Autonomous Underwater Glider (AUG) as a high durability underwater vehicle is typically capable of extremely long missions in the ocean by tracking the desired waypoints using guidance system. Typical AUG's guidance system development requires many costly at-sea trials to evaluate the guidance ability. Simulation provides a cost-effective measure to carry out preliminary component and system testing, thereby reducing the number of potential failures in at-sea trials. This paper presents the Hardware in the Loop (HIL) simulation development of the guidance system for a class of AUG. guidance through waypoints using Line of Sight (LOS) method guides the AUG to desired waypoints by adjusting the yaw angle. The LOS algorithm was implemented as executable code in BeagleBone Black board. HIL simulation can be simulated using the hardware component (BeagleBone Black) along with AUG's models which were built in MATLAB/SIMULINK. It provides the verification step of the AUG's guidance system before the real deployment in the ocean. The HIL simulation showed that LOS method was able to guide the AUG to desired waypoints despite simulated using some different waypoint schemes and under the effect of ocean currents as a disturbance.

The paper describes the development of the monitoring system guidance program on the Venus orbit. The monitoring system consists of six spacecraft with solar sail. Motion simulation of the solar sail spacecraft monitoring system is based on the guidance program, which consists of mathematical motion model and control laws of Keplerian element changes. The findings of the work include a flight trajectory of solar sail spacecraft monitoring system and dependency graphs of Keplerian elements against flight duration. Moreover, ballistic analysis of the monitoring system flight to the Venus orbit and angular motion simulation findings are provided. The investigation results demonstrate the possibility of creation of monitoring system and show operation efficiency of the developed monitoring system, which consists of six solar sail spacecraft and is based on guidance mathematical motion model.

During the last decades, flexibility has gained a strong presence, in a variety of disciplines, mainly in the BPM field. The real challenge for BPM consists in providing modeling paradigms and BPMSs with adequate information and features to deal with the often conflicting requirements of flexibility. In this setting, we focus on providing a guidance approach for enhancing business process flexibility. Our purpose is therefore to perceive which modeling paradigm(s) and/or business process management system(s) (BPMS(s)) are the most adequate to the specific organization needs in terms of flexibility. This approach was implemented in a plug-in named BPFlexGuide. To evaluate this approach, we have studied the emergency care (EC) process. Users interested in the EC process were guided to use the AristaFlow BPM suite BPMS. The results of this study would help designers to choose the best paradigms and BPMS that best fit their needs on flexibility.

The usage of the Fedorenko successful linearization method along with the gradient method in the three-body task framework are used to obtain optimal steering and the motion trajectories for spacecraft with low-thrust engines. Gesture training, especially for technical gestures, requires supervisors to point out errors made by trainees. Virtual reality (VR) makes it possible to reduce reliance on supervisors (fewer interventions and of shorter duration) and to reduce the length of training, using extrinsic feedback that provides training or learning assistance using different modalities (visual, auditory, and haptic). Visual feedback has received much attention in recent decades. Users can be guided by a metaphor in a virtual environment. This metaphor may be a 3D trace of canonical movements, a visual cue pointing in the right direction, or gestures by an avatar that the trainee must mimic. However, with many kinds of feedback, trainees are not aware of their errors while performing gestures. Our hypothesis is that guiding users with a dynamic metaphor based on the visualization of errors will reduce these errors and improve performance. To this end, in a previous work we designed and implemented a new 3D metaphor called EBAGG to guide users in real time. In the present paper we evaluate EBAGG in relation to two other visual cues: first, a feedforward technique that displays the trace of a reference movement, and, second, a concurrent orientation feedback. The results of the user study show that EBAGG outperformed the others in improving users' performances over a training session. Moreover, the information assimilated during training with this dynamic feedback had a persistent effect when the metaphor was no longer displayed.
