The authors have designed a structure for a gyro system (used for the guidance of self-guided missiles) with two gimbals and a rotor in magnetic suspension (AMBs-active magnetic bearings). The system (double-gimbal magnetic suspension gyro system for guidance-DGMSGG) orients the common axis rotor AMB (the sight line) in the direction of the target line (the guide line) by means of some control system of the gyro rotor's rotations and translations, as well as by means of some servo systems for the gimbals' rotation angle control. The DGMSGG provides specific signals for the missile's autopilot, to guide it toward the target, so that the guidance line translates parallel to itself to the point of interception of the target (according to the self-guidance method by parallel approach). Based on the DGMSGG's established mathematical model, the authors propose and design adaptive control systems for the decoupled dynamics of the gyro rotor's translations and rotations and of the gimbals' rotations;the concept of dynamic inversion is used, as well as linear dynamic compensators (P.D.- and P.I.D.-type), state observers, reference models, and neural networks. The theoretical results are validated through numerical simulations, using Simulink/Matlab models' stabilization and orientation operating regimes.

Therapies using extracellular vesicles (EVs), exosomes, or cell culture supernatants containing EVs or exosomes (referred to as "EV therapies" in this guidance) have garnered an increasing amount of interest. However, pharmaceutical products containing EVs as their main active ingredient are yet to receive regulatory approval. The "Basic points to consider regarding the preparation of extracellular vesicles and their clinical applications in Japan," was announced by the Japanese Society for Regenerative Medicine (JSRM) on March 10, 2021, with a specific focus on exosomes among EVs to promote high safety standards in this evolving field and facilitate the application of EV clinically. The Scientific Committee of the Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency and the Japanese Society for Extracellular Vesicles have issued reports and statements regarding treatment, resulting in a growing momentum toward treatment in Japan. This article summarized the basic items that should be recognized comprehensively for clinical practice in three categories: (1) risk profiling, (2) preparation (manufacturing) process and quality, and (3) verification of EVs checking items and effectiveness. This guideline will be revised in the future with technological innovations and new findings;nevertheless, it will serve as a guide for the development of treatments. (c) 2025 The Author(s). BackgroundIn recent years, there has been a growing trend in the utilization of observational studies that make use of routinely collected healthcare data (RCD). These studies rely on algorithms to identify specific health conditions (e.g. diabetes or sepsis) for statistical analyses. However, there has been substantial variation in the algorithm development and validation, leading to frequently suboptimal performance and posing a significant threat to the validity of study findings. Unfortunately, these issues are often *** systematically developed guidance for the development, validation, and evaluation of algorithms designed to identify health status (DEVELOP-RCD). Our initial efforts involved conducting both a narrative review and a systematic review of published studies on the concepts and methodological issues related to algorithm development, validation, and evaluation. Subsequently, we conducted an empirical study on an algorithm for identifying sepsis. Based on these findings, we formulated specific workflow and recommendations for algorithm development, validation, and evaluation within the guidance. Finally, the guidance underwent independent review by a panel of 20 external experts who then convened a consensus meeting to finalize *** standardized workflow for algorithm development, validation, and evaluation was established. Guided by specific health status considerations, the workflow comprises four integrated steps: assessing an existing algorithm's suitability for the target health status;developing a new algorithm using recommended methods;validating the algorithm using prescribed performance measures;and evaluating the impact of the algorithm on study results. Background Since November 2019, the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has created challenges for preventing and managing COVID-19 in children and adolescents. Most research to develop new therapeutic interventions or to repurpose existing ones has been undertaken in adults, and although most cases of infection in pediatric populations are mild, there have been many cases of critical and fatal infection. Understanding the risk factors for severe illness and the evidence for safety, efficacy, and effectiveness of therapies for COVID-19 in children is necessary to optimize *** A panel of experts in pediatric infectious diseases, pediatric infectious diseases pharmacology, and pediatric intensive care medicine from 21 geographically diverse North American institutions was re-convened. Through a series of teleconferences and web-based surveys and a systematic review with meta-analysis of data for risk factors, a guidance statement comprising a series of recommendations for risk stratification, treatment, and prevention of COVID-19 was developed and refined based on expert *** There are identifiable clinical characteristics that enable risk stratification for patients at risk for severe COVID-19. These risk factors can be used to guide the treatment of hospitalized and non-hospitalized children and adolescents with COVID-19 and to guide preventative therapy where options remain available.

