A method for classifying citrus surface defects based on machine vision

When detecting citrus surface defects, the performance of machine vision system is affected by different aspects such as the size, shape and environment. Therefore, a method for classifying citrus surface defects based on machine vision was proposed in this paper. First, the Fuzzy C-Means algorithm optimized by the Gray Wolf Optimizer algorithm was used to preprocess the citrus image. The citrus in the image was separated from the background;Then, the improved convolutional neural network combined with the State Transfer algorithm (STA) was used to identify the citrus surface defects. We selected 2000 Tribute Citrus, 1000 ones with and without the defects separately, to carry on the experiment. The identification accuracy of the trained model on the dataset was 99.1%. In order to verify the effectiveness of the model in complex background, the convolutional neural network in combination with a STA was compared with SVM, AlexNet, VGG16 and other methods. The experimental results show that the citrus surface defect classification method based on machine vision is effective.

In this article, we propose the design of a rectangular -shaped patch antenna suitable for ultrawideband (UWB) applications and short and long-range Millimeter -Wave Communications. We begin with the design of a high -gain UWB rectangular patch antenna featuring a partial ground plane and operating within the 3.1-10.6 GHz bandwidth. Complementary Split Ring Resonators (CSRRs) are integrated on both sides of the structure to meet desired specifications. The resulting UWB antenna boasts an extended frequency bandwidth, covering 2.38-22.5 GHz (twice that of the original antenna), with a peak gain of 6.5 dBi and an 88% radiation efficiency. The grey wolf optimization technique (gwo) determines optimal structural dimensions. Validation of the antenna's performance is demonstrated through the strong agreement between measurement and simulation.

The use of trade credit finance is becoming more widely acknowledged as a crucial approach to improving inventory system profitability. We review an inventory model with depending on permitted payment delays for which, if the retailer place an orders higher than or equal to a predefined quantity S1, then the supplier will provide a fully pay in later facility of xi periods (i.e., there will be no charge of interest until xi). On the other hand the retailer need to pay a partial amount of payment to the supplier if the order quantity is less than S1, and the remaining amount may be deferred for up to xi periods. Main objective of this study is to investigate the inventory model with different situations under delayed payment facility. In addition, determining the product's demand also involves taking into account the item's greenness and selling price. We have also considered the fact that the cost of buying is influenced by the product's degree of greenness. We employ the meta heuristic algorithm Grey Wolf Optimizar (gwo) to assist us in solving the problem, and we compare the outcomes with the aid of a few other algorithms (Whale optimisation algorithm (WOA) and Artificial electric field algorithm (AEFA)). In the end, we resolve several numerical cases to support the model. The concavity of the desired function is graphically displayed using MATLAB software.

Analysis of an age-structured tuberculosis model with treatment and relapse

A new tuberculosis model consisting of ordinary differential equations and partial differential equations is established in this paper. The model includes latent age (i.e., the time elapsed since the individual became infected but not infectious) and relapse age (i.e., the time between cure and reappearance of symptoms of tuberculosis). We identify the basic reproduction number R-0 for this model, and show that the R-0 determines the global dynamics of the model. If R-0 < 1, the disease-free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable, which means that tuberculosis will disappear, and if R-0 > 1, there exists a unique endemic equilibrium that attracts all solutions that can cause the spread of tuberculosis. Based on the tuberculosis data in China from 2007 to 2018, we use GreyWolf Optimizer algorithm to find the optimal parameter values and initial values of the model. Furthermore, we perform uncertainty and sensitivity analysis to identify the parameters that have significant impact on the basic reproduction number. Finally, we give an effective measure to reach the goal of WHO of reducing the incidence of tuberculosis by 80% by 2030 compared to 2015.

A novel method for determining the stress-strain constitutive relationship of high-grade pipeline weld zone material

As a typical welding structure, the girth weld of high-grade pipelines has obvious heterogeneity. Therefore, the axial mechanical properties of girth weld materials cannot be accurately tested, and the safety evaluation of the girth weld of the pipeline is seriously affected. Based on MATLAB-PYTHON-ABAQUS co-simulation, an optimization inversion method of the material stress-strain constitutive relationship in the weld zone of the high-grade pipeline is proposed in this paper. Four groups of uniaxial tensile tests with different notch sizes are carried out, and the load -displacement curves of each specimen are obtained. The true stress-strain constitutive relation-ship of the weld zone material is obtained by the Bayesian regularization back propagation (BRBP) neural network and the Grey wolf optimizer (gwo). The accuracy of the constitutive relationship is fully verified by the test data, and the relative error is less than 1%. In addition, taking the weld material of the oil and gas pipeline as an example, this paper proposes a universal design method of specimen size with a notch, which is convenient for researchers in different fields to measure the stress-strain constitutive relationship of different materials. The proposed inversion method can provide an accurate stress-strain constitutive relationship for the safety evaluation of girth welds of high-grade pipelines.

