Our hospital acts as a regional core hospital through inter-hospital collaboration. Geographical information is necessary to guide patients to the other hospitals. Although paper maps, which contain directions, nearest public transportation, etc., are usually provided to guide patients to the hospitals, the geographical information tends to change daily. However, updating the geographical information on the maps is costly. We constructed an electronic geographical information system using the google map api (http://***/apis/maps/) with open source software to improve our ability to collaborate with other clinics.

At present, China is in the most prominent time of the social transition. At the same time, population and vehicles are increased rapidly in the urban. Social interaction and large-scale events are also happened frequently in cities. All this are making the problem of urbanization increasingly serious. In order to solve the problem caused by urbanization, city modeling has been rapid developed in recent years. This paper presents a googlemap based platform for city modeling and simulation. The platform aims to ease the problem caused by urbanization. It is feasible and cost-effective to develop applications base on this platform. This paper also introduces an application based on google map api for flex, which implements some functions, such as adding, deleting, modifying points and lines on map, and the property of markers can be dynamically formulated. When disaster strikes, existing network infrastructure is jeopardized. Network Resource Planning is required for building a cost-effective communication system, to fill the communication gap. Ensuring higher packet delivery ratio along with optimal utilization of resources are prime objectives of such planning. We have designed a Web-based application based on the four tier planned hybrid architecture which conforms the aforesaid motives yielding a desired performance, for a given disaster hit area map using suitable heuristic algorithms.

Advancement of mobile technologies has enabled economical collection, storage, processing, and sharing of traffic data. These data are made accessible to intended users through various application program interfaces (api) and can be used to recognize and mitigate congestion in real time. In this paper, quantitative (time of arrival) and qualitative (color-coded congestion levels) data were acquired from the google traffic apis. New parameters that reflect heterogeneous traffic conditions were defined and utilized for real-time control of traffic signals while maintaining the green-to-red time ratio. The proposed method utilizes a congestion-avoiding principle commonly used in computer networking. Adaptive congestion levels were observed on three different intersections of Delhi (India), in peak hours. It showed good variation, hence sensitive for the control algorithm to act efficiently. Also, simulation study establishes that proposed control algorithm decreases waiting time and congestion. The proposed method provides an economical alternative to expensive sensing and tracking technologies.