Formation Flight of Fixed-Wing UAVs: Dynamic Modeling, guidance Design, and Testing in Realistic Scenarios

Autonomous unmanned flight based on fixed-wing aircraft constitutes a practical and economical solution for transport missions to remote destinations or disadvantaged communities, for which their payload and range represent interesting figures of merit. In such contexts, the use of UAV swarms presents an attractive approach to leveraging payload capabilities. Additionally, within the military domain, deploying swarms of smaller aircraft could enhance logistic modularity, reducing the risk of losing the entire mission cargo or supply of weaponry when traversing hostile territories. The literature on swarms of fixed-wing aircraft is mostly related to control design aspects, often demonstrated via simplistic modeling in virtual environment, or to performance analyses carried out on experimental setups, which typically try to cope with the complexity of real-time management, integration within a multi-agent scenario, and the tactical issues arising when facing an actual flight. This paper fits in the gap between these approaches. It introduces an accurate 6-DOF flight dynamics model of a fixed-wing UAV, which was employed for the synthesis and testing of the stabilization and guidance laws for a swarm within a high-fidelity simulation environment. Furthermore, in the same environment, a scheme for intra-swarm coordination was designed and demonstrated, accounting for optimal aerodynamic performance. The performance of coupled swarm guidance and formation control algorithms was analyzed and tested in the case of realistic missions, also demonstrating the ability of the proposed overall control scheme to operate in the presence of disturbances.

The interpretation of long-acting cabotegravir and rilpivirine concentrations is complicated by the lack of consensus on the threshold to consider. Building on real-world therapeutic drug monitoring data and documented virologic failures, this article provides a reappraisal of the existing thresholds and guidance for the interpretation of cabotegravir and rilpivirine concentrations. There is no established threshold for the interpretation of long-acting cabotegravir/rilpivirine concentrations. Promoting the social-emotional development of kindergartners is of special relevance as will lay the foundations for emotion regulation in later childhood and adulthood stages. Considering that tangible storytelling tables are already used for language and literacy skills in kindergarten, we addressed the problem of designing a storytelling intervention aimed at social-emotional development suitable in such a context by using an emotional laden story as content and embedding a guidance method that can be implemented with either a human or robot guide to enhance the learning setting. The study considered two guided storytelling activities (one traditional guided by the teacher, and one in which guidance was provided by a robot) and a control condition without additional guidance. The three conditions were compared in terms of kindergartners' enactment process, an emotion recognition test and a story recall test. The results show that the guidance method properly supported emotion naming, children involvement and goal completion during the storytelling activity whereas the intervention supported the learning gain on emotion recognition. The study revealed that both robot and human guidance did not differ significantly in the performance tests but did outperform the control. In view of the results, this research is helpful for researchers and teachers to create in an informed way a range of environments in the kindergarten class based on storytelling tables, either with or without guidance, and with or without robot support. Future work may further investigate how specific interaction issues concerning robot embodiment (e.g., voice and behavioral cues to direct children's attention) might enhance or not the children's performance.

A Minimum Initial Information Approach for Nominal guidance via Convex Optimization

Many guidance methods that incorporate stochastic modeling assume that the covariance for the initial state distribution is given. Alternatively, this work reframes the problem as one of solving for the maximum possible initial uncertainty-or minimum required initial information-and the associated open loop control sequence such that constraints are satisfied. The optimization is solved exactly via convex optimization with probabilistic guarantees for linear Gaussian systems. Additionally, a nonlinear extension is proposed that incorporates a novel degree of nonlinearity constraint based on a previously published measure. The method is evaluated on two example scenarios, a linear rendezvous and a nonlinear perilune passage. Monte Carlo analysis verifies that, for linear systems, a feasible optimization results in probabilistic guarantees and that, for nonlinear systems, the degree of nonlinearity constraint is an important tuning parameter to assure statistical performance.