Automatic generation control is exhibited for multi-area hybrid solar-hydro-thermal system. Hybrid power system comprises of conventional thermal and solar thermal system in area I. Conventional thermal system and hydro system with electric governor are positioned in area 2 and area 3 respectively. The conventional thermal systems are provided with single reheat turbine. Suitable generation rate constraint is provided in both hydro and thermal systems. The system dynamics with and without solar thermal are evaluated separately, considering conventional secondary controllers. Grey wolf optimizer (gwo) evolutionary computational technique is applied to simultaneously optimize the controller gains. Analyses reveal that system responses, with and without solar thermal, for PID controller are improved in comparison to other controllers. Investigation infers that the responses with reference to the hybrid system are enhanced with faster settling time and lesser deviation as compared to the system in absence of solar thermal. Wide variation in system conditions and parameters does not require resetting of gwo optimized PID controller gains. Robustness analysis authorizes the healthiness of gwo optimized PW controller gains found at nominal system condition.

Design of a fractional order two layer fuzzy logic controller for drug delivery to regulate blood pressure

The main objective of this research work is to propose an effective, robust, optimal and oscillation free controller for automatic drug infusion in mean arterial blood pressure (MAP) control for anaesthesia administration, accidental case, cardiac surgery, critically-ill and post-surgery recovery wherein this system also faces un-certainties like external disturbances or noises and parameter uncertainties that adversely affect the system performance. As a consequence, the controllers designed for the MAP become indispensable to compensate such uncertainties and it is quite a complicated task for control engineers. Therefore, a controlled drug administration is required to regulate the MAP of a person during surgery/observation. In this research work, a new fractional order two layer fuzzy logic controller (FO-TLFLC) is designed to regulate MAP of a patient by administering the drug sodium nitroprusside (SNP) in a controlled manner for tracking desired blood pressure of patient in various conditions. Further, a well-established optimization technique named as grey wolf optimization (gwo) is employed to obtain optimal values of control parameters while minimizing integral absolute error (IAE). In order to present the effectiveness and robustness of proposed FO-TLFLC controller, the performance of proposed controller is compared with integer order two layer fuzzy logic controller (IO-TLFLC), single layer fuzzy logic controller (SLFLC), and proportional integral derivative (PID) controllers for maintaining the MAP to 100 mmHg in reasonable limit through SNP drug infusion. From the experimental results, it is concluded that FO-TLFLC controller can not only maintain the desired MAP but also improve the overshoot, settling-time, and error along with robustness.

Modelling and enhancing the production of green diesel in biodiesel industries have been hampered by the failure of the conventional approach to pursue space with continuous convergence velocity, being entombed in local minima, and maintaining unwavering resolutions. The study presented for the first time the optimization protocol for the development of biodiesel production from tobacco seed oil (TSO) on the batch reactor aided by the unique Grey Wolf Optimizer-Response Surface Methodology-Artificial Neural Network (gwo-RSM-ANN) techniques. Lower calorific value (LCV), higher calorific value (HCV), and specific heat capacity (Cp) correlations were postulated for tobacco seed oil methyl ester (TSOME/B100/TSOB) and diesel blends. RSM, ANN, and gwo approaches were used to model TSOME's main production yield. The ASTM test methods were used to examine the significant basic properties of the fuel categories, while the LCV and HCV were detected using standard procedures. Maximum TSOME yield (90.2%) was obtained at methanol/TSO molar ratio of 5.95, KOH content of 1.15 wt. %, and methylic duration of 77.6 min. The ANN model configuration (3-15-1) that was developed showed more adaptability and nonlinearity. The estimated coefficient of determination (R-2) of 0.9999, mean average error (MAE) of 0.00035, and RMSE of 0.00105 for the gwo model compared to those of R-2 of 0.9825, MAE of 1.3145, and RMSE of 1.7087 for RSM model;and R-2 of 0.9976, MAE of 0.2405, and RMSE of 0.6381 for ANN model vindicate the superiority of gwo model over the RSM and ANN models. The major fuel properties agreed with the ranges of the ASTMD6751 and EN 14214 specifications. The LCV, HCV, and Cp are also correlated with the TSOME fraction through the linear equations. There were excellent correlations between the analyzed and calculated values for the LCVs and HCVs. The maximum absolute error between the measured and estimated LCV and HCV are 0.108% for 20%TSOME (20% TSOME +80% diesel fuel), and 0.17%

Aiming at the problem of inaccurate estimation of state of charge (SOC) in lithium batter applications, this paper proposes a SOC estimation model based on Grey Wolf Optimizer (gwo) and BP neural network This model takes the terminal voltage and discharge current of the lithium battery as the input terms of the neural network and the battery SOC as the output term. The traditional BP diagnostic model and the new model are trained and tested by using the test data at different discharge rates. Experiments with measured data indicate that compared with the traditional BP neural network, the estimation model proposed in this paper has higher accuracy of SOC estimation and smaller relative error.

High-performance control for a permanent-magnet linear synchronous generator using state feedback control scheme plus grey wolf optimisation

This study proposes an optimal control scheme for a permanent-magnet linear synchronous generator (PMLSG) using the state feedback control (SFC) method plus the grey wolf optimisation (gwo) algorithm. First, A novel state-space model of linear PMLSG is established in order to obtain desired dynamics and enough power when used for the smooth wave energy. Second, the gwo algorithm is adopted to acquire weighting matrices Q and R in the process of optimising linear quadratic regulator (LQR). What is more, a penalty term is brought into the fitness index to reduce the overstrike of output voltage and keep the rate of work more stable. Finally, optimal LQR-based SFC with and without penalty term and proportional-integral (PI) controllers are compared both in simulations and in experiments. Results clearly prove that the proposed optimal control strategy performs a better response when compared to other strategies.
