaches.

The direct matrix converter has twenty-seven available switching states. This implies that the implementation of predictive control techniques in this converter requires high computational cost while an adequate selection of weighting factors in order to control both input and output sides. In addition, the technique presents a variable switching frequency which could produce resonances in the input filter damaging the performance of the system. In this paper, two indirect model predictive current control strategies are proposed in order to simplify the computational cost while avoiding the use of weighting factors. The first method consists in a predictive current control strategy with minimization of the reactive power minimization enhanced with an active clamping implementation which allows mitigate resonances in the input side. The second proposal consist in an indirect model predictive current control with imposed sinusoidal source currents in the input side. Simulated results confirm the feasibility of the proposals demonstrating that with both alternatives it is possible to mitigate the resonances on the input filter.

The following paper presents a novel indirect model predictive control strategy for a direct matrix converter (DMC). The direct matrix converter has a large number of available switching states and therefore the implementation of predictive control techniques require high computational resources. In addition, the simultaneous selection of weighting factors for the control of input and output variables of the converter complicates the system tuning. In this paper, two indirect model predictive control strategies are proposed in order to reduce the computational cost and by doing so avoid the use of weighting factors. The proposal is enhanced with a fixed switching frequency strategy in order to improve the performance of the full system. Results confirm the feasibility of the proposal by demonstrating that it is an alternative to classical predictive control strategies for the direct matrix converter.

The paper presents a new multi-objective modulated model predictive control (MMPC) method for power converters with four different model states. The proposed method is based on a new concept of composing an error vector with fundamental state vectors. It can significantly minimize voltage and current ripples while retaining the nonlinear and dynamic performance of conventional MPC methods. Simulation and experimental results on a SiC-based 3-level flying capacitor(FC) converter are provided to validate this concept, and indicate a much reduced control error with the new method.

This paper deals with high power wind turbines with doubly-fed induction generators and investigates the model predictive control (MPC) approach for a power converter system with three-level Neutral-Point Clamped (NPC) topology. The modeling of each system component is presented. A simulation study provides insight on the operational performance of the implemented MPC, highlights both, its advantages but also its challenges. The most commonly applied field oriented control is given as a comparative reference. Selected performance indicators are determined for the entire operation range and show, that the MPC scheme in its simplest form can operate with comparatively low average switching frequencies to relax thermal loading in the power converter system, although a compromise need to be made with respect to mechanical loading and power quality issues. MPC still has great potential in improving overall operational performance.

Renewable energy plays an increasingly significant role in the power generation process. Wind energy, in particular, has brilliant prospects, especially high-power wind energy. The three-level neutral-point-clamped (3L-NPC) converter for power transformed into the grid has proven to be a promising and effective configuration. For this topology, finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) is an effective control option. However, the performance of FCS-MPC, like most model based control schemes, will deteriorate when system parameter (in particular, the inductance of grid side filters) varies. In this work, we propose a robust FCS-MPC scheme with revised predictions. This proposed robust FCS-MPC outperforms the classic scheme at both normal and parameter mismatched conditions, which has been validated experimentally for such systems with a fully FPGA based real-time hardware. Besides, the proposed method enlarges the range of the stability of the control method. The stability of the proposed scheme is derived theoretically and proven to be better in comparison with classic FCS-MPC.
