Stress analysis and theoretical calculation of hydraulic support is studied and 3D modeling is built with Pro/E. The strength and displacement distribution of the hydraulic supports are obtained by means of finite element software ANSYS. The result can be applied to amend the design and to improve the hydraulic support's reliability It supplies the bases for the structure optimization of the shield hydraulic support.

In order to investigate the impact of overhead distribution lines on line workers and provide data reference for safety protection during live line operations on transmission lines, this study establishes a model for the relative dielectric constant of human tissues using the Cole-Cole model. The influence of body fat percentage on the dielectric constant is specifically considered, and the relative dielectric constant of human bodies with different body fat percentages is calculated. finite element simulation analysis is performed using COMSOL software to calculate the maximum electric field value induced when human bodies with different body fat percentages are working directly beneath the lines. The results indicate a positive correlation between body fat percentage and electric field value, and provide a range of relative dielectric constants corresponding to different body fat percentages. These research findings can serve as data references for other simulations related to human electric field exposure.

In this paper, considering material properties and processing characteristics of titanium alloys, the milling tool under the machining condition of large cutting depth and quasi-high speed is designed, and the face milling cutter with integral CBN inserts is developed. Then, the solid model of the CBN face-milling cutter is built by the three-dimensional modeling software Pro/E. At the same time, based on the platform of finite element simulation analysis, the deformation and stress analysis of the overall structures are carried out. It turns out that: the maximum stress of the cutter blades is not in the cutter tip region but distributed approximately along the direction of the main cutting edge, the maximum stress of the tool body is at the bottom of the groove for insert. The maximum stress acting on the wedge is at the bottom of the contact area between the wedge and the cutter body. Strength sensitive area of the clamping screw happens in the connection root. Through the static analysis, the reasonableness of structural design of the tool is evaluated theoretically.

In this study, a three-dimensional finite element model was developed with an air-film cooled turbine blade as a substrate on which a thermal barrier coating (TBC) was sprayed, considering the interface morphology of the TBC system. By means of a simulation study method, the residual stresses at the interface of the TBC are calculated when the temperature of the TBC decreases linearly from 1000 to 25 degrees C, the influence of air-film cooling holes geometry parameters on residual stress in TBC system was studied. In the study, it was found that the shape and positional characteristics of the air-film cooling holes, such as the position of the cooling hole, radius, ratio between upper and lower radii of a cooling hole, and space angle, have certain effect on the residual stress. When the air-film cooling holes are located at the lowest part of the TBC interface, there is minimal residual stress, while at the junction of the bond coat and the thermally grown oxide, there is a more severe stress concentration, which should be paid special attention to. The radius of air-film cooling holes not only affects the value of the residual stress but also affects the range of its extreme value, and the small radius of cooling hole can reduce the residual stress to a large extent. The proper ratio between upper and lower radii and space angle can reduce the residual stress to a certain extent. This can provide a preliminary optimization design scheme for air-film cooling blade and hole drilling.

Influence of bearing platform size on bearing capacity of NT-CEP pile group foundation under compound force

The compressive bearing capacity of a new type of concrete-expanded plate pile (NT-CEP pile) is significantly affected by the size of the bearing platform;however, research in this area remains limited. Therefore, this study investigates the effect of bearing platform size on the compressive bearing capacity of an NT-CEP pile foundation under combined vertical and horizontal loads. Using ANSYS finite element software, a four-pile model was established to analyze the failure behavior of the bearing platform and surrounding soil under these loads. The findings indicate that in an NT-CEP four-pile foundation, the bearing capacity of piles with a bearing platform increased by 66.67% compared with those without one. However, although the bearing capacity increased with platform size, this increase reduced after reaching a certain threshold. Optimal bearing performance was achieved when the platform size was 1.5 times the pile diameter from the edge to the pile center. High shear stress at the junction between the lower part of the platform and pile body suggested a potential stress concentration. The findings emphasize the importance of maintaining the optimal bearing platform size and reinforcing the connection between the platform and pile body to prevent local damage from affecting the overall bearing capacity.

Magnetic Integrated LLC Resonant Converter Based on Independent Inductance Winding

LLC resonant converter has the advantages of high frequency and high efficiency, and has been developed rapidly and widely used in recent years. However, due to the presence of multiple magnetic components in the circuit, the improvement of power density is limited. To solve this problem, integrated magnetic transformer is usually designed to replace the discrete magnetics. While, the leakage inductance of the transformer cannot be controlled, the loss of the converter increases. In this paper, a magnetic integrated LLC resonant converter with independent inductance winding is proposed. The resonant inductance and magnetizing inductance are integrated with the transformer in the same magnetic core by using the decoupling integration method. Compared with the existing solution of magnetic integrated LLC resonant converter, this method can reduce the leakage inductance between the transformer windings and decrease the magnetic saturation of the integrated magnetics, thereby reducing the magnetic core loss and improving the efficiency of the converter. Compared with the discrete magnetics, the volume and weight of the magnetic components are reduced by 25.68% and 43.82% respectively, making the power density of the converter effectively improved. Finally, an experimental prototype of integrated magnetic LLC resonant converter with operating frequency of 350kHz and output power of 400W is built. The experimental results verify the correctness of the design scheme.

