Rail track surface detection system was constructed to detect the rail track surface. The mismatch between the train speed, rail track location and camera trigger speed was solved during the real-time acquisition process about the rail track using optical encoder and gps module. In our system, optical encoder was used to reflect the train speed and output pulse to externally trigger the line scan high-speed camera exposure. At the same time, another pulse of optical encoder was transmitted to the computer to save the gps location information. So the rail track images are saved with the track location information.

The paper deals with monitoring of selected technical - exploitative parameters of a municipal vehicle using newly developed recording system in operating conditions. The measuring system consists of a gps module which records the time, location and travelling speed of the vehicle and two measurement cards scanning fuel consumption, engine RPM, operating temperatures of the fuel and hydro-generator's operation. The system according to the current mode of the vehicle also calculates the gear, approximate amount of CO2 emissions, immediate and cumulative fuel consumption, etc. Post also describes the functions and characteristics of the detector elements, as well as their involvement and basic mathematical relationships. The proposed open measuring device is suitable for scanning arbitrary physical quantities (from sensors with electrical output) transport technology with immediate calculation of the required functionality and dependencies, which can be operatively created.

This paper presents the development of a mobile robot used in farms for identification of diseased plants. It puts forth two of the major aspects of robotics namely automated navigation and image processing. The robot navigates on the basis of the gps (Global Positioning System) location and data obtained from IR (Infrared) sensors to avoid any obstacles in its path. It uses an image processing algorithm to differentiate between diseased and non-diseased plants. A robotic platform consisting of an ARM9 processor, motor drivers, robot mechanical assembly, camera and infrared sensors has been used. Mini2440 microcontroller has been used wherein Embedded linux OS (Operating System) is implemented.

Monitoring system can be performed both offline and online, and this research carries out the design of long-distance monitoring system for moving system. gps module is used as system input containing position information of monitored system. This information is processed by the system and is sent by GSM module. On the receiver side, the data are compiled for monitoring system movement. The system is implemented using mu C Cortex-M4 by applying Event Driven method. This method is applied for saving resource. The result shows good accuracy level which is measured based on monitoring with system position in the field.

In order to go on a journey conveniently, the STC89C52 SCM is used, one kind of gps user terminal is designed, it including GM-89 gps module, communications and transformation connection, control processing electric circuit, display circuit, RS232 exterior serial communication connection and so on. The related hardware welding on the PCB, the software programming after-burning writes in the SCM, inserts the TFT colored tablet (or 12864 liquid crystals) and outside sets at the type gps antenna. On the electricity, demonstrated the longitude, latitude, time and altitude above sea level and so on information, after access the internet to consult the local latitude and longitude information to carry on compared to rightly, the result is correct, indicated that has achieved the design requirements.

This article describes a landmine-detection system that contains a landmine-detection mobile robot and a following mobile robot. In this system, the landmine-detection robot goes ahead, and uses a landmine detector and a gps module to find a landmine, records the coordinates of its location, and transmits these coordinates to the following mobile robot via a wireless RF interface. The following robot can record the location and orientation of the landmine-detection robot and all the landmines in the region. The following robot moves close to the landmine, and programs a path to avoid obstacles and landmines automatically. The driving system of the landmine-detection mobile robot uses a microprocessor dsPIC 30F4011 as the core, and controls two DC servomotors to program the motion path. The user interface of the landmine-detection robot and the following robot uses Borland C++ Builder language to receive the location data. In the experimental results, the landmine-detection robot records the location of landmines using a gps module, and transmits the locations to the following robot via a wireless RF interface. The following robot avoids the landmines, and improves the safety of people or materials being carried through the landmine area.

In various kinds of emergency, it's the proper decision-making and timely medical treatment that will effectively save lives and lower the damage to a minimum. Steady advances in wireless networking, medical sensor and interoperability software create exciting possibilities for improving the way of providing emergency care in prehospital situations. A real-time patient monitoring system based on the third generation(3G) cellular standard and General Packet Radio Service(GPRS) was designed and developed for emergency care and response management. Besides of vital signs of patients, such as ECG, Sp O2 and NIBP, the system simultaneously transmits videos, voice and geographical position and so on, which is required throughout the prehospital procedure. Moreover, a hand-held ID card reader can automatically record the patient personal information, and the patient care software received the real-time patient data from the sensor and processes the data to detect anomalies. The testing results of the system show that it has the potential to improve the efficiency of the medical staff in the rescue operation for the most part.
