Some problems on guidance and robust gyromoment motion control of agile spacecraft (SC) for remote sensing the Earth surface are considered. This study examines the assertiveness levels and the problem-solving skills of the undergraduate students attending to the different vocational education departments. The sample of the study includes a total of 302 undergraduate students. The data of the study were collected through the use of the Voltan-Acar Assertiveness Inventory and Problem Solving Inventory. The data obtained were analysed using t-tests and ANOVA. The findings reveal that both assertiveness levels and the problem-solving skills of the subjects are not significantly affected by their gender, age, department, the level of satisfaction from the department and the perceived father attitude. However, it is found that the perceived achievement level and satisfaction from peer relationships significantly influences the subjects’ assertiveness levels and their problem-solving skills. Furthermore, it is also determined that increase in the assertiveness levels leads to increase in the problem-solving skills.

This paper proceeds to lay out the activities being performed by the Croatian group of researchers from University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing, Department of Control and Computer Engineering, Laboratory for Underwater Systems and Technologies (LABUST), after having successfully applied to the REGPOT-2008-1 call and having been awarded a capacity-building grant for the “Developing the Croatian Underwater Robotics Research Potential – CURE” project. The scientific contributions to the state of the art of underwater and marine system technology of LABUST, based on which the capacity to further and intensify research activity is being built within the CURE project, fall mainly into three categories:
(1) unmanned small vessel modeling and identification, cf. Miskovic et al. (2009a,b,c). (2) distributed coordinated and cooperative control, cf. Barisic at al. (2008, 2009a,c). (3) embedded control systems engineering and software design, cf. Barisic et al. (2009b,d).

This research presents robotic weeding of a maize field based on navigation data of the tractor that performed the seeding. The availability of tractors equipped with RTK-DGPS based automatic guidance potentially enables robots to perform subsequent tasks in the same field. In an experiment a tractor guidance system generated a route for sowing based on an initial path consisting of two logged positions (A-B line) and then planned the subsequent paths parallel to the initial path one working width apart. After sowing the maize, the A-B line was transferred to the Intelligent Autonomous Weeder (IAW) of Wageningen University. The IAW generated a route plan based on this A-B line and eight coordinates defining the borders of the field and the two headlands. It then successfully performed autonomous weeding of the entire field except of the headlands. The row width was 75 cm and the width of the hoes mounted on the robot was 50 cm. The results show that it is possible to perform robot weeding at field level with high accuracy based on navigation data of the tractor that performed the sowing.