Eddy current loss modelling for torque-motors

A torque motor is a key component that directly influences the dynamic performance of two-dimensional (2D) cartridge servo valves. Considering the effects of eddy current, a magnetic circuit model of a torque motor is proposed, and the eddy current resistance value considering the skin effect is calculated. When the eddy current effect is ignored, the natural frequency and critical damping of a torque motor are less than the calculated values under the eddy current effect, so the eddy current influence can be assumed to increase torque motor damping, as the iron loss can be equivalent to the damping energy consumption. Test rigs were set up and experiments were conducted based on a torque motor prototype. Through a finite element simulation analysis, the eddy current effect of the armature was found to be greater than that of the yokes. The magnetic leakage coefficients of the permanent magnets were calculated, and the obtained values were compared through experiments and simulations. Both the numerical simulations and experimental results showed that the eddy current model is closer to actual working conditions than the model for which the eddy current loss was ignored.

Microstructure characterization and corrosion resistance in soil of Mg-2Zn-xCe-yCu alloy for light agricultural machinery

The microstructure, mechanical properties, corrosion behavior, and potential for lightweight applications of Mg2Zn alloys enhanced with Cu and Ce were investigated. It was observed that the Ce and Cu-containing phases displayed various morphologies in the as-cast and extruded conditions. The extruded alloy, containing 0.8 wt% Ce and 0.5 wt% Cu, exhibited optimal mechanical properties, with the yield strength of 289 MPa, ultimate tensile strength of 336 MPa, and elongation of 15.8 %. Grain boundary and precipitation strengthening significantly contributed to the increase in yield strength. After four months of soil burial, the specimen surface showed localized pits and cracks, likely serving as anodes in the areas including Ce and Cu-containing phases. The corrosion rates in different soil environments paddy, vegetable, orchard, and corn fields were 2.029, 2.293, 2.133, and 1.986 mg & sdot;cm- 2 & sdot;d- 1, respectively indicating variations due to complex soil conditions. The corrosion products included Mg(OH)2 and Mg5(CO3)4(OH)2 & sdot;4 H2O, among others, throughout the burial period. Furthermore, model assembly in SolidWorks and static structural simulation with ANSYS confirmed the alloy's reliable load-bearing capacity, safety, and potential as the material for lightweight agricultural machinery.

Failure analysis of nozzle zone before valve of negative pressure chamber from main pipe coolant system in nuclear power plant

Nozzle zone before valve of negative pressure chamber from main pipe coolant system in the secondary circuit of reactor is made of F316 stainless as usual. The butt weld between nozzle and socket in main pipe is the weakest part. If the rupture occurs, it will directly lead to the leakage of main system. One nuclear power plant finds a local penetration crack in the weld of nozzle zone, and it leads to leakage in the inspection. The length of crack is 23.6 mm, nearly 41.7% of the perimeter. In this work, crack morphology observation, composition analysis, metallographic structure observation and hardness measurement are done for the leak part. Analysing with the service environment and force condition, the inner wall of nozzle has a greater stress concentration. It easily leads to fatigue cracking near the fusion line area with poor welding, and the crack extends from inner wall to outer wall. The fatigue crack evolves to corrosion fatigue crack during the crack propagation, and the further advices for use are provided.

Effect of coarse second-phase particles on mechanical properties of large-scale 2219 Al alloy rings

Large-scale 2219 Al alloy rings are widely used as important parts on launch vehicles and thus have high requirements for the mechanical properties of rings in different direction, which are associated with coarse second-phase particles. Therefore, the objective of this study is to provide a comprehensive and systematic quantitative analysis of the effect degree of the coarse secondphase particles characteristics on the mechanical properties of 2219 Al alloy rings in different direction, so as to guide the design and optimization of the global process based on the relationship between each process and the coarse second-phase particles. Firstly, according to the features of the coarse second-phase particles characteristics in the experimental results, a reliable research scheme with the particles size, percentage and distribution as the study variable was designed. Then, based on the experimental characterization results, a representation volume element modeling method incorporating coarse second-phase particles characteristics was developed. The representation volume element finite element models for different research schemes were established in the ABAQUS/EXPLICIT platform respectively. Next, the comparison of experimental and numerical simulation results verifies that the finite element model with coarse second-phase particles developed in this paper can accurately predict ultimate tensile strength and elongation of the tested specimen. Finally, based on the numerical simulation results of the different research schemes, the effects of different sizes, percentages and distributions of coarse second-phase particles on the mechanical properties of the ring are analyzed to determine the extent to which the mechanical properties can be improved with different coarse secondphase particles characteristics.
